- the rubber-elastic shock edge 48 By providing the rubber-elastic shock edge 48, the risk of damage to the object to be cleaned, such as a motor vehicle, kept particularly low, because even if the cleaning bristles 25 bend in a strong unbalanced force of the washing brush 10 in a side region and thereby the housing 12th comes into contact with the object to be cleaned, there is virtually no risk of damage to the object. In particular, there is virtually no risk that the object will be scratched by the housing 12.
- the lower part 16 has in the central region 17 on the upper side a central projection 46. This forms a support for the delivery device 37, which rests on the upper side of the projection 46.
- the housing 12 is formed substantially triangular in plan view. It comprises in a rear portion adjacent to the feed line 22, two rounded corner portions 55, whereas a front end of the housing 12 facing away from the feed line 22 defines a sharp corner portion 57.
- the corner regions 55, 56 and 57 are connected to one another via convexly outwardly curved sides 51, 52, 53.
- Such an embodiment of the housing 12 has the advantage that even angled areas of an object can be reliably charged with liquid and can be cleaned mechanically by means of the cleaning bristles 25.
- washing brush 10 can thus be a very effective cleaning even of sensitive, complex shaped surfaces of an object, in particular a motor vehicle, can be achieved without the risk that surfaces are damaged by the washing brush 10.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a washing brush for cleaning an object, in particular a motor vehicle, with a housing, the pressurized cleaning liquid can be supplied and projecting from the underside cleaning bristles and which receives a dispensing device for the cleaning liquid.
Object of the present invention is to develop a washing brush of the type mentioned in such a way that an improved cleaning effect can be achieved without the risk that the object to be cleaned is damaged by the washing brush.
This object is achieved in a washing brush of the generic type according to the invention that the dispensing device has at least one rotor arm which is freely rotatably mounted about a rotation axis and carries a nozzle which rotates upon application of pressurized cleaning fluid together with the rotor arm about the axis of rotation and discharges the cleaning liquid through a support ring formed by the cleaning bristles on the object to be cleaned, wherein the washing brush is supported by means of the support ring on the object to be cleaned and the support ring is formed by a plurality of cleaning bristles offset in the radial direction and in the circumferential direction.
In the invention, the idea flows in that a very good cleaning effect can be achieved if the object to be cleaned can be acted upon directly by pressurized cleaning liquid, which is discharged from at least one nozzle rotating about a rotation axis, and the article additionally with Cleaning bristles is mechanically cleaned. The cleaning bristles not only have a cleaning function but also a support function. They form namely at the bottom of the housing a support ring for supporting the washing brush on the object to be cleaned. From the at least one rotating nozzle, the pressurized cleaning fluid can be directed through the support ring onto the article. The support ring thus forms on the one hand a splash protection, on the other hand it allows a mechanical cleaning and defines a support surface for supporting the washing brush. To damage to avoid the object, the support ring has a considerable width. For this purpose, the washing bristles are arranged not only in the circumferential direction but also in the radial direction offset from each other. The staggered arrangement gives the support ring a width which is greater than the width of a single row of cleaning bristles which are arranged one behind the other only in the circumferential direction.
The relatively wide support ring reduces the risk that the cleaning bristles bend at a complex shaped surface of the object to be cleaned and uneven application of force to the washing brush at a lateral area and thereby the housing comes directly into contact with the object to be cleaned and possibly scratched. The relatively wide support ring is also characterized by a considerable mechanical stability.
Preferably, the support ring comprises at least two rows of cleaning bristles. The support ring thus has at least one outer bristle ring and one inner bristle ring. The two bristle rings may extend along an edge of the housing. The cleaning liquid delivered by the at least one nozzle rotatable about the axis of rotation can be directed through the bristle rings onto the object to be cleaned.
In an advantageous embodiment, the cleaning bristles not only form a support ring but in addition also arranged on the underside of the housing central support member, with the help of the washing brush particularly reliable supported on the object to be cleaned and this can be mechanically cleaned, the support member surrounded by the support ring is and a bristle-free annulus for passing the cleaning liquid is disposed between the support member and the support ring. The central support part thus forms, like the support ring, a support element for supporting the washing brush on the object. Extending between the central support member and the support ring is a bristle-free annular space through which the cleaning liquid discharged from the at least one rotating nozzle can be directed under pressure onto the object.
The housing has, in a preferred embodiment of the invention, an upper part receiving the dispenser and a lower part having a plurality of apertures on which the cleaning bristles are held and which supports the dispenser. The dispenser is thus supported by the lower part of the housing and covered by the upper part of the housing.
Preferably, at least one projection is arranged on the upper side of the lower part, against which the dispensing device rests. The projection may be configured for example in the form of a pin or a rib.
Conveniently, the upper part comprises a lower edge circumferentially surrounding shock edge, which is made of a rubber-elastic material, in particular of a rubber or elastomeric material. By such a configuration, the risk of damage to the article by the housing of the washing brush is kept particularly low. The user presses the washing brush against the object with such a strong force that even the relatively wide support ring formed by the cleaning bristles can not absorb the force and, consequently, the cleaning bristles bend to the outside, so there is no risk of damage to the object, since then only the rubber-elastic shock edge of the housing touches the object. Since the shock-absorbing edge is formed elastically, the risk is extremely low that such a touch the object is damaged, for example, scratched.
Conveniently, at least the impact edge of the upper part of the housing is made of a thermoplastic elastomer, in particular of a styrene block copolymer. As a material for the impact edge, for example, a styrene-ethylene-butadiene-styrene can be used.
The upper part of the housing comprises in an advantageous embodiment of the invention, a hood which is made of a harder material than the impact edge. For example, the hood can be made of a polypropylene material. It can be provided that the bumper is formed on the free edge of the hood. In particular, it can be provided that the impact edge encompasses an edge region of the hood.
It is particularly favorable when the upper part of the housing is produced in a two-component injection molding process. In this case, in a first method step, the hood can be produced, and in a second method step can be molded onto the free edge of the hood, the impact edge.
In order to be able to achieve even angled areas of an object to be cleaned, it is advantageous if the housing of the washing brush is configured substantially triangular in plan view with convexly outwardly curved sides.
Conveniently, two of the three corner regions of the housing are rounded, whereas a third corner region forms a tip of the housing.

The
