Abstract
Description
- This invention relates to covers used for connecting water input and output hoses, electric cables to the washing machines.
- That water input and output hoses, electric cables are connected via separate apparatus to washing machines is well known in the art. Also, a separate connection slot is formed on the machine in the corresponding position for each connection apparatus. The use of separate apparatus and corresponding slots for each input-output connection increases manufacturing, labour and assembly costs. In the published patent application
DE19756208 belonging to the prior art, the water hose and the electric cable is connected to the machine with the aid of a single apparatus. With this connection, there is no longer a need for separate connection elements for hoses and cables, and the assembly can be completed using a single apparatus. However, with this apparatus, the electrical cable and the water hose are both input into the machine side by side through a single hose. That those two elements, which can influence each other, such as a water hose and electric cables are positioned side by side can be particularly problematic. This connection setup is disadvantageous in that there may be instances wherein the cable and the hose get tangled or there is a water or electrical leakage. - Document
DE-A1-19548477 discloses a washing machine according to the preamble ofclaim 1. - The invention which is presented in greater detail below is used for inputting water input and output hoses and electric cables into a washing machine by way of a single element. The separate slots on the connection cover of the invention allow the hoses and the cables to be input separately into the machine by way of a single element. The connection cover can quickly be connected to the machine by way of tabbed fasteners. The circular holes located at the point where the cover is to be placed correspond to the circular holes on the cover. As the cover is placed in its position, cables and hoses passing through the said holes are inserted into the holes by way of a certain amount of force exerted on them. As a result, the connection of the cables and the hoses to the machine is both quick and firm. As is already known, the connection of the cables inside the machine is facilitated by connectors, whereas the hoses are connected via an adapter or different hydraulic connection elements. In the connection obtained with the invention, the connection cover is the resistance point against the force exerted on the cable and the hoses. Thus, the said connector and hydraulic connections are not affected by the forces exerted by the cable and the hose. In addition, thanks to the cover of the invention, the cables and hoses can easily be collected and placed behind the cover in the free space inside the machine. Thus, the cables and hoses do not hang out of the machine and do not get tangled up when the machine is transported. The tasks of opening the cover when the cable and the hose have to be reattached, taking out the cable and hose and fixing the cable and the hose when the cover is closed can all be carried out in a quick and practical fashion.
- The objective of the present invention is to provide the assembly to the system of the cables and hoses that are input into the machine using a single connection cover.
- Another objective of the invention is to provide a single connection cover that allows for quick and low cost assembly of the hose and the cable.
- Another objective of the invention is to provide quick and practical machine assembly of the cover by way of tabbed fasteners formed on the connection cover.
- Another objective of the invention is to connect the cables and hoses to the machine without the said cables and hoses being influenced by each other during their connection which is carried out using the connection cover.
- Yet another objective of the invention is to make it possible to place elements such as cables and hoses in the free space behind the cover inside the machine and to prevent obstruction of the cables and hoses during transportation of the machine.
- Examples of the embodiments related to the washing machine comprising the connection cover of the invention are illustrated in the attached drawings, wherein;
-
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the connection cover, cable, hose and valve as assembled on the machine. -
Figure 2 is a perspective view of the connection cover, cable and hose as assembled on the machine. -
Figure 3 is a perspective view of the insertion slot to which the cover is connected. -
Figure 4 is a frontal perspective view of the connection cover. -
Figure 5 is rear perspective view of the connection cover. -
Figure 6 is a perspective view of the assembly of the connection cover to the corresponding insertion slot. -
Figure 7 is a perspective view of an example of the tab formed on the connection cover. - Each of the parts in the drawings has been numbered as follows:
- Washing machine (A)
- Connection cover (1)
- Hose (2)
- Cable (3)
- Valve (4)
- Hose (5)
- Hose holding apparatus (5')
- Insertion slot (6)
- Cable slot (7)
- Hose slot (8)
- Cable slot (9)
- Hose slot (10)
- Connection slot (11)
- Connection holes (12, 12')
- Assembly surface (13)
- Assembly surface (14)
- Feeder (15, 15')
- Step (16)
- Tabbed fastener element (17)
- Rear surfaces (20)
- In
figure 1 and2 , an example perspective view is provided showing on the machine (A) of the present invention the connection cover (1), cable (3), hoses (2,5) and the valve (4) as assembled to the machine (A). When the said connection cover (1) is attached to the washing machine (A), this also allows the fixing to the machine of at least one cable (3) necessary for an electrical feed, at least one hose (2, 5) each for inputting and outputting water, and at least one valve (4).Figure 3 shows the insertion slot (6) for the connection cover (1) on the machine (A). - The connection cover (1), which is shown in frontal perspective view in
figure 4 and then in rear perspective view infigure 5 , is formed like a plate. On one side of the cover (1) is formed at least one tabbed fastener element (17) for attaching to the insertion slot (6). It is not possible for this part (17) to be disengaged from the slot (6) without knowingly stretching it (a perspective view of the tabbed fastener (17) formed on the connection cover (1) is provided infigure 7 ). - An assembly surface (13, 14) is provided on the other end of the cover (1) so that the cover can rest against the rear surfaces (20) (two (13 and 14) are provided in the drawings as examples) of the insertion slot (6). The assembly surfaces (13, 14) are positioned to extend toward the side of the cover (1). When the cover (1) is inserted into the slot (6), these surfaces (13, 14) rest against the rear surfaces (20) (shown in
figure 3 ) of the slot (6). In this assembled state of the cover (1), the steps (16) on the edges of the cover (1) rest against the front surface of the slot (6). - Support feeders (15, 15') can also be found on the front and rear surfaces of the cover (1). These feeders (15,15') are used to strengthen the plate-like cover (1).
- On the edges of the cover (1) or on the assembly surfaces (for example surface (13)) are provided at least one cable slot (9) and at least one hose slot (10) that are circular in shape (9) for receiving the cable and the hose. When the cover (1) is inserted into the slot (6), the other circular gaps around the slot (6), or to put it another way, the cable slot (7) and the hose slot (8) are aligned with the cable slot (9) and the hose slot (10) on the cover (1) (shown in
figure 6 ). - Assembly slots for connecting different connection elements may also be found on the cover (1). For instance,
figure 1 shows a valve (4) andfigure 2 shows a hose (5) connected to the cover (1). To carry out the hose (5) connection found therein, the hose holding apparatus (5') is inserted into the slot (11) on the cover (1) and the said hose is passed through the apparatus (5'). Alternatively, a valve (4) may also be directly connected to this slot (11). A connection hole (12, 12') is also present next to this slot (11) for fixing the apparatus (5') or valve (4) inserted into the slot. -
Figure 6 shows a perspective view of the assembly of the connection cover (1) to the corresponding insertion slot (6). As the cover (1) is inserted into the slot (6), the cable slot (9) thereon and the cable slot (7) on the edge of the slot (6) are aligned. When these cable slots (7, 9), which are of a circular shape, come together, the cable (3) is firmly fixed by being tightened inside the round space. Similarly, the hose slot (10) on the cover (1) and the hose slot (8) on the edge of the slot (6) are aligned. When these circular hose slots (8, 10) are brought together, the hose (3) is fixed firmly in place by being tightened inside the round space remaining between them.
