  1. Door for a refrigerating appliance with an outer envelope foamed with insulation material, which comprises an outer plate (1) covering an outer side of the door and at least one part of lateral flanks (3) of the door in one piece, wherein a lateral edge (5-11) of the outer plate (1) features at least one section (6, 7) angled away from the lateral flank (3) into the inside of the door, which section forms one side of a grip channel (9) recessed from the lateral flank (3) into the door, wherein the lateral edge (5-11) of the outer plate (1) is reinforced by at least one section (6, 7) at a distance from the outer and inner side of the door angled away from the lateral flank (3) into the inside of the door, wherein the upper and/or the lower side of the door is or are closed off by a head piece (25),
    characterised in that
    the grip channel (9) is covered at at least one of its longitudinal ends by an inserted moulded section (21), wherein the head piece on a front side features a groove (26) for accepting a section (4) angled away from an edge of the outer plate (1) and wherein the head piece (25) is connected to the moulded part (21) by tongue (26) and groove (24).
  2. Door according to claim 1, characterised in that the section (6, 7, 18) is essentially aligned in parallel to the outer side of the door.
  3. Door according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the section (6, 7, 18, 20) is a one-piece component of the outer plate (1).
  4. Door according to claim 3, characterised in that the outer plate (1) extends in one piece over the entire lateral flank (3).
  5. Door according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the longitudinal ends of walls (6, 7, 8) of the grip channel (9) engage into a groove (22) of the moulded section (21).
