Abstract
Description
- The object of the present invention patent is to present a novel air-powered manual vibrating screed which, by means of a profile internally incorporating a series of pneumatic vibrators, interconnected to one another by means of flexible tubes through which the compressed air circulates, which compressed air enters through the connection coupling to an air compressor, allows smoothing the plaster and the mortar in walls and ceilings in a very effective manner by the action of the vibration of the material by means of said profile.
- This novel air-powered manual vibrating screed has a particular application in the field of construction in which, due to circumstances, it is necessary to have an air-powered manual vibrating screed, to improve the efficacy in the application of the plaster and mortar paste in plastering walls and ceilings.
- To date, there have been different types of screeds which are used for screeding plaster walls or surfaces, which usually travel on previously calibrated guides fixed to the surface to be smoothed, or which moves over the surface to be smoothed with the arms by means of the use of a simple screed.
- Currently, plaster and mortar paste is applied manually, projecting the material on walls and ceilings to be subsequently leveled and distributed as homogenously as possible by means of manual tool, such as a trowel or a manual screed based on several passes until the desired effect is achieved.
- In order for these elements to be suitably distributed, an amount of water must be added to fluidize them and to make their distribution easier.
- Given the scarcity of water in the environment, it is very necessary to try to reduce the use of this element when carrying out industrial processes such as the process of plaster coatings on walls and ceilings.
- In order to palliate or, where appropriate, eliminate the aforementioned problems, this novel air-powered manual vibrating screed is presented which basically consists of a profile internally incorporating a series of pneumatic vibrators interconnected to one another by means of flexible tubes through which the compressed air circulates, which compressed air enters through the connection coupling to an air compressor; arranged next to said connection coupling to an air compressor there is an on/off valve to regulate the pressure of the air circulating through the flexible tubes.
- Since the pressure of the air feeding the pneumatic vibrators can be adjusted, the vibration force of the profile can be regulated according to the needs which are required.
- It requires less physical effort by the person screeding a surface since the number of passes over said surface is reduced by means of the vibration, increasing the effectiveness of the person's effort and reducing the time used for doing so because since it can be leveled and distributed more quickly and homogeneously, the time necessary for the application is reduced, thereby reducing costs with regard to the manual labor to be used in the process and the consumption of water is reduced, which results in a second economic savings and in a measure that favors the environment.
- The main advantage provided by the present invention is the improvement of the plastering process with regard to the final finish achieved and the time of performance used.
- To complement the description being made and for the purpose of aiding to better understand the features of the invention, a figure is attached to the present specification as an integral part thereof in which the following is depicted with an illustrative and non-limiting character:
-
Figure 1 : Plan view of the air-powered manual vibrating screed, object of the present invention patent. - As can be observed in the attached figure, the air-powered manual vibrating screed object of the present invention patent consists of a profile (1) internally incorporating a series of pneumatic vibrators (2), interconnected to one another by means of the flexible tubes (3) through which the compressed air circulates, which compressed air enters through the connection coupling to an air compressor (4); arranged next to said connection coupling to an air compressor (4) there is an on/off valve (5) regulating the pressure of the air circulating through the flexible tubes (3).
- The operation is as follows: after projecting the plaster or mortar paste on a surface, the connection coupling to an air compressor (4) is coupled to any air compressor which will supply a compressed air flow, which will be regulated by means of the on/off valve (5), the compressed air will circulate through the flexible tubes (3) until reaching the pneumatic vibrators (2), which will cause a vibration in the entire profile (1), making the job of screeding easier when smoothing walls and ceilings.
- Having sufficiently described the nature of the present invention as well as a manner of carrying it out to practice, it is only necessary to add that said invention can undergo certain variations in the shape and the materials provided that said alterations do not substantially vary the features claimed below.
