- Spray gun (10) for the discharge of spray product, comprising a housing (16); a receiving installation (33) for optionally receiving spray-product containers (32a, 32b) of dissimilar heights; a handle (18) for holding the spray gun (10), and an extension installation (20), provided on the handle (18), for extending the length of the handle (18) so as to adapt the length of the handle (18) to the height (H1, H2) of a spray-product container (32a, 32b), disposed on the receiving installation (33), in such a manner that the handle (18) and the spray-product container (32a, 32b) conjointly form a placement space for placing the spray gun (10), wherein the extension installation (20) has at least one extension element (38; 60) that is fastened to the handle (18) so as to be adjustable thereon in the longitudinal direction thereof, wherein a locking installation with the aid of which the extension element (38; 60) is lockable in a plurality of positions is provided, wherein the positions which are lockable with the aid of the locking installation are defined positions, characterized in that the locking installation has at least two toothed components (38, 52, 46, 50; 60, 62, 68, 70) that are specified such that said toothed components may be caused to mutually engage or disengage, and that said toothed components define the plurality of positions, wherein locking is performed in the engaged state of the toothed components (38, 52, 46, 50; 60, 62, 68, 70), wherein the locking installation has at least one spring element (43; 72) which biases the toothed components (38, 52, 46, 50; 60, 62, 68, 70) towards the engaged state of the latter, and wherein the biasing force of the at least one spring element (43) is chosen to be so large that the locked position of the extension element (38). is maintained when the spray gun (10) is placed, and chosen to be so small that the locking of the extension element (38) is capable of being overcome by a manual force acting on the extension element (38).
- Spray gun (10) according to Claim 1, characterized in that the extension element (38; 60) is received in a cavity (36) of the handle (18) that is open towards the free end of the handle (18).
- Spray gun (10) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that at least one guide (41; 61) for guiding the adjustment movement of the extension element (38; 60) is provided.
- Spray gun (10) according to Claim 1, characterized in that at least one of the toothed components (68, 70) is operatively connected to an activation mechanism (64) which is specified in such a manner that the engaged state of the toothed components (68, 70, 60, 62) is released upon activation of said activation mechanism, counter to the biasing force of the spring element (72).
- Spray gun (10) according to Claim 4, characterized in that the activation mechanism (64) has a lever (68) which is disposed in such a manner that the latter reduces the force that is required in order for the engaged state of the toothed components (68,70, 60, 62) to be released.
- Spray gun (10) according to Claim 4 or 5, characterized in that the activation mechanism (64) has an activation element (74) that is disposed on the handle (18) and is externally accessible.
