Definitions
- the present invention relates to methods and apparatus for processing paving elements, in particular for the artificial aging of paving elements.
- Such a laying package of paving elements has, for example, a number of paving stones arranged in several parallel rows, wherein the individual rows each contain paving stones of equal width and all rows have the same overall length, so that a rectangular, mechanically detectable laying package is produced.
- Laying packages of this kind are for example in the WO 99/54552 A1 described.
- the method used in practice for the artificial aging of concrete paving stones has been to move the manufactured concrete paving stones through a slightly inclined and rotating drum. Within the drum while the corners and edges of the concrete paving stones are struck irregular by abutting the concrete paving stones and by pushing the concrete paving stones against the drum wall and also scratched their surfaces (so-called drumming of concrete paving stones).
- the DE 198 45 174 A1 proposes a method and an apparatus for artificial aging of concrete blocks, with which the processed concrete blocks can be provided in the form of a laying package.
- a group of concrete blocks on an inclined surface is positioned so that their upper corners and edges at least temporarily exposed or offset from each adjacent concrete blocks on this project beyond (scale-like arrangement).
- machining bodies made of a harder material are moved over the group of concrete blocks arranged in this way in order to remove the protruding edges and corners of the concrete blocks irregularly.
- the DE 101 62 370 A1 a device for the artificial aging of concrete blocks is described, with which the concrete blocks can be edited as a laying package and only their top, ie their visible surface scratched and only the corners and edges are cut off at its top.
- the device has a support plate with a grid-like structure with elevations and depressions whose characteristic dimensions are smaller than the dimensions of the concrete blocks on.
- the concrete blocks are placed side by side on the support plate so that they have a game to each other and / or against the edge of the support plate and its visible surface facing the support plate out. Then the concrete blocks are offset by a vibration of the device in a relative movement to each other. When shaking the concrete blocks, they collide against each other so that their corners and edges are knocked off.
- the concrete blocks move over the grid-like structure of the support plate, so that their visible surfaces are provided with scratches and abrasions.
- the DE 103 33 213 A1 an apparatus and method for the artificial aging of paving stones in which a plurality of paving stones are placed on a support plane having a corresponding number of aging forms with lateral boundaries for the paving stones.
- Artificial aging of the stones is achieved by means of a vibration device operatively connected to the support plane by impact between the edges and corners of the stones and the lateral boundaries of the aging forms.
- a Hubbegrenzungselement to limit the stroke of the paving stones are arranged above the stones.
- the paving stones are not processed in a laying package, and no pressure exerted on the stones by the stroke limiting member can be set, for example, to influence the degree of processing of the edges and corners of the stones.
- the present invention has for its object to provide a method and an apparatus for processing pavement elements, with which the Paving elements in the form of a laying package can be edited and only the corners and edges on their upper visible surface are cut off irregularly, but without scratching the visible surface itself.
- this object is achieved by a method for processing paving elements having the features of claim 1.
- Advantageous embodiments and further developments of the method according to the invention are the subject of the dependent claims 2 to 7.
- the method according to the invention for processing paving elements comprises the steps of placing a laying package with a number of paving elements and a corresponding joint pattern on a support such that the paving elements are juxtaposed with each other and with a border; arranging profile elements of a material which is harder than the material of the paving elements, in the joint pattern of the laying package on a side facing the visible surface of the paving elements; the life of a cover plate on the paving elements placed on the support, whereby a pressure exerted by the cover plate on the paving elements pressure is adjusted; and the displacement of the support and / or the profile elements in vibration.
- a complete installation package of paving elements is machined simultaneously while maintaining its formation, so that it is available after the processing operation as a laying package for machine laying without the desired formation of the paving elements would have to be restored. Furthermore, the paving elements of the laying package undergo processing exclusively in the region of their corners and edges on the side of their visible surface through the profile elements arranged in the joint pattern of the laying package in order to effect artificial aging. Neither the corners and edges on the underside of the paving elements are broken nor any side surfaces of the paving elements, in particular not their visible surfaces scratched.
- the cover plate is placed on the paving elements placed on the support to prevent the paving elements from jumping off during vibration and exerting some pressure on the paving elements.
- the profile elements are arranged on or on the substantially smooth support and the paving elements so on the support placed so that their viewing surfaces are facing the support.
- the paving elements are placed on the support so that their visible surfaces facing away from the support, and on the paving elements placed on the support, the substantially smooth cover plate is placed, on which the profile elements are arranged.
- the cover plate fulfills the task of preventing the plaster elements from jumping away during the vibration and exerting some pressure on the plaster elements.
- these two aforementioned embodiments can also be combined with each other. That is, the cover plate placed on the paving members placed on the platen is laid to prevent the paving elements from jumping off during vibration and to exert some pressure on the paving elements, and profile elements are provided on both the support and the cover plate. In this variant, it is possible to use in the thus treated paving elements either the top or bottom as a visible surface with the artificially aged appearance.
- the profile elements can either be freely movable so that they can move relative to the paving elements during vibration. Alternatively, they can be firmly connected to the support or the cover plate.
- the above-mentioned object is achieved by a device for processing paving elements having the features of claim 8.
- Advantageous embodiments and further developments of this device are the subject of the dependent claims 9 to 14

- the surface of the support must be substantially smooth and is preferably also substantially planar and arranged.
- FIG Fig. 1 and 2 can also be combined with each other.
- both the support 10 and the cover plate 16 are provided with profile elements 18, so that the underside and the top of the placed on the support 10 paving elements 12 of the installation package get an artificially aged appearance. It is then possible to use either the top or the bottom as a visible surface in these paving elements 12 thus treated.
- Fig. 3 shows a further embodiment of a device according to the invention in section. Same or analogous components are again provided with the same reference numerals as in the first and second embodiments.
- the present embodiment is based on a combination of the first and second embodiments such that with the in Fig. 3 device shown two layers of laying packages of paving elements 12 can be processed simultaneously.

- two devices according to the first embodiment or two devices according to the second embodiment may be combined in an analogous manner in order to be able to process two laying packages of paving elements at the same time, combination of devices according to the first and the second embodiment shown.
- each of the tops and bottoms of the paving elements 12 of the laying packages 10 are treated when both the support 10 and the cover plate 16 and both sides of the intermediate plate 22 are provided with profile elements 18.
- the paving elements 12 are placed with their visible surfaces to be worked up on the support 10.
- the support 10 is provided with a border 11, within which the paving elements 12 of a laying package with game can be arranged.
- the support 10 is elastically mounted and can be added via suitable vibration generators (eg vibrator) 20 in vibration.
- a plurality of laying packages of paving elements 12 can be placed in succession on the support 10 and transported in the manner of a conveyor belt. In this way, a higher throughput of laying packages to be processed can be achieved, whereby the production or processing costs can be reduced.
- a rolling body 22 On the patch 10 arranged on the patch elements 12 of the laying packages a rolling body 22 is set, which has a substantially smooth peripheral surface on which the plurality of profile elements 18 is mounted corresponding to the joint image 14 of the laying packages.
- the rolling body 22 is rotatably mounted in an elastically mounted frame 24 and rotatable about its longitudinal axis by means of a drive motor 26.
- On the frame 24 further vibration generators 28 are also provided, so that the frame 24 and thus the rolling body 22 can be added to the profile elements 18 in vibration.
- the pad 10 moves relative to the rolling body 22 (arrows 30).

- the profile elements 18 provided on the circumferential surface of the rolling body 22 engage in the joints 14 of the laying packages, respectively. Due to the vibration of the support 10 and / or the rolling body 22, the corners and edges of the paving elements 12 are then broken in the manner explained above on the side of their visible surface.
- a plurality of rolling elements 22 in the relative direction of movement 30 are arranged one behind the other and substantially parallel to each other.
- the profile elements 18 of the different rolling elements 22 may also be designed differently from one another in order to influence the breaking of the corners and edges of the paving elements 12 in a targeted manner and to impress them more and more, for example, in the course of the machining process.

Description
The present invention relates to methods and apparatus for processing paving elements, in particular for the artificial aging of paving elements.

It is also known to work paving stones mechanically so that their edges and corners are cut off irregularly. In this way, the paving stones should have the appearance of an old stone, i. they undergo an artificial aging process.
The method used in practice for the artificial aging of concrete paving stones has been to move the manufactured concrete paving stones through a slightly inclined and rotating drum. Within the drum while the corners and edges of the concrete paving stones are struck irregular by abutting the concrete paving stones and by pushing the concrete paving stones against the drum wall and also scratched their surfaces (so-called drumming of concrete paving stones).
This drumming of concrete paving stones is associated with a significant noise and dust development. In addition, the processed concrete paving stones accumulate as bulk material, leaving the drum disordered. If the concrete paving stones are then further processed mechanically as a laying package, they must be sorted by hand at great expense and placed in a suitable formation before they can be delivered.
In this conventional method, in contrast to the tumbling of the concrete blocks, only the top of the concrete blocks, i. their visible surface machined, whereas the bottom, i. their contact surface remains unprocessed. However, in this artificial aging process, the edges and corners of the concrete blocks, which are higher in each case and project beyond the neighboring concrete block, are cut off on the inclined base, resulting in an asymmetrical and unnatural-looking appearance of the artificially aged concrete blocks. For complete processing of concrete blocks they would have to be rotated at least once, in order to then go through the process again, but this significantly increases the processing time.
If the corners and edges of the concrete blocks are broken by a mutual abutment, this is done forcibly both at its top and at its bottom. Only the scratching of the surface by the grid-like structure of the support plate can be limited to its visible surface with this conventional method.

The present invention has for its object to provide a method and an apparatus for processing pavement elements, with which the Paving elements in the form of a laying package can be edited and only the corners and edges on their upper visible surface are cut off irregularly, but without scratching the visible surface itself.
According to a first aspect of the invention, this object is achieved by a method for processing paving elements having the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments and further developments of the method according to the invention are the subject of the dependent claims 2 to 7.
The method according to the invention for processing paving elements comprises the steps of placing a laying package with a number of paving elements and a corresponding joint pattern on a support such that the paving elements are juxtaposed with each other and with a border; arranging profile elements of a material which is harder than the material of the paving elements, in the joint pattern of the laying package on a side facing the visible surface of the paving elements; the life of a cover plate on the paving elements placed on the support, whereby a pressure exerted by the cover plate on the paving elements pressure is adjusted; and the displacement of the support and / or the profile elements in vibration.
According to the invention, a complete installation package of paving elements is machined simultaneously while maintaining its formation, so that it is available after the processing operation as a laying package for machine laying without the desired formation of the paving elements would have to be restored.
The cover plate is placed on the paving elements placed on the support to prevent the paving elements from jumping off during vibration and exerting some pressure on the paving elements.
In one embodiment, the profile elements are arranged on or on the substantially smooth support and the paving elements so on the support placed so that their viewing surfaces are facing the support.
In an alternative embodiment of the method, the paving elements are placed on the support so that their visible surfaces facing away from the support, and on the paving elements placed on the support, the substantially smooth cover plate is placed, on which the profile elements are arranged. Also in this case, the cover plate fulfills the task of preventing the plaster elements from jumping away during the vibration and exerting some pressure on the plaster elements.
Further, these two aforementioned embodiments can also be combined with each other.
In a still further embodiment of the invention, several layers of laying packages of paving elements with intermediate plates can be stacked therebetween and thus processed simultaneously. Furthermore, the profile elements can either be freely movable so that they can move relative to the paving elements during vibration. Alternatively, they can be firmly connected to the support or the cover plate.
Vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen und Weiterbildungen dieser Vorrichtung sind Gegenstand der abhängigen Ansprüche 9 bis 14According to a second aspect of the invention, the above-mentioned object is achieved by a device for processing paving elements having the features of claim 8. The device for processing paving elements according to the invention comprises a support for placing a laying package with a number of paving elements and a corresponding joint image; a border for the laying package of such a size that the paving elements of the laying package can be juxtaposed with each other and with the border; an arrangement of profile elements made of a material which is harder than the material of the paving elements, in the joint pattern of the laying package on a side facing the visible surface of the paving elements; a cover plate placed on top of the pad Paving elements can be placed, wherein a force exerted by the cover plate on the paving elements pressure is adjustable: and a vibration generator for moving the support and / or the profile elements in vibration.
The advantages of this device correspond to those mentioned above in connection with the method according to the invention.
The cover plate, which can be placed on the paving elements placed on the support, is provided to prevent the paving elements from jumping away and exerting some pressure on the paving elements.
In one embodiment of the invention, the support is substantially smooth and the profile elements are arranged on or on the support facing the laying package of the paving elements, so that the paving elements are placed for processing with their visible surfaces down on the support.
In an alternative embodiment, a substantially smooth cover plate is provided on which the profile elements are arranged and which can be placed on the patch elements placed on the support so that the profile elements facing the paving elements. In this case, the paving elements are placed for processing with their visible surfaces up on the support.
Of course, the two last-mentioned embodiments can also be combined with one another, as has already been explained in connection with the method according to the invention.
In a further embodiment of the invention, at least one intermediate plate is provided for stacking a plurality of laying packages of paving elements, so that a plurality of layers of laying packages can be processed simultaneously. In this way, a very high throughput of the device can be achieved. Next, the profile elements can either be arranged to be freely movable or fixedly connected to the support or the cover plate.
In a still further embodiment of the invention, a device for removing the broken edge material of the paving elements is also provided during the machining process.
With the method and apparatus of the invention, the paving elements are processed in the formation of a laying package. A laying package is a composite of a number of paving elements in a rectangular or square basic shape, which can be detected by machine so as to be laid mechanically and inexpensively.
Such a laying package can contain paving stones, slabs or a combination of paving stones and slabs as paving elements. For the definition of paving stones and slabs, reference is made, for example, to the standards DIN EN 1338 "Paving blocks of concrete" and DIN EN 1339 "Slabs of concrete", according to which a concrete slab is a prefabricated concrete product whose total length is divided by its thickness or thickness Height is greater than the number 4, and is understood by a paving stone a stone body, which is considerably smaller area compared to its height and in particular has a ratio of length to height less than or equal to the number 4.
The paving elements, i. the paving stones and / or slabs can be made in particular of concrete or clinker. However, the invention is equally applicable to natural stones.
The joint pattern of the laying package is determined by the joints between the individual paver elements. To produce a predetermined joint width, the paving elements are usually formed with spacer elements on their side surfaces or edges. The present invention is limited to no special joint pattern, no special joint size or shape and no special shape or arrangement of the spacer elements. In general, the joints of a laying package of substantially rectangular paving elements all extend in two mutually perpendicular directions, which may be referred to as axes of the joint pattern.

In particular, the device contains a

The
The apparatus further includes a
Although not shown, the apparatus preferably further includes means for removing the breakage of the paving elements during processing. This device contains, for example holes in the
For processing the
Then, when the

Dies gilt insbesondere auch für die Sichtflächen der Pflasterelemente 12.On the other hand, the corners and edges on the underside of the

As a further modification, the
