- the technical problem at the base of the present invention is to provide a capsuling machine with such structural and operating features as to fit capsules made either of plastic or metal material, without the above-mentioned drawbacks.

- the turret is stopped such that the rolling heads 20 and the thermoforming heads 21 are aligned with the underlying housings 12, where the bottles B are arranged thereon; however, once the turret 10 takes one of the two positions, it is blocked during the machine operating cycle.
- the latter provides the bottles B loaded by a rotating transfer star device 30 known per se, to be discharged into the housings 12 of the disk 11 by the help of a fixed guide 31; a similar star device is provided downstream the capsuling machine 1, for discharging the processed bottles therefrom.
- bottles B are placed by the device 30 on trays or plates 35 which are attached to the ends of a respective rod 36 associated to each piston 3.
- the rod 36 is guided at the top by a ring 37 sealing the cylindrical chamber 38 associated to the piston 3, while at the bottom it is connected to a roller 39: the latter can roll along one of the two cam profiles 6 and 7 formed on the base 5 of the machine, depending on the selected mode.
- roller 39 is connected to a plunger 40 which is pneumatically controlled, such to raise or lower the rod taking the roller 39 in contact once with the lower cam profile 6, and once with the upper cam profile 7.
- the upper turret 10 is brought in the condition of fig. 2 , where rolling heads 20 are arranged above the housings 12 of the bottles.
- the heating heads 21 that in this operating step of the machine are not operating, through the rotation of the turret are arranged above the gaps between two adjacent housings 12 of the disk.
- the disk 11 has four housings 12 for the bottles, which are arranged offset by 90°, and this number allows a sufficient space between one housing and the other one to be provided in order to arrange there the operating heads that are not operating in a cycle of the machine.
- the turret 10 is stopped in such condition and bottles are loaded on the machine I by the appropriate device 30; as it can be seen in fig.2 , in this step the roller 39 associated to each rod 36 rolls along the lower cam profile 6, as there is no pneumatic pressure into the pistons 3: the weight of the bottle arranged on the plate 35 therefore keeps the roller 39 pushing against the cam profile 6.
- the latter has a shape with a first upward portion and a second downward portion, at which the bottles are raised and lowered respectively, thereby bringing their neck into the operating heads 20 to roll the capsule.
- the turret 10 is released from the condition of figure 2 and is switched to the condition of figure 3 , where heating heads 21 are arranged above the housings 12 where bottles to be capsulated will be loaded.
- the latter is discharged from the capsuling machine 1 by means of a star device placed downstream thereto, in a position symmetric to that of the similar loading device 30.
- the machine 1 needs only to switch the turret 10 to carry rolling heads 20 or heating heads 21 above the housings 12: this operation requires a short time since the mechanical stop maintaining the turret 10 in one condition or in the other condition needs only to be removed; therefore the downtime for changing over the machine are very reduced.
- the machine according to the invention is able to roll or heat the metal or thermoplastic capsules, in an optimal manner due to the fact that the respective times during which the bottles are engaged with the operating heads 20, 21 are different.

- a capsuling machine wherein bottles are arranged on plates moved from and towards the operating heads, by means of radial arms similar to those of normal amusement carousels can be considered as a possible further solution.
- the invention is suitable for being used for fitting capsules to bottles of wine, beer, oil and other liquids (not only beverages), that can have shapes very different from one another: as it is known beer bottles have the so called “crown” caps, while wine bottles have corks different than the mushroom corks of sparkling wine bottles, or oil bottles have screw plugs, etc...
- the field of application of the invention therefore has not to be limited only to one of these cases, but on the contrary it has to be extended to all bottle productions where a capsule is used.
