the pressure roller assigned to one end area is arranged offset from each other with respect to the pressure roller assigned to the two end areas in the transport direction (x) of the pieces of hose. - A method for producing bags from pieces of hose, which can be transported transversely to their extension direction by the device, wherein the pieces of hose preferably comprise a fabric consisting of stretched plastic strips and of two layers of material arranged one above the other, and wherein:- Parts of the end of the piece of hose can be folded back onto a wall of the piece of hose by means of at least one device for opening an end of a piece of hose, so that said opened end can be attached to a bottom and- at least parts of the opened end can be pressed by at least one pressure means, which is designed as a rotatable pressure roller (23, 23'), against a counter-layer in order to form fold edges,- the piece of hose can continue to be transported in the direction of transport (x) once an end of said piece of hose has been opened and before the pressing,characterized in that
the pressure roller (23, 23') with the counter-layer forms a gap with an adjustable, but fixed gap size, through which at least parts of the opened bottom are guided.
