Definitions

  • the present invention relates to flexible shutters for shuttering berries.
  • the invention more particularly relates to a shutter device for closing a bay, comprising - at least one slide; a deformable flap, capable of being moved facing the bay, in one direction to cover said bay or in the opposite direction to discover it, said flap comprising at least one side bead which is slidably mounted in the slide and of which it can be extracted under the action of a defined traction force, directed transversely to the slide; and means for reintroducing into the slide the bead extracted therefrom, said means comprising a guide member which is arranged facing the slide and which is designed so that while moving the shutter in the opposite direction above, it deviates towards the slide, the bead that has been extracted from this slide.
  • the deformable flaps are commonly used for filling berries, especially for isolating warehouses or industrial halls. These flaps are often made of large flexible sheets whose side edges comprise beads that slide in slides located on either side of the bay to be closed. Fixing the flap side bolsters in the slides is retractable, so that they can leave the slides if they are subjected to a tensile force exceeding a defined critical value transversely to the slide.
  • the objective is to avoid damaging the flap in the event of an accidental impact, which may for example occur when a vehicle accidentally hits the flap in the closed or insufficiently open position. This type of component involves reintroducing into the slides, the side bolsters that would have come out accidentally, to put the shutter in operation.
  • EP-A 0 272 733 discloses a shutter device of the type described above, in which means are provided for the reintroduction of the side flanges of the flap in the slides is done automatically. This means consists in making a longitudinal opening in the top of the slideways, so that up the flap, the lateral beads thereof, which would come out of the slides return when they arrive in front of the opening.
  • the reintroduction means of the document EP-A 0 272 733 are improved.

  • the blocks are positioned on either side of the shutter and they are spaced from each other by a distance that is intermediate between the thickness of the shutter and that of the beads.
  • the blocks are positioned facing the opening of the slide, so that during the upward movement of the flap, the bead (which is out of its slide) slides against the two guiding blocks which guide it by pushing it thus in the opening of the slide.
  • the object of the invention is to provide an improved shutter device which avoids the drawbacks associated with the friction of the shutter on guide blocks during its reinsertion in the slideways.
  • the guide member comprises at least one pair of rollers which are respectively disposed on either side of the shutter so that, while the shutter is moved in the opposite direction above, they roll on the bead that has been extracted from the slide, pushing it into the slide.

The deformable flaps are commonly used for filling berries, especially for isolating warehouses or industrial halls. The objective is to avoid damaging the flap in the event of an accidental impact, which may for example occur when a vehicle accidentally hits the flap in the closed or insufficiently open position. This type of component involves reintroducing into the slides, the side bolsters that would have come out accidentally, to put the shutter in operation.
A 0 272 733 discloses a shutter device of the type described above, in which means are provided for the reintroduction of the side flanges of the flap in the slides is done automatically. This means consists in making a longitudinal opening in the top of the slideways, so that up the flap, the lateral beads thereof, which would come out of the slides return when they arrive in front of the opening.
In the document WO 03/048498, the reintroduction means of the document EP-A 0 272 733 are improved. In the shutter device of the document WO 03/048498, the means for reintroducing the lateral beads of the flap in the slideways comprises, in more than the aforementioned opening, a pair of guide blocks which are arranged on either side of the flap, in front of the opening. The blocks are positioned on either side of the shutter and they are spaced from each other by a distance that is intermediate between the thickness of the shutter and that of the beads. The blocks are positioned facing the opening of the slide, so that during the upward movement of the flap, the bead (which is out of its slide) slides against the two guiding blocks which guide it by pushing it thus in the opening of the slide.
In this known shutter device, the sliding of the flap of the shutter on the two blocks generates a frictional force which urges the shutter and hinders its upward movement.
Résumé de l'inventionIn the devices of documents EP-A 0 272 733 and WO 03/048498 which have just been described, it is necessary to make an opening in the slideway, whose width is sufficient to allow the passage of the bead to reintroduce it. Summary of the invention
The object of the invention is to provide an improved shutter device which avoids the drawbacks associated with the friction of the shutter on guide blocks during its reinsertion in the slideways.
For this purpose, according to the invention, the guide member comprises at least one pair of rollers which are respectively disposed on either side of the shutter so that, while the shutter is moved in the opposite direction above, they roll on the bead that has been extracted from the slide, pushing it into the slide. As used herein, the term "bay" refers to an opening in a wall or partition of a building or across the floor. The bay may be a vertical bay (for example a door or window through a vertical wall of a building), a horizontal bay (for example an opening through the ground or a horizontal roof of a building to give access to a chamber or cavity), or a bay oriented obliquely (as it may be the case of an opening made through an inclined roof). The invention is especially applicable to vertical bays. The shape of the bay is not critical. In practice, the bay is generally square or rectangular. The dimensions of the bay are not critical either. The invention is particularly applicable to vertical bays whose dimensions allow the passage of a land vehicle (for example a car, a truck, a semi-trailer or a trailer at the entrance of a warehouse of goods, an industrial workshop or an exhibition hall), an air vehicle (for example an airplane in a ground maintenance workshop) or a river vehicle (for example a houseboat, at the entrance of an 'an unloading warehouse) [illustrative, non-exhaustive list]. The invention also applies to horizontal bays made across the ground and delimiting for example a swimming pool, a pond or a pond for the storage and / or treatment of industrial materials (illustrative list, not exhaustive).
The term "shutter" designates, in the broad sense, a removable partition, which is at least partially flexible or flexible. The shutter can for example comprise a set of articulated slats, a tarpaulin, a canvas or a fence (illustrative list, not exhaustive). It can be totally or partially opaque, transparent or translucent. It may be metal or a (co) polymer obtained by chemical synthesis, for example polyvinyl chloride, optionally reinforced with a mineral material (for example glass fibers). Soft tarpaulins are preferred. In the device according to the invention, the shutter is designed, in a manner known per se, to cover the bay or discover it at will. For this purpose, the flap may be subject to displacements in opposite directions facing the bay, namely in one direction to cover the bay and in the opposite direction to discover it. In the remainder of this memoir, the expression "opposite direction" designates the direction of movement of the flap, for which the flap gradually discovers the bay. The slide serves to guide the shutter during its movements in the two opposite directions above. It can be substantially rectilinear and is arranged along the bay. The guiding of the flap is provided by at least one lateral bead of the flap, which is slidably mounted in the slideway. In cross section, the shape of the bead must be adapted to that of the slide, so that it is retained therein and can slide during the aforementioned displacements of the flap in front of the bay. Notwithstanding this general condition, the shape of the bead is not critical for the definition of the invention. The bead may for example have a circular or polygonal cross section, for example square, rectangular or hexagonal. The circular cross section is preferred. The bead can be an integral part of the shutter. Alternatively it can be attached to a flap edge and fixed thereto by any suitable means, for example by gluing, welding or riveting. The bead can be continuous or notched, and extend over the entire length of the side edge of the flap. Alternatively, the flap may comprise a row of several beads spaced along the side edge of the flap. In the continuation of this memory and in the absence of information to the contrary, the term "bead" denotes indistinctly a continuous lateral bead or serrated, or a lateral row of several beads. The slide generally comprises a profile whose cross section is adapted to that of the bead and which is pierced with a longitudinal slot for the passage of the flap. It may be made of any material adapted to its technical function, for example metal or (co) polymer obtained by chemical synthesis, for example high density polyethylene, optionally reinforced with a mineral material (for example glass fibers) . The position of the slide in the vicinity of the bay will depend on various parameters, including the orientation of the bay (horizontal orientation, oblique or vertical) and the direction of movement of the shutter to cover or discover the bay. In the case of a horizontal bay, the slide is usually horizontal. In the case of an oblique bay, the slide is usually oblique. In the case of a vertical rack, the slide can be vertical or horizontal depending on the direction chosen for the movement of the flap. The slide is vertical in the case where the shutter is moved vertically to open or close the bay. The slide is horizontal, in the case where the shutter is moved horizontally to open or close the bay. The position of the lateral bead on the flap is conditioned by the position of the slide with which the bead cooperates to guide the flap. The bead and the slide are furthermore designed and profiled so as to allow the bead to be torn off the slide, as soon as it is subjected to a defined tensile force (greater than a set value), directed in the plane of the flap and transversely to the slide. In this definition of the invention, the term "shutter plane" denotes a fictitious geometric plane, defined by the shutter when it covers the bay. The pulling of the bead of its slide under the action of the aforementioned force must be done without damaging the flap, the bead or the slide. The profile and the dimensions of the slide and the bead and their deformation capacities must therefore be adapted so that the tensile force required to tear the bead of the slide is less than a critical value likely to tear the shutter or deteriorate the slide or bead. The traction force must however be substantial and sufficient to prevent the bead unexpectedly coming out of the slide during normal operation of the shutter.
The shutter device according to the invention is further provided with a means designed so that, in the case where the bead has been torn off its slide, it is reintroduced automatically while the flap undergoes a displacement in the direction to discover the bay ("opposite direction" defined above). According to the invention, this means comprises at least one pair of rollers which are arranged on either side of the shutter, so that that during a displacement of the flap in the opposite direction aforesaid (for which it clears the bay), these rollers roll on the bead that has been torn off its slide and pushes it back into the slide. In the shutter device according to the invention, the position of the rollers facing the slide is of great importance. It must be chosen so that during the movement of the flap in the opposite direction, the rollers turn on the bead (which has been torn from the slide) and force it to cross the aforementioned longitudinal slot of the slide to penetrate in this one. To enhance this action of the rollers, it is recommended in an advantageous embodiment of the invention that the surface of the rollers is ribbed. In this way, a better adhesion of the bead to the rollers is achieved. In the device according to the invention, the distance between the two rollers must be greater than the thickness of the flap (so as not to hinder its movement in front of the bay) and less than the thickness of the flange (so that they take support on this one). A substantial gap is normally provided between the rollers and the slide. Ideally, this gap must be small enough that the force exerted by the rollers on the bead is sufficient to reinsert it into the slide. However, avoid a gap too small, to prevent the rollers, the bead and the slide are subjected to excessive mechanical forces. The optimum distance must therefore be determined in each particular case by those skilled in the art.
Cette forme de réalisation est adaptée à l'utilisation de volets d'épaisseurs différentes .In a particular embodiment of the shutter device according to the invention, the difference between the rollers is adjustable. This embodiment is adapted to the use of shutters of different thicknesses.
In another particular embodiment of the invention, an opening is made in the slide opposite the rollers. In this embodiment of the invention, the function of the opening is to reduce the force exerted on the bead during its reinsertion in the slide. In this embodiment of the invention, the rollers may be partially engaged in the opening of the slide, so as to roll permanently on the bead, even when it is normally in place in its slide. However, it is preferred to maintain a substantial gap between the rollers and the bead, for the reasons explained above.
In the shutter device according to the invention, the rollers can have any shape compatible with their technical function. In the shutter device according to the invention, the rollers are opposed to each other with respect to the median plane of the shutter (the median plane of the shutter has been defined above). Preferably, the rollers are arranged symmetrically on either side of the median plane of the shutter.
In the shutter device according to the invention, the rollers comprise axes of rotation which are opposed to each other with respect to the median plane of the shutter. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the fixed axes of rotation of the rollers are located symmetrically on either side of the median plane of the shutter. In this embodiment of the invention, the two axes of rotation of the two rollers are preferably situated substantially in the same geometrical plane and this is preferably substantially perpendicular to the median plane of the shutter.
Les galets sont avantageusement montés à rotation sur des roulements à billes ou d'autres roulements similaires .In another preferred embodiment of the invention, the two rollers converge towards the slideway. All other things being equal, the optimum angle of convergence of the two rollers is the result of a compromise between the search for a maximum value of the force exerted by the rollers to force the bead to enter the slide of which it was torn off and the search for a minimum wear of the rollers, the bead and the slide. The optimum convergence angle must therefore be determined in each particular case by those skilled in the art, depending on the circumstances. The rollers are advantageously rotatably mounted on ball bearings or other similar bearings.
Notwithstanding this condition, the dimensions of the rollers and the material in which they are made are not critical to the definition of the invention. The rollers may for example be metal (for example steel) or a (co) polymer obtained by chemical synthesis (for example polyester, or polyamide or elastomer).
Le profilé en U peut être en métal (par exemple en acier) ou en unIn a particular embodiment of the invention, the slides are provided with a reinforcing means in their area adjacent to the rollers. In this embodiment of the invention, the area adjacent the rollers is an area which is normally located in the immediate vicinity of the rollers, downstream thereof relative to the movement of the shutter in the opposite direction defined above. This reinforcing means may advantageously comprise a U-shaped section in which the slide is embedded. The U-shaped section may be made of metal (for example steel) or a
(co) polymère à haute résistance mécanique tel qu'une polyamide, par exemple.high-strength (co) polymer such as a polyamide, for example.
In an advantageous embodiment variant of the embodiment which has just been described, the rollers are fixed to a frame comprising the U-shaped section. This variant of the invention makes it possible to move the rollers at will along the slideway. . It also facilitates the replacement of the rollers, for example in case of wear or deterioration of them. For this purpose, in this variant of the invention, it is advantageous that the frame and the slideway are fixed on a fixed support, for example a metal frame disposed along the bay and sealed in a suitable structure, for example a masonry. . In a particular embodiment of this variant of the invention, the frame comprises an axial channel and at least a portion of the U-shaped section is constituted by this axial channel. In this embodiment of the invention, the frame is advantageously obtained by molding. In the device according to the invention, the flap may comprise a single slide and a single bead cooperating with said slide to guide the flap. In a particular embodiment of the invention, the flap comprises a second bead side which is slidably mounted in a second slide from which it can be extracted under the action of a defined traction force, directed transversely to the slide and a second pair of rollers which are arranged respectively on either side of the shutter so that, while moving the flap in the opposite direction, the rollers of said second pair roll on said second bead which has been extracted from said second slide, pushing it into this slide.
Brève description des figuresIn the shutter device according to the invention, the use of rollers to automatically reintroduce the or each bead of the flap in its slide has the advantage of considerably reducing the mechanical stresses exerted on the flap and the or each bead. As a result, the invention substantially increases the life of the shutters. The invention also relates to an element for the reintroduction of a lateral bead of a flap in a slide from which said bead has been extracted, this reintroduction element comprising a frame designed to be mounted on a support of the slide, the frame comprising, on the one hand, a U-shaped axial channel into which the slide can be embedded and, on the other hand, at least one pair of rollers which are located beyond one end of said channel and which are positioned so that when the slide is embedded in the channel of the frame, the rollers roll on the bead that has been extracted from the channel and forces it to enter when the flap is moved in a defined direction. In the reintroduction element according to the invention, the terms "shutter", "slide", "bead", "guide member" and "roller" have been defined above, as well as their respective functions. In a preferred embodiment of the reintroduction element according to the invention, the rollers have fixed axes of rotation and the two axes of rotation of the two rollers are situated symmetrically on either side of a median plane of the channel. U-shaped chassis. These two axes are preferably located in the same plane which is substantially perpendicular to said median plane of the channel and they are advantageously oriented obliquely so that the rollers converge towards the bottom of the channel. The reintroduction element according to the invention can be easily adapted to shutter devices according to the invention. It can be adapted to existing flaps comprising a lateral bead which slides in a guide rail. When mounting the reintroduction element according to the invention on an existing flap, the frame of the reintroduction element must be oriented so that the rollers are located downstream of the aforementioned channel, relative to the opposite direction defined more high. The invention finds many applications, in particular for shutting large vertical bays giving access to sheds or warehouses, or for covering basins filled with water (such as industrial pools for water treatment or swimming pools ) or to cover horizontal openings giving access to silos or other storage enclosures for goods or industrial products. Description détaillée de modes de réalisation particuliersDetailed description of particular embodiments
Les dimensions de la baie 1 permettent le passage d'un camion (non représenté) .Figures 1 to 3 show a vertical rack 1, pierced through a vertical partition 2 of a building, for example an industrial or commercial warehouse. The dimensions of the bay 1 allow the passage of a truck (not shown).
The partition 2 is equipped with a shutter device according to the invention. This shutter device comprises a shutter 3, formed of a flexible sheet, for example polyvinyl chloride reinforced with glass fibers. The shutter 3 is fixed, at its upper part, to a horizontal drum 4 situated above the bay 1. The drum 4 is coupled to an electric motor 5, the actuation of which enables the shutter 3 to be lowered to cover bay 1 and close the building or go up to discover bay 1 and allow the passage of a truck.
The slides 7, 8 are attached to a metal frame 9 which is sealed in the ground 6. The slides 7, 8 serve to guide the component 3 during its ascending and descending movements. For this purpose, the flap 3 is provided with two lateral beads 10 and 11, which are engaged in the slides 7 and 8. In FIG. 4, the beads 10 and 11 have a circular profile and their thickness is greater than that of the flap. 3. The slides 7 and 8 are profiles of circular section, extended by two wings 12 and 13 which delimit between them a vertical longitudinal slot 16. The width of the slot 16 is intermediate between the thickness of the tarp of the shutter 3 and the thickness of the beads 10 and 11. In this way, the beads 10 and 11 slide in the slides 7 and 8 during the lowering or raising of the flap 3. Each of the slides 7 and 8 is embedded in a frame 14 which will be explained further. The slides 7 and 8, particularly their wings 12 and 13, are designed so that the beads 10 and 11 can be released from the slideways through the slot 16, as soon as traction forces X and Y (Figure 4) are exerted on the bead, in the plane of the shutter and transversely to the slides. The case may for example occur when, the shutter is lowered or insufficiently raised, it is struck violently by a vehicle entering or exiting the warehouse. It is advantageous that the pulling force X, Y necessary to tear the beads 10, 11 of their respective slides 7 and 8 is as large as possible, to prevent the beads 10 and 11 from unexpectedly coming out of their slides 7 and 8 during the operation of the shutter 3. This pulling force must however remain below a critical value, so as to prevent the cover of the shutter 3 tears. FIG. 5 shows the shutter 3, the bead 10 of which has been torn from its slide 7.
The slides 7 and 8 are for example high density polyethylene.
The shutter device shown in the figures is equipped with an element according to the invention for the reintroduction of the bead 10 (or the bead 11) in its slide 7 (or 8), after it has been torn off. This device, best shown in Figures 6 to 10 comprises a frame 14 which is fixed to the frame 9 (Figures 1 and 3) in the upper part of the slide. The frame 14 is pierced with a straight axial channel 15 whose U-shaped profile allows to embed the slide 7, 8. The frame 14 is preferably a molded body of high-strength plastic material, for example a polyamide. In Figures 6 to 10, the slide 7 is embedded in the channel 15 of the frame 14. The chassis 14 has the function of reinforcing the rigidity of the slide 7 which is embedded therein. For this purpose, the frame 14 has two longitudinal wings 21 which bear respectively on the wings 12 and 13 of the slide 7. The frame 14 and its wings 21 must have sufficient rigidity to prevent deformation of the slide 7 in the frame 14 during reintroduction of the bead in the slide in the manner to be explained later. A sufficient gap must be provided between the two wings 21, to allow the passage of the flap 3. In its lower part, the frame 14 is equipped with a pair of rollers 17, mounted on ball bearings 18 set on fixed shafts 19. The shafts 19 are oriented so that the two rollers 17 are located symmetrically on either side of the axial plane of the slideway 7 and in the immediate vicinity of the slot 16 of the slideway 7. In addition, the rollers 17 are located near the lower end of the frame 14. This is thus located downstream of the rollers 17, relative to the direction of the raising of the flap 3. Figure 9 shows in detail the position of the rollers 17 on the frame 14 , in relation with the slide 7 which is embedded therein and with a bead 10 sliding in the slide 7. The two rollers 17 face the slot 16 of the slide 7 and they converge towards the slot 16. The gap between the two rollers 17 is chosen from man to maintain between each roller 17 and the flap 3 a distance A which is sufficient not to impede the normal operation of the flap, while preventing the bead 10 of the flap can pass between the rollers 17. Moreover, the rollers 17 are positioned to maintain a substantial distance B between them and the bead 10, when it normally slides in its slide 7. Figure 10 shows an advantageous embodiment of the invention, wherein the rollers 17 are ribbed to their periphery. The ribs 22 of the rollers 17 serve to enhance the adhesion of the rollers on the bead while that is reintroduced into its slide in the way that will be exposed further.
Le fonctionnement du dispositif de réintroduction selon l'invention va maintenant être explicité, en référence notamment aux figures 11 à 14.The operation of the reintroduction device according to the invention will now be explained, with particular reference to FIGS. 11 to 14.
In FIG. 11, it can be seen that the bead 10 of the flap 3 is normally engaged in its slideway 7. The bead 10 therefore slides normally in its slideway 7, to guide the flap while it is subjected to upward movements or descendants in the direction of arrows ZZ '.
Celui-ci n'est par conséquent pas sollicité par les galets 17, pendant un fonctionnement normal du volet3.An opening 23 has been cut in the slide 7 in front of the rollers 17. The opening 23 has been cut in the wings 12 and 13 of the slide 7. FIG. 12 shows a substantial distance B between the rollers 17 and the bead 10 This is therefore not solicited by rollers 17 during normal operation of shutter 3.
In FIGS. 13 and 14, the bead 10 of the shutter has been torn off its slide 7. By subjecting the shutter to an upward movement in the direction of the arrow Z, the bead 10 is pulled upwards in the direction of the arrow Z and it rolls on the rollers 17 which, turning in the direction of the arrow C, push the bead 10 through the opening 23 into the slide 7. Figure 14 shows the forces D exerted by the rollers 17 on the bead 10.
Pour des raisons de clarté du dessin, la glissière 7 n'est pas représentée.FIG. 15 shows a bead 27 of the flap 3, said bead 27 having a notched shape on either side of the median plane of the flap 3. Advantageously, the notched bead 27 is provided with a continuous shoulder 28 which provides the rollers 17 with a contact zone and continuous support. For the sake of clarity of the drawing, the slide 7 is not shown.
In FIG. 16, it can be seen that the reintroduction element according to the invention is integrated into a flap device comprising on each side a toothed return pulley 24 making it possible to give a change of direction to the flap 3, the return pulleys 24 being rotatably mounted and secured for example by an axis not shown. The return pulleys 24 may optionally drive the flap 3. The reintroduction element has a curvilinear portion 26 provided with a guide roller 25 which is intended to hold the serrated bead 27 in engagement with the deflection pulley 24 and to maintain it, whatever the direction of sliding, inside the channel 15, or the slide 7.
In the description of the figures, it was considered that the bay 1 is vertical and the flap is suspended from a drum 4 disposed above the bay. In this embodiment, the flap is subjected to an upward movement to discover the bay. However, the invention also applies to the case where the drum 4 is located in the bottom of the bay 1. In this modified embodiment of the invention, the drum may for example be housed in a gutter below the level of the ground. In this embodiment, the shutter is downwardly moved to discover the bay and upwardly to cover it. In another modified embodiment of the invention, the slide 7 is horizontal and disposed along the upper horizontal edge of the bay 1, while the slide 8 is disposed along the edge lower horizontal of the bay. In this embodiment of the invention, the beads 10 and 11 of the flap 3 are horizontal and the drum 4 is vertical and disposed along one of the vertical edges of the bay 1.
