Definitions

  • the subject of the present invention is an actuating device in its fall of a large control lever for displaying an instantaneous calendar of a timepiece provided with a perpetual or secular calendar mechanism such as a wristwatch or pocket watch in particular.
  • the perpetual or secular instantaneous calendar mechanisms generally comprise a large flip-flop controlling the passage from one day to the next of the date display.
  • this large control lever In order to be able to instantly display the transition from the last day of a month to the first day of the following month in a perpetual or secular calendar mechanism, this large control lever must be able to instantly advance the display of the date one, two, three or four steps to allow the 31st of a month to pass on the 1st of the following month, from the 30th of a month to the 1st of the following month, 29th of February of a leap year March 1 and February 28 to March 1 in non-leap years.
  • This large rocker is armed against the action of its spring for 24 hours by the date mechanism and released at midnight so that its fall under the action of its return spring moves the display of the date of a step at the end of 31 days, two steps at the end of the 30 days, three steps at the end of the 29 days and four steps at the end of the 28 days.
  • the amplitude of the arming stroke, and therefore of the fall, of the large rocker is determined by a cam of the months driven at a rate of one revolution per year and which has a secondary cam of the leap years.
  • a date display mechanism is described for example in the published European patent application. EP 1734419 .
  • the big rocker Instant date mechanism controls not only the date indicator but also the indicator of the name of the days and the indicator of the months.
  • the strength of the large rocker is sufficient to make the transition from 31 of a month to the 1 st of the following month, its return spring being few tense in this case and so that this force is not such that the date indicator jumps four or five steps while it should do three or four when the months of 28 and 29 days to the following month, the return spring of the large rocker being in this case very tight.
  • the object of the present invention is to provide an instant perpetual or secular calendar mechanism that avoids the aforementioned drawback and is therefore completely reliable and easier to adjust and adjust.
  • the mechanism of perpetual or secular calendar instantaneous according to the present invention is in its general architecture similar to that described in the European patent application EP 1734419 and differs from it only with regard to the actuating device of its large rocker in its daily fall.
  • the perpetual perpetual calendar mechanism itself will be described below only briefly and to the extent necessary to the understanding of the drive device of its large rocker in its fall.
  • the kinematic connection between the large rocker and the indicator of the days of the week and months is not illustrated or described, this being described in detail in the document cited above.
  • the instantaneous perpetual calendar mechanism illustrated comprises a date plate or plate 1, on which is pivoted a large rocker 2 about an axis 3.
  • This large rocker 2 comprises a pawl 32 driving the date indicator by a known kinematic, and if necessary the indicators of the day of the week and the month, by the finger of the days 44 respectively the finger of the months 38.
  • the arming of the large rocker 2 is carried out in a known manner using a date cam 6 integral with a date wheel 7 meshing with a date wheel 8 secured to the hour wheel of a wheel. clockwork movement.
  • This date cam 6 is driven at the rate of one revolution per twenty four hours.
  • a rake 9 is pivoted on the axis 3 of the large rocker 2 and comprises on the one hand a feeler 10 cooperating with the date cam 6 and on the other hand a toothing 11 cooperating with a lever 12 months.
  • month 12 is pivoted at 13 on the large rocker 2 and is connected to the rake 9 by a spring 14.
  • the first end 15 of the lever 12 months cooperates with the toothing 11 of the rake 9 and the second end 16 of the lever months 12 cooperates with a cam 17 months driven in rotation by the finger of the month 38 which has at its end a hook 43, articulated on the large rocker 2, during the fall thereof, at a rate of one revolution per year . This function will be described more precisely later.
  • This cam months also comprises a leap cam 20 driven quarter turn per year and having three first faces 21 equidistant from its axis of rotation 22 and a second face 23 located at a greater distance from the axis of rotation 22 as the first three faces 21 of this leap cam.
  • first three faces 21 is in a notch of the cam 17 months corresponding to the month of February, it determines the position that must occupy the lever months 12 for the month of February twenty-eight days.
  • the second face 23 When the second face 23 is located in said notch of the cam months, it determines the position of the month lever for the month of February leap years.
  • This mechanism makes it possible to arm each day the large rocker 2 with an amplitude corresponding to the current month and then at midnight to let it fall back under the action of its actuating device up to its rest position determined by the pin 5.
  • its pawl 32 During this daily fall of the large rocker 2, its pawl 32 instantly drives the date indicator every day of a step, except the last day of the month when this date indicator is instantly driven the number of steps necessary to position it on the first of the following month as described in particular in the document EP 1734419 .
  • the lever of the months 12 and the big rocker 2 occupy daily just after midnight a rest position during which the lever of the months 12 raises the number of days of the current month.
  • the rake 11 performs a no-load run for a predetermined distance before coming into contact with the lever of the months 12, this active distance being variable and depending on the number of days of the current month.
  • the large rocker 2 is driven via the lever of months 12 in a clockwise rotational movement whose amplitude is based on said number of days of the current month. Then the large flip-flop 2 makes a fall in the opposite direction at the end of this active phase by driving all the display mechanisms.
  • the date display mechanism includes a date indicator consisting of a rotating annular piece rotatably mounted on the calendar board 1 by means of rollers.
  • This annular part 30 has date inscriptions 1 to 31 on its front face. These inscriptions are large and visible in a date window that is larger than the window of the months and located at 12 o'clock.
  • the annular piece 30 is provided on its rear surface with a toothing which has the particularity of being internal and not through in the form of recesses 31.
  • the inscriptions 1 to 31 on the anterior face may be large for a width given the annular piece 30.
  • a large flip-flop 32 is pivotally mounted on the large flip-flop 2 by means of an axis 33 and arranged to cooperate with the toothing 31 of the annular piece 30 to blow up the date indicator daily with a single step during the fall of the big rocker 2, whatever the amplitude of the rotational movement of the big rocker 2.
  • a return spring 34 mounted on the large rocker 2 is arranged to urge, in the rest position, the big rocker pawl 32 against a pin 35 driven into the large rocker 2.
  • the date display mechanism further comprises a date jumper 36 arranged to cooperate with the toothing 31 of the annular piece 30 by the action of a spring 37. Due to the available space between two teeth of the toothing 31, this jumper 36 has three functional flanks.
  • Two sidewalls are oriented to reposition the annular piece 30 with a favorable and constant slip angle.
  • a third sidewall is arranged in such a way that the direction of the force applied to the teeth of the toothing 31 passes through the center of the axis of rotation of the date jumper 36.
  • the calendar mechanism also has a finger of months 38 which is articulated on the large rocker 2.
  • This finger is provided in its median portion of a projecting portion in the form of a pin 39 arranged to cooperate with an outer periphery 40 forming a cylindrical edge of the toothing 31 and with a notch 41 provided in this periphery.
  • the finger months has for this purpose an elastic extension 42 for biasing the pin 39 against said periphery 40 and, at the end of the month, in the notch 41 which is indexed with the teeth of the toothing 31 of the date indicator .
  • hook 43 For the jump of the months, one finds at the end of the finger of the months 38 a hook 43. For all the days except the last day of the month, the finger of the months 38 and its hook 43 remain raised thanks to the pin 39. Hook 43 thus passes next to a star of the months without dragging it at the fall of the big rocker 2 at midnight.
  • the pin 39 falls in the notch 41 and the hook 43 moves on a curve such that it causes a tooth of the star of the months on a step during the fall of the big rocker 2 at midnight.
  • the cam of the months 17 is also advanced by one step.
  • the day display mechanism is also controlled by the large flip-flop 2 and comprises for this purpose a day finger 44 which is pivotally mounted on the large rocker 2 by the same axis as the finger of the month 38.
  • the finger of days 44 is designed to blow a 45-day star every day, regardless of the race of the big rocker 2 when it falls at midnight.
  • This star of days 45 is attached to a disc of the days (not illustrated) carrying inscriptions of the days visible in a window.
  • the large latch 2 is driven in its fall, when the probe 10 falls from the upper part of the date cam 6 by a leaf spring.
  • the purpose of the present invention is to allow the removal of this regulator of the falling speed of the large scale that is complex while avoiding any malfunction of the date mechanism by replacing the return spring of the large scale by a device of particular actuation of this large rocker.
  • This device for actuating or driving the large rocker 2 in its fall has a pin 24 driven into the free end 25 of the large rocker 2.
  • This actuating device further comprises a first large spring 26 fixed under the calendar board 1 and constantly resting on the pin 24 through the large rocker. So, as we see on the Figures 3 to 7 , whatever the angular position of the rocker, at rest, figure 1 , or to his maximum armor from a day from a month of February to twenty-eight days, figure 7 this first return spring 26 always exerts a force on the pin 24. This first return spring thus allows to maintain the large rocker 2 in the rest position between its active phases of arming and falling.
  • this angle ⁇ varies as a function of the angular position of the large rocker 2.
  • the angle ⁇ is 41 ° ( figure 4 ).
  • this angle ⁇ is 31 °.
  • the large flip-flop 2 is in the maximum emergence position for a month of 29 days, this angle ⁇ is 19 ° and when the large flip-flop occupies its maximum lifting position for a month of 28 days, the angle ⁇ is 10 °.
  • this angle ⁇ and its variations as a function of the angular position of the large rocker 2 depends on the positioning of the first large rocker spring 24 on the date plate 1 relative to the pivot point 3 of the large rocker 2 and also positioning of the pin 24 with respect to this pivot axis 3 of the large rocker 2.
  • a second large rocker spring 27 is fixed on the date plate 1 in a position such that its flexible blade extends to rest substantially along a straight line passing through the axis of rotation 3 of the large rocker 2 and the pin 24 when the large rocker 2 is in its maximum lifting position for a month of 30 days.
  • This second large flip-flop is fixed on the face of the date plate 1 opposite to that where the first return spring 26 of this large flip-flop is fixed.
  • the pin large rocker 24 is through and through this board through an opening thereof.
  • the fall of the large flip-flop 2 from its maximum lifting positions of 31 days and 30 days is ensured only by the first large flip-flop spring 26.
  • the force of the spring 26 increases between these two positions but the lever arm used decreases so that the torque transmitted to the large flip-flop 2 is substantially constant during the fall of the large flip-flop from one of these two positions.
  • the positioning of the second large rocker spring 27 is such that the lever arm with which the force of the spring is transmitted to the large rocker 2 is substantially constant so that the greater tension of the second spring as a function of the arming of the large flip-flop 2 compensates for the loss of torque provided by the first spring of large flip-flop 26 due to the decrease of the angle ⁇ .
  • the resulting torque delivered to the large rocker 2 by the two springs 26 and 27 is substantially constant regardless of the arming position of the large rocker 2 before its fall.
  • the combination of two large rocker springs, as described above, is a preferred embodiment of the actuator of this large rocker during its fall because in addition to the characteristic of the springs can be played on their positions by compared to the pin through 24 of the large rocker and also with respect to the pivot axis of this large rocker to obtain a force acting on the pin 24 of the large rocker that is substantially constant during the fall of this large rocker whatever its degree of arming.
  • the angle ⁇ between the two blades of the return spring 26,27 of the large rocker 2 when they are at rest is of the order of 30 ° to 180 °, preferably 40 ° to 70 °, for example 55 ° in the example illustrated.
  • this device for actuating the large single-spring rocker can be envisaged by obtaining the desired result by acting on the characteristics of the spring and on its positioning only, allowing a modification of the torque transmitted to the large rocker by function of the degree of arming of the big rocker by the reduction of the arm of lever of application of the force of the spring on the big rocker. It is thus possible with a single spring by adjusting its position relative to the large scale according to its characteristics, to obtain a fall torque of the large rocker that is substantially constant regardless of its degree of arming.
