Definitions
- the present invention relates to a disengagement device for a watch mechanism, comprising two coaxial wheels capable of coupling one to the other in rotation in at least one direction by means of respective coupling elements arranged on their sidewalls facing each other, one of the coaxial wheels, called the clutch wheel, being movable in the axial direction and biased by a return spring tending to engage the coupling elements.
- the invention also relates to a watch movement comprising such a device, in particular in an automatic winding mechanism.
- the directional rectifier device is formed by a pair of unidirectional clutch wheels arranged in parallel, for example wheels with wheels or ratchets.
- the barrel spring in its armed state, is supported on the gear train tending to rotate in the opposite direction to the winding, but the rectifier device blocks this reverse rotation, thus preventing disarmage of the mainspring as the retaining pawl acting on the barrel ratchet in manual winding movements.
- This ratchet is nevertheless retained in the majority of self-winding caliber to prevent the disarming of the spring when removing the automatic winding module, but it has the disadvantage of causing some loss of energy during reassembly. This is why we tend to remove it where the rectifying device of the automatic winding is able to oppose the disarming of the barrel.
- this device is generally arranged to disengage automatically during manual winding of the barrel, to avoid rotating at high speed the first elements of the automatic winding train.
- the clutch can be described as lateral or vertical, depending on the direction of movement of the movable clutch element.
- the disengagement device is usually of the lateral type, the clutch element moving laterally relative to the axes of the automatic winding train.
- This movable element is an intermediate wheel which, to be released from the ratchet or a ratchet gear, is carried by a rocker associated with a manual control and a return spring.
- a rocker associated with a manual control and a return spring.
- disengageable device of the lateral type uses a jumper or a jumper spring, carried by a wheel and applying on the top of the teeth of a toothed wheel of the star type.
- the patent CH 655221 shows the use of such a device in combination with a second time zone indicator and the associated corrector.
- the use of such a jumper device in an automatic winding train is not conceivable because it would be too difficult to control it manually.
- a disengagement device of the so-called vertical type that is to say with displacement perpendicular to the plate of the movement, in combination with two types of automatic winding mechanisms.
- the vertical axis of the disengaging device is conventionally supported by stones in the plate and the barrel bridge. It carries the last wheel of the reduction gear, provided with a Breguet toothing on its upper face.
- the clutch wheel provided with a corresponding Breguet toothing is rotatable and sliding on the vertical axis and remains in permanent engagement with a gear meshing on the ratchet of the barrel.
- the clutch wheel further comprises a barrel having a circular outer groove.
- a tilting control lever ending in a fork engaged in said circular groove, is biased by a return spring to maintain or bring back the Breguet teeth in coupling.
- a watchmaker By acting on the other end of this lever, a watchmaker can cause the disengage to disarm the barrel.
- Breguet gear teeth are disengaged by overcoming the effect of the return spring.
- a notable disadvantage of the aforementioned construction lies in the resisting torque caused by the friction of the control lever in the groove of the clutch wheel, because this friction is exerted at a distance from the axis of rotation. In addition, there is the need for careful lubrication. Another disadvantage is that the axis of the disengagement device occupies the entire height of the space between the plate and the barrel bridge, preventing another element from occupying part of this height. Finally, the control lever and its attachment to the plate take up space next to the disengaging device.
- the main subject of the present invention is a disengaging device making it possible to largely avoid the drawbacks of the prior art by means of a simple and compact construction.
- the invention also relates to watch movements incorporating such a device in various ways.
- the invention relates to a disengagement device of the kind indicated in the preamble, characterized in that the wheel clutch is attached to a sliding shaft which is rotatably and slidably mounted in fixed bearings
- the clutch wheel being integral with the axis of the clutch device, can have a low height by removing the circular groove, while being perfectly guided since the guidance is provided by the bearings in the vicinity of the ends. of the sliding axis.
- the force of the return spring instead of exerting itself on the clutch wheel and therefore at a certain distance from the axis of rotation, can advantageously be applied to one end of the sliding axis, therefore to a zero distance from the axis of rotation.
- the return spring comprises an elastic blade bearing directly against one end of the sliding shaft. The entire clutch device can thus have a reduced height.
- watch movements comprising such a disengaging device, in particular in an automatic winding mechanism and / or in a manual winding mechanism, or in the work train of a second time zone indicator.
- the automatic winding mechanism 1 represented in the Figures 1 to 4 conventionally comprises a rotating eccentric mass which, when it rotates under the effect of the movements of the wearer, arms the spring of a cylinder of the watch movement of the watch. In order to clarify the drawings, this eccentric mass is not shown. In this example, she is away from the center of the movement.
- the gear of the mechanism 1 is made in the form of a module whose frame comprises a frame 2, a bridge 3 and an additional plate 4, assembled by screws 5.
- the input wheel of this wheel is a 6 which is engaged with the pinion (not shown) integral with the eccentric mass, while the output element is the wheel 7 driving the ratchet 8 fixed to the shaft 10 of the barrel 9.
- Referral 6 when rotated in one direction or the other, causes a rectifier means formed by a conventional pair of ratchet wheels 11 and 12, the output gear 13 rotates in one direction and causes a reduction gear comprising two successive wheels 14 and 15.
- the latter is provided with a long pinion 16 meshing on a clutch wheel 17 which is driven on a clutch shaft 18.
- This axle 18, rotatably and slidably mounted in clockwork stones 24 and 25 carried respectively by the bridge 3 and the barrel bridge 31, is pushed permanently towards the barrel bridge (that is, upwards in the figure 3 ) by a leaf spring 26 fixed to the bridge 3 by means of a screw 27.
- the end of the axis 18 is preferably curved, the torque due to the friction of the spring when the axis rotates is substantially zero and the lubrication does not poses no problem.
- the axis 18 can slide along its axis of rotation 19, when it is constrained, against the force of the spring 26 which is relatively low. This sliding allows the operation of a disengaging device 20 having Breguet teeth 21 and 22, that is to say, sawtooth profiles, respectively disposed on the mutually opposite sides of the wheels 17 and 7.
- the driving wheel 7 is rotatably and slidably mounted on the axis 18. Apart from the particular case illustrated by the figure 4 , its central hub 7a is held in abutment against the stone 25 by the force of the spring 26, producing a low friction torque due to the small diameter of the hub 7a.
- the disengagement device 20 is said to be vertical because its movable clutch element 17 moves in the direction of its axis 19, described as vertical because perpendicular to the general plane of the plate 30 of the clockwork movement.
- the clutch wheel 17 may have a total height much lower than in the case of the patent CH 352624 on the one hand thanks to the suppression of the circular groove and on the other hand because its stability is ensured by its attachment to the axis 18, supported in turn by sufficiently spaced bearings. This reduces the height of the disengagement device and its axis 18, releasing between this axis and the frame 2 a space used to enlarge the wheel 15 of the reduction gear.
- the mechanism is in the state represented in figure 3 .
- the slight axial thrust of the return spring 26 against the end of the clutch shaft 18 keeps the clutch wheel 17 bearing against the ratchet driving wheel 7, with the Breguet toothing engaged one inside the other as shown in the diagram of the figure 2 .
- the oscillating weight of the automatic winding rotates, it rotates the Breguet toothing 21 in the direction of the arrow A, which causes the Breguet toothing 22 in the direction of the arrow B by the support of the vertical faces of the teeth and therefore makes turn the wheel 7, the ratchet 8 and the shaft 10 to refit the mainspring.
- the figure 4 represents the case of a manual intervention of a watchmaker to disengage the automatic winding train when it is necessary to disarm the barrel 9, for example during disassembly of the movement. It suffices to overcome the thrust of the spring 26 by exerting an axial force F on the end 18a of the axis 18 which protrudes beyond the corresponding bearing 25, for example with a tool 32 or a weight, while holding the winding stem so that the barrel does not disarm instantly.
- the driving wheel 7 is retained by the plate 4, the clutch wheel 17 remains engaged with the pinion 16, the Breguet teeth 21 and 22 are completely disengaged. one of the other and the wheel 7 is disengaged.
- the present invention makes it possible to realize an automatic watch winding mechanism with a simpler and more reliable construction than the prior art, while reducing the losses of energy by friction and gaining space.
- the construction of the disengaging device may differ from what the drawings represent without departing from the scope of the invention claimed herein.
- other forms of conjugated coupling elements may be provided, provided that at least one of these elements comprises a ramp-shaped part on which the element conjugate can slip or roll to push the clutch wheel against the force of the spring in one of the rotating directions of the device.
- a vertical disengagement device consists in incorporating it into a manual winding train, thus connecting a winding stem to the spring barrel by acting for example on the ratchet 8 shown in FIGS. figures 3 and 4 .
- This disengaging device may be of similar construction to that of the previous example. It can coexist with that one in an automatic watch, thus preventing automatic winding rotates the winding crown, a function that is usually provided by a lateral disengagement device.
- FIG. 5 schematically shows a time display wheel on the dial 40 of a watch, with an additional hand to indicate the time of a second time zone.
- a center tube 41 fixed to the plate 30 carries concentric rotary elements comprising: the floor 42 provided with the minute hand (not shown), a barrel 43 provided with the normal hour hand (not shown) and the hour wheel 44, and an additional barrel 45 provided with a wheel 46 and a second time zone needle 47 which cooperates with a twenty-four hour scale on the dial 40.
- the hour wheel 44 making two turns per day, is driven by the pinion of the floor 42 via a conventional timer wheel 48. It itself drives the time zone wheel 46 at the speed of one revolution per day via a gear wheel 49 which includes a device of declutching 50 according to the present invention.
- the gear wheel 49 replenishes in turn the two functions of geared transmission and disengagement.
- the entry element of the disengaging device is the clutch wheel 51 whose axis 52 is rotatably and slidably mounted in bearings 53 and 54 formed by stones in the plate 30 and a holding plate 55.
- the shaft 52 and the wheel 51 are continuously urged toward the dial by a leaf spring 56 pressing against the end of the shaft 52.
- the toothing of the wheel 51 is wide enough to remain engaged with the wheel 51. the wheel 44 when the axis 52 slides.
- the output member of the disengagement device is a driving wheel 58 which is engaged with the time zone wheel 46 and with a return 60 forming part of a time zone corrector.
- the wheel 58 is pivotable on the axis 52 and retained axially between the stone 54 and a limiting bridge 61.
- the wheels 51 and 58 of the clutch device 50 comprise respective coupling elements arranged on their flanks facing each other and held coupled by the slight axial thrust of the spring 56.
- These elements are constituted for example by clutch teeth with symmetrical inclined flanks, to be able to transmit the rotation of the hour wheel 44 to the needle 47 in both directions, especially when you put the watch on time, and to disengage in both directions.
- the action of the user on the corrector rotates the reference 60, the driving wheel 58, the time zone wheel 46 and the needle 47 in one direction or the other, while a corresponding rotation of the clutch wheel 51 is prevented by the hour wheel 44.
- the clutch wheel 51 is pushed back against the spring 56, so that the second time zone indicator is thus momentarily disengaged from the watch movement and can turn manually in steps of one hour (or half an hour in some cases), the elements of coupling constituting a notching which corresponds to the successive time zones.

Abstract
Description
figure 3 .
