Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a tunnel box for containing a shutter mechanism and which is intended to be secured to a frame.
  • a tunnel box usually comes up, as it appears on the Fig. 1 , in the form of a prismatic part CT, which is intended to be integrated in a masonry of a building under construction, above a table T delimiting the frame of installation of a window or a door.
  • Such a tunnel trunk CT consists of a molded envelope comprising a longitudinal recess E in the form of tunnel opening into each of its ends and whose lower part is open to accommodate a mechanism M roller shutter held between two cheeks of lateral closure of the recess, and which is represented here schematically by a center line.
  • the envelope of the tunnel trunk CT is thus delimited by a wall of vault V and by two walls of jamb B, of which only one is visible on this Fig. 1 , and between which is formed the recess E.
  • a tunnel box comprising a front wall, a top wall, a rear wall.
  • the base of the front wall is equipped with a profile added, reinforcement and finish (metal or plastic).
  • This profile has a vertically adjustable sliding wing in a lateral fold of the added profile to complete the finish and the seal with the associated joinery.
  • the sliding wing is a rigid section section with L-shaped geometry.
  • the tunnel box comes with its roller shutter mechanism which is held via two cheeks closing the lateral ends of the tunnel box. Heels extend, in principle, perpendicularly the cheeks in their lower part to serve as seating for the tunnel box when it rests at its ends on the building elements. Each bead is held by its edges in two rails constituting two sections respectively overlapping the two legs on which it also bears on the masonry.
  • the tunnel box is put in place at the top of the board, then secured, by pouring a binder such as mortar at the back of the cheeks and pouring a lintel on the top of the tunnel box.
  • a binder such as mortar at the back of the cheeks and pouring a lintel on the top of the tunnel box.
  • a frame for an opening for example a door, a window, is fixed in the wall frame.
  • This frame is fixed off the wall by means of sealing tabs secured to the two side walls of the frame and the lower wall thereof.
  • the thickness available between the wall and the frame is intended to receive insulation.
  • the opening is fixed on the integral hinges of the frame.
  • the frame In use, the frame must therefore support the weight of the opening, but also resist, by deforming as little as possible, the pressure that the wind can exert on the closed leaf.
  • a tunnel box for receiving a shutter closing mechanism, the tunnel box being designed to be anchored above a table delimiting the frame of a frame of a frame. window or door, the trunk tunnel comprising at least one leg provided with a connecting rail adapted to overlap the free edge of said leg so as to be secured to the upper cross member of the frame to stiffen it, where, according to l invention, the connecting rail incorporates an articulated tongue whose free end is provided to be secured to the upper rail to establish a tight connection therewith, a spacer being provided to be secured between said rail and said cross to enhance the rigidity of said cross.
  • the upper cross member of the frame can thus be linked with the tunnel box over a large part of its length, so that it resists more effectively the deformation caused by the action of the wind on the sash kept closed in the frame.
  • the frame also anchored by its amounts and its low cross on the wall, is thus effectively held throughout its perimeter.
  • the tunnel box comprises a section fixed on the free edge of said leg, the connecting rail overlapping said profile.
  • the stiffness of the connection between the connecting rail and the tunnel box is increased.
  • the connecting rail comprises an intermediate branch extended on either side by two lateral branches.
  • the position of the connecting rail, when the tunnel box is in place, can be adjusted in height so that it can be fixed on the upper cross member of the frame.
  • the intermediate branch forms a support plate intended to be secured to the upper face of the cross member of the frame.
  • the intermediate branch of the connecting rail extends below side branches to increase the rigidity of the connecting rail in the plane of its intermediate branch.
  • the increased width of the backing plate increases the transverse stiffness of the connecting rail.
  • the tunnel box comprises a retaining profile provided for retaining by clipping the intermediate branch of the connecting rail, the retaining profile being intended to be fixed on the upper cross member of the frame.
  • the assembly of the connecting rail on the frame is obtained by simply clipping into the retaining profile previously made integral with the upper rail.
  • the intermediate branch of the connecting rail is hollow so that it can receive a stiffening blade.
  • the transverse rigidity of the connecting rail is further increased by the presence of this stiffening blade.
  • a slide is provided externally on a side branch of the connecting rail, for housing a side edge of a closure plate of a recess tunnel trunk opening between its legs.
  • the tunnel box comprises an anchor tab intended to be fixed in each end of the connecting rail, each anchor tab being provided to be fixed to the wall wall.
  • the connecting rail being also held by its ends, the connection with the upper cross member of the frame is stiffened.
  • the spacer has an L-shaped geometry, the large branch of which is held in a wedging means constituting the profile and whose small branch is fixed on the upper cross member.
  • the wedging means is delimited between a protrusion which projects under the intermediate branch, and an extension of the lateral branch below the level of said protuberance.
  • the tunnel box 100 presented on the Fig. 3 , is intended to be integrated in a masonry of a building under construction, above a table T delimiting the installation frame of a window or a door. It comes under the form of a piece of prismatic appearance which is traversed longitudinally by a recess E for accommodating a mechanism M shutter comprising a winding drum O around which can be rolled, unrolled, an apron window concealment , Door.
  • the recess E thus opens into each of the ends of the tunnel box and also opens into its lower part over its entire length to accommodate the shutter mechanism and to intervene for maintenance, if necessary.
  • the tunnel box 100 presented on the Figs. 2 and 3 consists of a section delimited by a vault wall V, extended by two jamb walls B1 and B2 (visible distinctly on the Fig. 2 ) constituting the front face and the rear face of the tunnel box.
  • the recess E is delimited between these walls.
  • the profile is made of an insulating material from a thermal point of view. In an advantageous mode of manufacture, it is made of expanded polystyrene.
  • each cheek consists of a closure wall of a lateral end and a flange arranged perpendicularly and whose geometry matches the outlet of the recess E through said lateral end.
  • the shutter mechanism M is held between these two cheeks.
  • two profiles 320 and 340 are respectively mounted on the free edges of the two legs B1 and B2. Their ends thus rest on the building elements thus protecting the jambs. Moreover, the presence of these two sections makes it possible to stiffen the free edges of the two legs whose thickness is relatively small.
  • Each profile 320, 340 has a U-shaped section adapted to overlap the free edge of the leg B1.
  • the heel 300 is thus disposed in the extension of the lower part of each cheek being held laterally in the two profiles 320 and 340. It consists of an independent piece prismatic appearance or an extension of the cheek forming with she a monobloc piece.
  • a connecting rail 400 overlaps the free edge of a jamb and here the leg B2 to connect the tunnel box to the upper rail TS of a frame D of door window.
  • This arrangement allows, by linking these two components, to limit the deformation of the frame under the action of the wind on the opening, held closed in the frame.
  • the direction of the wind symbolized by the arrow F tends to bend the upper rail TS which is not normally anchored to the wall.
  • the connecting rail 400 covers the section 340. This profile, which increases the stiffness of the leg, however, in an embodiment not shown, be absent. It is useful to remember that a wind speed exceeding 120 km / h can exert a differential pressure on a window, a door, which can reach 800 Pa.
  • the connecting rail 400 consists of a U-section section comprising an intermediate branch 410 extended perpendicularly from two lateral branches 420, 430 parallel to each other.
  • the distance separating the two lateral branches 420 and 430 is such that they are in contact with the inner and outer faces of the leg B2, when the connecting section overlaps said leg.
  • the intermediate branch is a support plate intended to be secured to the upper cross member of the frame D.
  • This intermediate branch 410 extends below the side branches 420, 430, to provide significant rigidity to the connecting rail in a plane passing through its intermediate branch, that is to say in the direction of the wind, to minimize the deformation of the upper cross TS.
  • the height position of the connecting rail 400 on the free edge of the leg B2 can be adjusted so that the support plate 410 of the connecting rail 400 can be brought into contact with the upper face of the upper rail to be there. secured.
  • This support plate 410 is preferably fixed by screwing onto the upper crossmember.
  • the support plate 410 is fixed by clipping in a retaining profile 440 secured to the upper cross member TS.
  • This retaining profile 440 comprises a seat wall bordered laterally by two retaining clips of the support plate. It is fixed by screwing, by gluing, on the top rail.
  • the branch 420 is turned towards the inside of the tunnel box.
  • This branch 420 is provided with a slide 422 provided to house a side edge of a closing plate PF of the recess in its portion opening between the heels.
  • This closure plate is commonly called soffit.
  • the slideway 422 consists of two parallel ridges projecting perpendicularly from said branch 420.
  • the connecting rail 400 is made of a material having a high rigidity such as steel or a composite material.
  • an anchor tab 450 is fixed on one end of the connecting rail 400.
  • the other end of the connecting rail is also provided with such an anchor tab 450.
  • the anchoring lugs are intended to be sealed on the wall wall P to hold, by its ends, the connecting rail to increase its maintenance and thereby increase the rigidity of the frame with which it is associated.
  • Each anchor tab presents on this Fig. 5 , a Z-shaped cross section comprising a first fixing wall in the end of the connecting rail, a second intermediate wall and a third fixing wall on the wall wall.
  • the support plate 410 of the connecting rail 400 is hollow so that it can receive a stiffening blade 412 to further improve its rigidity in a transverse plane.
  • the installation of the tunnel box of the invention is carried out as follows.
  • the two cheeks are placed on the ends of the tunnel box and the shutter mechanism M is installed between them.
  • a connecting rail 400 is mounted overlapping on the jamb for overhanging the frame.
  • the tunnel box is placed at the right height and at its ends on building elements of the current masonry. It is secured to it by pouring a binder behind the cheeks and pouring into a suitable formwork of a lintel on the top of the tunnel box.
  • the lower cross member and the side jambs of the frame are then fixed to the wall.

  • the connecting rail 400 further comprises an intermediate branch 410 joined perpendicularly by two lateral branches 420, 430 parallel to each other.
  • An articulated tongue 460 is connected to the connecting rail 400 to be secured to the upper cross member TS of the frame D.
  • the tongue consists of several lamellae joined in pairs, by means of junction areas of smaller thickness, him providing the ability to deploy to the top rail to be attached, as suggested by the arrow L on the thumbnail view. An airtight and watertight connection can thus be obtained between the tunnel box and the frame.
  • a protrusion 470 protrudes under the intermediate branch 410, to enhance the transverse rigidity of the connecting rail. From this hollow protuberance is connected the articulated tongue 460. The edge of the hollow protuberance 470, on the side of which is connected the articulated tongue 460, is offset from the lateral branch 430. This extends under the level of the intermediate branch 410 to serve, in cooperation with said offset edge, wedging means of a spacer 480, provided to be placed between the connecting rail 400 and the free end of the articulated tongue 460 to stiffen the connection between the rail and the upper crossbar and therefore increase the rigidity of this cross.
