Description

  • The present invention concerns an advertising cover-portfolio of a newspaper for public use according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • GB 164 454 A relates to a means for facilitating the reading of newspapers, applicable also as an advertising device. Such means is in the form of a clip mechanism made up of a wire or other material containing a certain springiness and forming a loop to hold together papers and documents.
  • From GB 20 399 A a combined advertising cover and holder for newspapers is known having a wooden binder for the cover together with the newspaper. On the outside and inside of the cover any desired advertisements can be printed or otherwise displayed.
  • The preamble of claim 1 is based on JP 2004 082508 disclosing a holder case for newspaper, made up of a cover part and a rear cover part, both formed of a transparent or translucent synthetic resin coupled by a small hinged spine. The cover part comprises a small pocket that may contain a memo.
  • It is known that persons often read newspapers in public areas, particularly clients of pubs, bars and quick food restaurants where they have usually a copy of one or more daily newspapers at their disposal to skim through, while they are drinking a beverage or tasting any refreshment.
  • Usually newspapers are left on a resting plane - for example a small table - or are placed or are hanging up to a suitable board where each client can easily take them and set them back after he has read them.
  • The presence of daily newspapers in public areas and their consequent manner of use causes that one single copy of a newspaper is seen by a relevant number of active persons and therefore it will have a great communicative value a mean that, together with the daily newspaper, has the aim to diffuse advertisements, independently from the daily newspaper itself.
  • Such means of communication, combined with the daily newspaper, should allow to house and include mobile sheets having printed advertisements and such sheets should be easily replaceable.
  • All the above should be made of a material of easy workability, economic and easy to use, so that it could be easily replaced in case of damage due to its repetitive usage.
  • A first aim of the present invention is to provide a cover-portfolio for daily newspapers provided with means suitable to house mobile sheets of advertising prints.
  • A second aim is that said cover is provided to be used according to a manner that allows the change of the daily newspaper independently from that of the mobile sheets.
  • An other aim is to allow the vision of the mobile sheets independently from the consultation or reading of the newspaper contained in the cover.
  • A further aim of the present invention is to obtain that the above mentioned characteristics can be achieved through the use of economic material which allows an easy manufacture at low costs.
  • These and further aims and advantages will more clearly arise from the preferred but not exclusive embodiment of the invention wherein an advertising cover-portfolio of a newspaper for public use comprises housing means of a multi-sheets printed matter like a daily newspaper fit for steady attachment to the cover-portfolio itself, further housing means of advertising mobile sheets, which enables such mobile sheets to be easily replaced, while allowing the vision of said advertising sheets independently from the reading of the daily newspaper, all the above illustrated by way of example in the attached drawings in which:
    • figure 1 shows an overall view of a cover-portfolio for daily newspapers open, in the first phase in which the advertising mobile sheets are inserted;
    • figure 2 shows the same open cover-portfolio in the second phase in which a newspaper is inserted;
    • figure 3 shows the cover-portfolio closed, in which both the newspaper's heading and the first advertising sheet are visible.
  • With reference to the figures, it is indicated with 1 an advertising cover-portfolio of a newspaper for public use, said cover 1 is made of a translucent, flexible and welded material, for example an acetate or a PVC sheet, and has a rectangular shape whose transversal size is slightly bigger than those of an open daily newspaper, whereas the longitudinal shape is exceeding the newspaper itself, both at the top and at the bottom, to obtain two zones 16 and 17 which will remain free after the insertion of the daily newspaper inside the cover; said cover is made of two translucent sheets 2 and 3, overlapped and welded on three consecutive sides 4, 5, 6, so to form an envelope 10 which is open only on the top side 7.
  • Said cover-portfolio 1 has centrally a linear and continue stitching 11 which starts from the median point 12 of the side 5 and ends at the median point 13 of the opposite side 7, so to obtain two identical and specular insertion pockets 14 and 15.
  • On the two transversal zones 16 and 17, in correspondence to the linear and continue stitching 11, next to the two median points 12 and 13, two first small circular holes 8 and 9 and two second small circular holes 18 and 19 are longitudinally placed, through which an elastic band 20 passes, which is duly adjustable through two external blocking elements respectively 20a and 20b; the size of the portion from the first internal circular hole 8 and the second internal circular hole 18 is opportunely fixed so that a daily newspaper can be housed between them.
  • Said daily newspaper 30, opened in its central page, will be passed beneath said band 20 so long as the central raised spine of the newspaper coincides exactly with the band 20 and can be stopped by it.
  • The axial linear stitching 11 will thus constitute externally the spine 21 along which the cover-portfolio will be folded and closed.
  • Further, on the transversal top zone 16, next to the couple of small circular holes 18 and 19, there are two slot openings 28 and 29 which, once the cover is closed with the daily newspaper inside, will allow to hang it up to a hook or to any other wall support.
  • In each of the two insertion pockets 14 and 15, two sheets having the advertisements 24, 34 and 25, 35 will be respectively housed; said sheets have such a size to leave free a top zone coincident with the newspaper heading to let it visible; said advertising sheets will be coupled with the printed face outwardly in such a manner that once inserted into the insertion pockets they correspond in a sequence to:
    • 1st sheet = cover
    • 2nd sheet= inside cover
    • 3rd sheet= inside back cover
    • 4th sheet= back cover
  • It is obvious that in any moment it could be easy to change the daily newspaper after having unblocked it by loosening the band 20, replacing the new newspaper; in the same manner, it will be extremely easy to replace the advertising sheets by taken out the old ones from the insertion pockets and inserting the new ones. The same cover can be personalized with prints or indications referred to the public areas (pub, bar, restaurant) where it is used, to the daily newspaper itself, to the services offered, to the advertising agency or to its sponsors.
