The invention relates to a cable end according to the preamble of claim 1.
So far, no standard for the connection of high-voltage cables in hybrid and / or electric vehicles has been able to establish. Frequently, high-voltage cables are only prototypically connected via cable lugs and makeshiftly sealed.
The disadvantage lies in a lack of electromagnetic shielding and inadequate sealing of the high-voltage cable attachment.
Object of the present invention is thus a cable end with good electromagnetic shielding and reliable sealing.
The object is achieved by a cable end with the features of claim 1. Advantageous developments of the invention will become apparent from the dependent claims, wherein also combinations and further developments of individual features are conceivable with each other.
A cable end piece according to the invention comprises a shielding sleeve, onto which the shielding braid of the cable is mounted. In addition, the cable end piece comprises a crimp sleeve. At a first point, the first "crimping point", is the crimping sleeve overlying the screen braid and shielding sleeve crimped in such a way that the shielding sleeve and shielding braid are thereby electrically connected to one another. At a second crimp location where the outer jacket of the cable is not severed, the crimp sleeve is crimped to the outer cable jacket. In this case, the shielding sleeve does not extend into the region of the second crimping point; it extends only to the region in which the outer cable sheath has been severed.
The advantage of this cable end is that due to the shielding the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is guaranteed. Due to the double crimping, the cable outer sheath is mechanically connected, which provides the required strain relief. The cable end is also extremely compact, includes few components and is therefore inexpensive to produce.
According to a preferred embodiment of the cable end piece, the shielding sleeve carries an environmental seal. This can be realized particularly preferably by an O-ring which is inserted into a groove.
As a result, the seal is significantly improved when connecting the cable end.
In addition, according to a further preferred embodiment of the cable end piece, the shielding sleeve can carry a shield connection. This can be realized particularly preferably by an EMC sealing ring which is inserted into a groove.
This further improves the EMC characteristics of the high-voltage connection.
According to a preferred embodiment of the cable end piece, a groove is provided in the shielding sleeve, in which a fastening element for locking the cable end piece comes to rest on a housing. As a fastener may preferably serve a mounting clip.
This embodiment has the advantage that a permanent attachment of the cable end piece is ensured on the housing.
The cable end piece is encapsulated with a plastic according to another preferred embodiment. As a plastic silicone is particularly suitable. Due to the shape of the plastic extrusion, the contact surface can be defined to the housing. The position of the contact surface determines the penetration depth of the cable end into the housing.
As a result, an additional sealing layer of the cable end piece is given. In particular, for the region of the cable end piece, which remains after connection to the housing outside the housing, this embodiment is highly recommended.
According to a preferred embodiment, the cable comprises two or more lines. The cable is thus a two- or mehrgliedriges high-voltage cable. A two-part cable may in particular comprise a plus and a minus line. The jacket of a single line is referred to as a cable jacket.
By combining several lines in one cable, EMC shielding and possibly seals and / or plastic encapsulation are saved.
The contacting of the cable end or the cable ends of the cable end with one or more terminals in the housing can be done according to a further preferred embodiment of one or more crimped cable lugs.
This connection design located inside the housing is simple and convenient. Together with a fastener already described, the connection of the high-voltage cable to the housing is stable and reliable. The connection can also be released again, whereby in the case of a defective cable, only the cable needs to be replaced, but the housing can be reused.
In the method according to the invention for producing a cable end piece, the cable outer sheath is cut off in the end region of the cable. A crimp sleeve is pushed onto the outer cable sheath. A shielding sleeve is attached to one or more conduit sheaths so that it surrounds all lines of the cable. The shield braid of the cable is drawn onto the shielding sleeve. The crimp sleeve is mounted on the screen braid and the shielding sleeve. The shielding sleeve and shielding braid are electrically connected to one another by crimping the crimping sleeve at a first location. The crimp sleeve is crimped at a second location with the outer cable sheath. The crimping can advantageously be carried out as a double round crimp.
The advantage of this manufacturing method is that it manages with few components and therefore is inexpensive.
According to a preferred manufacturing method, the cable end piece with plastic, particularly preferably silicone, overmolded.
In a further preferred production method, the shielding sleeve is provided with at least one groove for an environmental seal, a shield connection and / or a fastening element in the housing.
In the method according to the invention for mounting a cable end piece, the cable end piece is inserted into a housing opening provided for this purpose. Subsequently, the cable end is fastened by means of the fastening element to the housing and screwed or the cable lug (s) of the line (s) inside the housing.
The advantage of this assembly method lies in the ease of assembly, which is carried out in only three process steps (insert cable end, mount fastener and screw on cable lug).

First, the outer cable sheath (10) is separated in the end region of the cable, thereby creating the subsequent cavity (14). A crimp sleeve (12) is pushed from the right onto the outer cable sheath (10). Then a shielding sleeve (2) is attached to the two conductor sheaths (13) from the right. From the left, the braided shield (11) of the cable is mounted on the shielding sleeve (2), or the shielding sleeve (2) is pushed to the left "under" the braided shield (11) of the cable. Then, from the left, the crimp sleeve (12) is mounted on the braided shield (11) of the cable and the shielding sleeve (2). A cavity (14) remains between crimp sleeve (12) and screen braid (11). During the subsequent crimping, for example by a double round crimp, the components are reshaped and the cavity (14) is reduced or eliminated. By crimping twice the crimp sleeve (12) is on a First crimping point (21) on the right electrically connected to the shielding sleeve (2) with the shielding braid (11) of the cable and crimped at a second crimping point (22) left the crimp sleeve (12) with the outer cable sheath (10) ,
The illustrated cable end piece (1) was finally encapsulated with a plastic up to the outer area of the shielding sleeve (2) (4). The plastic extrusion (4) encloses a part of the outer cable sheath (10), the crimp sleeve (12) and thus the two crimping points (21, 22) and a small portion of the shielding sleeve (2).
