Definitions
- the invention relates to a protective wedge for window or door leaf, with an acute-angled wedge body.
- Protective wedges for fixing a door in an open position are widely known.
- a door wedge with a deformable bridge part which in particular runs obliquely in the position of use, and which is pushed under the lower edge of a door
- a similar wedge which is intended for doors, but also for windows for securing the respective wing in the desired open position, is from the DE 199 458 78 A1 known.
- Another such door or window wedge is in the GB 2 212 213 A described, this known wedge on the upper side has a smooth plate with a low friction, which comes in the position of use of the door or window sash with its lower edge to the plant.
- All of these known wedges have the function of securing the associated door or window sash in the respective open position on the underside, for example by clamping between the lower edge of the sash and the floor, the clamping effect being essentially based on friction.
- These wedges have further relatively small dimensions, for example in the order of 5 to 10 cm, and act only in the desired manner, namely as clamping wedges for securing the position of the door or window sash.
- the present protective wedge is intended for use in a tiltable window or door leaf, the respective window or door wing in the tilted position usually requires no backup.
- tilted windows or doors for cats can become a death trap when the cats pass through the V-shaped gap between the window or wall.
- Door wings on the one hand and the floor frame on the other hand for example, want to get from a living room to the outside.
- cats When trying to get through the V-shaped gap, cats often hang with their hind legs. They fall down in the downward narrowing gap and are trapped, for example, in the abdominal area, whereby the abdominal organs are compressed.
- the large blood vessels which supply the rear body region with blood, are severely squeezed, so that the blood supply is no longer given. If not timely Help is done by humans, the consequence is that the cat dies.
- the invention provides a protective wedge as defined in claim 1.
- Advantageous embodiments and further development of this protective wedge are specified in the dependent claims.
- the present protective wedge With the present protective wedge a simple, nevertheless nonetheless extremely effective possibility is created to avoid the described pinching of pets, especially cats, with tilted window or door wings.
- simply designed protection wedges are positioned on both sides between the window or door wing on the one hand and the floor frame on the other hand.
- the present protective wedge differs in its function, but also in its training from the known clamping wedges.
- the protective wedge In order to fulfill its function in the V-shaped gap between the tilting wing and the pole frame, the protective wedge has a corresponding length, for example of the order of 40 cm, with its then upper side, corresponding to the base side of the isosceles triangle, having a relatively large length , For example, in the order of about 10 cm, has.
- the protective wedges used provide a "wall" or “barrier” in the lower area of the narrowing V-shaped gap between the sash and the floor frame, which extends to a height where the gap is then wide enough so that cats are no longer trapped can.
- the required height or base length of the protective wedge in this case depends on the respective window or door construction, in particular on the respective tilt angle of the window or door leaf. Studies have shown that the tilt angles are quite comparable in a wide variety of window constructions, so that a single version of the protective wedge can be found on most tilt windows and tilt doors.
- a tilted window or a tilted door at both window or door longitudinal sides, ie in both V-shaped columns, such protective wedges to install.
- the groove can be milled or cut on the two longitudinal sides of the present protection wedge as mentioned, preferably it is mitgeformt in the production of the protective wedge in one operation.
- the grooves in the side surfaces are preferably rectangular in cross-section.
- the width of the grooves - even if they should, for example, narrow inwardly, so should have a generally trapezoidal cross-section - generally equal to the thickness of the walls bounding the groove.
- the protective wedge which is preferably formed in one piece, an elastic lateral deflection or deformation of the walls delimiting the grooves is facilitated.
- the trapping of the protective wedge between the tilting sash and the floor frame is facilitated even in the case of a wide variety of profiles of the sash frame and the floor frame.
- the wedge body is elastically deformable at least in the area adjacent to the grooves.
- the wedge body may preferably consist of plastic, in particular of E / VA (ethylene / vinyl acetate copolymer).
- the wedge body consists of foam plastic.
- the foam plastic is expediently fine-pored, so that the wedge body has a relatively high compressive strength.
- a sufficient elastic deformability of the grooves limiting relatively thin walls is given. These walls delimiting the grooves, for example, as well as the groove may have a dimension of about 1 cm, so that the total thickness of the protective wedge is about 3 cm. Again, it is true that these dimensions are only examples and can be changed depending on the objective.
- a protective wedge 1 is shown in plan view;
- Fig. 2 shows a corresponding elevation and
- Fig. 3 a side view from the right, as shown Fig. 1 ,
- Fig. 4 a perspective view of this protective wedge 1.
- the protective wedge 1 shown has - as best in the plan view according to Fig. 1 it can be seen - an acute-angled wedge body 2, which is in one piece, in particular molded or molded from plastic, and which is flat-prismatic, with an in Fig. 1 apparent basal plane, which has the shape of a pointed, isosceles triangle. This triangle is flattened at the top, at 3, so the better durability of the Secure wedge body 2 also in this area.
- grooves 6, 7 are provided, which unite to the flattened tip 3 towards a groove 8 in the tip region.
- a spacer plate 9 are used, during storage or transport of the protective wedge 1, so as to unintentional compression of the cantilevered areas 10, 11 (see Fig. 2 ) to prevent.
- the width of the longitudinal grooves 6, 7 corresponds approximately to the wall thickness of the walls bounding these grooves 6, 7, eg 12, 13 (FIG. Fig. 3 ).
- an elastic deformation can take place in this thin wall region, as in FIG Fig. 9 in the range of a stepped profile 14, for example, a floor frame (or sash) 15, can be seen.
- the wedge body 2 is preferably in one piece of plastic, in particular of a fine-pored foam plastic, such as E / VA.
- a wedge body 2 has a good overall strength against pressing and bending, but can be elastically deformed to a certain extent where relatively small material thicknesses are given.
- FIGS. 5 and 6 the insertion of the described protective wedge 1 is shown in a V-shaped gap 16 of a tilting window 17, wherein the floor frame, for example, a step-shaped profile, as in Fig. 9 shown at the floor frame 15, and the associated tilting wing 18 has a corresponding profile.
- the protective wedge 1 is introduced after opening (tilting) of the tilting window 17 with the tip down in the V-shaped gap 16 from above (see arrow).
- the protective wedge 1 is pressed so far down until the flattened tip 3 and the side surfaces 4, 5 (the latter with lateral contact with the corresponding frame parts of the floor frame and the sash) firmly insert in the lower region of the gap 16, wherein the protective wedge 1 between wing and floor frame is clamped fixed.
- Such a protective wedge 1 is of course inserted on both vertical sides of the tilting window (or the tilting door).
- the protective wedges 1 are simply pulled up in the V-gap 16 and thus removed from this V-gap 16 again, after which the tilting wing 18 can be closed.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a protective wedge for window or door leaf, with an acute-angled wedge body.
The present protective wedge, however, is intended for use in a tiltable window or door leaf, the respective window or door wing in the tilted position usually requires no backup. However, it has been found that tilted windows or doors for cats can become a death trap when the cats pass through the V-shaped gap between the window or wall. Door wings on the one hand and the floor frame on the other hand, for example, want to get from a living room to the outside. When trying to get through the V-shaped gap, cats often hang with their hind legs. They fall down in the downward narrowing gap and are trapped, for example, in the abdominal area, whereby the abdominal organs are compressed. Also, the large blood vessels, which supply the rear body region with blood, are severely squeezed, so that the blood supply is no longer given. If not timely Help is done by humans, the consequence is that the cat dies.
It is an object of the invention to remedy this situation and to eliminate the described danger to pets, especially cats, with tilted windows or doors.
To solve this problem, the invention provides a protective wedge as defined in
With the present protective wedge a simple, nevertheless nonetheless extremely effective possibility is created to avoid the described pinching of pets, especially cats, with tilted window or door wings. For this purpose, simply designed protection wedges are positioned on both sides between the window or door wing on the one hand and the floor frame on the other hand. The present protective wedge differs in its function, but also in its training from the known clamping wedges. In order to fulfill its function in the V-shaped gap between the tilting wing and the pole frame, the protective wedge has a corresponding length, for example of the order of 40 cm, with its then upper side, corresponding to the base side of the isosceles triangle, having a relatively large length , For example, in the order of about 10 cm, has. Of course, these dimensions are exemplary only, and larger heights and base lengths may be provided. In any case, the protective wedges used provide a "wall" or "barrier" in the lower area of the narrowing V-shaped gap between the sash and the floor frame, which extends to a height where the gap is then wide enough so that cats are no longer trapped can. The required height or base length of the protective wedge in this case depends on the respective window or door construction, in particular on the respective tilt angle of the window or door leaf. Studies have shown that the tilt angles are quite comparable in a wide variety of window constructions, so that a single version of the protective wedge can be found on most tilt windows and tilt doors. Of course, with a tilted window or a tilted door at both window or door longitudinal sides, ie in both V-shaped columns, such protective wedges to install.
The groove can be milled or cut on the two longitudinal sides of the present protection wedge as mentioned, preferably it is mitgeformt in the production of the protective wedge in one operation.
The grooves in the side surfaces, i. in the longitudinal sides, are preferably rectangular in cross-section. Furthermore, the width of the grooves - even if they should, for example, narrow inwardly, so should have a generally trapezoidal cross-section - generally equal to the thickness of the walls bounding the groove. As a result, with a corresponding choice of material for the protective wedge, which is preferably formed in one piece, an elastic lateral deflection or deformation of the walls delimiting the grooves is facilitated. As a result, the trapping of the protective wedge between the tilting sash and the floor frame is facilitated even in the case of a wide variety of profiles of the sash frame and the floor frame.
With regard to secure clamping, it is thus advantageous if the wedge body is elastically deformable at least in the area adjacent to the grooves. The wedge body may preferably consist of plastic, in particular of E / VA (ethylene / vinyl acetate copolymer). In view of the desired (limited) elastic deformability, it is also advantageous if the wedge body consists of foam plastic. The foam plastic is expediently fine-pored, so that the wedge body has a relatively high compressive strength. In the area of the longitudinal grooves, however, a sufficient elastic deformability of the grooves limiting, relatively thin walls is given. These walls delimiting the grooves, for example, as well as the groove may have a dimension of about 1 cm, so that the total thickness of the protective wedge is about 3 cm. Again, it is true that these dimensions are only examples and can be changed depending on the objective.
