Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Kraftstoff-Injektor (1), insbesondere einen Common-Rail-Injektor, zum Einspritzen von Kraftstoff in einen Brennraum einer Brennkraftmaschine, mit mindestens einem Gehäuseteil (11) und mit einem axial verstellbaren Einspritzventilelement (12), welches mittels eines Steuerventils (31) schaltbar ist, welches wiederum mit einem Aktuator (37) betätigbar ist, wobei bei geöffnetem Steuerventil (31) eine Kraftstoffmenge aus einem Hochdruckbereich in einen mit einem Injektorrücklaufanschluss (7) versehenen Niederdruckbereich (34) des Kraftstoff-Injektors (1) strömt. Erfindungsgemäß ist vorgesehen, dass im Gehäuseteil (11) mindestens eine dem Steuerventil (31) hydraulisch nachgeordnete Kühlbohrung (45, 48) vorgesehen ist, die derart angeordnet ist, dass durch diese zumindest ein Teilvolumenstrom der Kraftstoffmenge vor Erreichen des Injektorrücklaufanschlusses (7) strömen und dabei Wärmeenergie an das Gehäuseteil (11) abgeben kann.
