Extractor hoods are usually packed in boxes for transport to the installation site. In order to prevent damage to the hood, it must be kept safe in the box and also protected against damage from the outside. According to a first aspect, the object is achieved by a packaging element for cooker hoods, which consist of a fume hood and a chimney with at least two chimney parts, which has a cuboid shape. The width of the packaging elements is preferably such that it is slightly smaller than the depth of a chimney part. According to a further aspect, the invention relates to a package for an extractor hood, which consists of a fume hood and a fireplace with at least two chimney parts, wherein the package comprises at least one packaging element. The packaging is characterized in that it is at least partially formed by at least one chimney part of the extractor hood.

By using a chimney part as part of the packaging structure, it can give stability to the packaging. The chimney part can thus serve as a supporting part of the packaging. This has the advantage that additional reinforcements, such as large Styrofoam parts are not required. According to a preferred embodiment, the packaging comprises two lower packaging elements and two upper packaging elements, wherein between each one upper and one lower packaging element in each case a channel part is held. The packaging elements are preferably provided laterally in the packaging, thus forming the lateral corners and lateral upper and lower edges of the packaging. The chimney parts usually have an open channel shape. In the packaging according to the invention, these chimney parts are arranged so that the open sides of the two chimney parts face each other. Between the insides of the chimney parts so protected by the packaging space is defined laterally. By providing the chimney parts between the packaging elements and serving as columns, the vertical load on the package may be greater than in conventional packages where stability has been provided by a carton. It is thus possible, for example, to stack more packages or packaged extractor hoods on top of each other than was previously possible. Thus, with a height dimension of the individual packaging of 70 or 80 cm, a stack height of up to 18 m can be achieved without having to fear damage to the lower packaging. In experiments, it has been shown that the packaging of the invention has passed a compression test up to 900kg without major deformation.

According to a preferred embodiment, the edge of the rear side of the extractor hood of the hood is held in the lower packaging elements and in the upper packaging elements, the edge of the front of the extractor hood of the hood is held. The depth and width of the recesses is determined by the dimensions of the extractor hood 1 to be packed with the packaging element 10d. With the packaging according to the invention and the packaging element according to the invention a number of advantages can be achieved. In particular, a minimal volume of the packaged extractor hood is achieved, whereby a large potential savings in logistics can be achieved. A separate packaging of the chimney parts can be omitted in the packaging concept according to the invention and thus the number of material numbers can be further reduced.

Due to the universally usable packaging element, which in particular represents a polystyrene part, food of different widths of for example 60 to 120 cm can be packed with one and the same packaging element. Only the cardboard and reinforcing elements, in particular wooden strips, must be adapted. As a result, a bundle of pieces is achieved in the packaging. Due to the double-sided arrangement of the recesses, it is also possible to use the polystyrene part for all four corners of the extractor hood. In this case, the outer channel and the inner channel are placed separately on one side of the extractor in the designated wells.
