Definitions
- the invention relates to an operating device for an electrical appliance with touch switches, which are arranged under a cover. It also relates to a method for connecting an additional heater to a heater.
- the invention has for its object to provide an aforementioned operating device and an aforementioned method, which are eliminated with the problems of the prior art can and in particular a better use of sensor elements with less effort and safe operation is possible.
- At least two markings are provided or attached over each areal sensor element, namely different markings or markings for different conditioning functions or for at least two sensor element functions.
- At least one marking is arranged outside the center of gravity of the sensor element surface. If one marking is arranged approximately above the center of gravity of the sensor element and the other outside thereof, the application of a finger to the markings produces signals of different strength or signal changes on the sensor element, which can be detected for evaluation the said sensor element function is.
- the signal or signal change is relatively large.
- the signal or the signal change is significantly smaller.
- the electric field formed over the sensor element depends on the surface or is influenced by it. This electric field changes at least in the case of capacitive sensor elements by approaching or placing a finger.
- two different operating functions or sensor element functions can be taken over, so to speak, with constant evaluation electronics and evaluation methods with only a single sensor element.
- it may even be more. This corresponds approximately to the replica of a plurality of virtual sensor elements, which is achieved by the respective spatial arrangement of sensor element and marking each other.
- a sensor element it is possible for a sensor element to have a substantially rectangular or circular shape, that is to say a surface which is as compact as possible, which is, so to speak, the opposite of elongated or branched.
- a marking is arranged approximately in the middle region.
- the other marking is rather arranged relatively close to the edge region of the sensor element surface. For example, it is positioned so close to the edge that the average touch surface resulting from contact with a finger extends beyond the edge of the sensor element when the contact is centered on the label. This average contact area may be about 8mm to 12mm.
- the absolute proportions of the sensor element should be such that with these aforementioned average contact surfaces by an applied finger, the markings are positioned, in particular that outside the center of gravity of the sensor element surface, that the contact surface protrudes beyond the edge of the sensor element surface.
- the sensor element has an elongated shape.
- a marking is mounted approximately above or above the sensor element in such a way that a contact surface resulting from contact with a finger lies fully within the sensor surface.
- Another label may be appropriate for a similar one Touching surface protrudes at least partially beyond the edge of the sensor element.
- the sensor element surface may have differently sized partial surface areas. Different markings are arranged over differently sized sub-area areas, although this may well be either concentric or above the center. Due to the different sized sub-area areas different sized signals or signal changes are generated on the entire sensor element, which can be registered by a control or signal evaluation as each corresponding actuation.
- the invention is very good if three or even only two different functions are provided or three or two different positions of labels are provided to a sensor element surface.
- the sensor element may have a larger partial area, which is followed by at least one smaller partial area.
- An identification can then be arranged above the centroid of each partial surface.
- a taper or waisted shape can be provided between individual sub-areas of a sensor element. This is considerably narrower than the width of the small sub-areas, so that they can not predominantly contribute to the active area of the sensor element or the respective subarea.
- This connection region then essentially represents the electrical connection of the individual partial surfaces or causes the sensor element to be electrically connected in total.
- a smaller partial area may be provided for the sensor element, to which two larger partial areas are attached. shut down. These may be provided in particular at opposite ends of the smaller partial area. Again, the smaller part of the area can be considered as a kind of elongated waist or narrow connection area between the two larger faces. Alternatively, the smaller partial surface in turn may be connected by even narrower connections with the larger partial surfaces.
- the operating device or operating functions implemented thereby that the operating functions provided by the different markings on one and the same sensor element are complementary to one another.
- this is for example a kind of plus function for increasing a power or increasing a predetermined value and a minus function for reducing this power or this value.
- the advantage of realizing just such complementary functions is that if you set too much or change in one direction only a small amount of finger movement is necessary to correct it.
- sensor elements are then not made much larger than necessary, so that the different markings are not too far apart or approximately with a distance which is two to a maximum of five times the diameter with an aforementioned contact surface.
- For connecting the sensor element or for electrical contacting it is sufficient to provide a single connection. This can be provided at any point depending on the design of the sensor element. It is advantageous, in particular in the case of sensor elements which are not optimally electrically conductive, from a region between two partial surfaces.
- the individual markings can still be closer together than in the usual, since no signal to noise ratio between different sensor elements is necessary. It is also possible to provide lighting means for indicating the operating state of the operating device or of the electrical appliance in the vicinity of the sensor element.
- an additional heating device to a heating device in an electrical appliance, which may be, for example, an oven or a hob and have a previously described operating device, in a new way.
- the heater is started after selection or selection via a first actuation of a minus button for power reduction, so an operator to understand that no particularly high performance is desired. Thus, experience has shown that no additional heating device is required.
- the auxiliary heater is deactivated. If, on the other hand, the heater is started via a first confirmation of a plus key to increase the power, obviously higher powers are desired. Accordingly, the auxiliary heater, which usually heats an even larger area than the already existing base heater, activated.
- Fig. 5 shows a section through an operating device
- Fig. 6 is a plan view of an operating device.
- FIGS. 1 to 4 show different embodiments of sensor elements 20.
- These sensor elements 20 are, as shown in FIG. 5, mounted from below on a cover 13.
- the cover 13 may also, for example, a hob plate of glass ceramic or the like. be with a hob.
- the sensor elements 20 are attached as an area from below to the cover 13 or provided thereon, which can be done in a very diverse manner. Are possible pressed surfaces such as flat, electrically conductive plates or plates, films or the like .. Similarly, spatially extended solid body of be applied to the bottom of the cover 13 below. Finally, there are still insoluble attachments such as printing or the like. possible.
- the sensor elements 20 and on the surface of the cover 13 are printed 15 and 16 provided in accordance with the aforementioned markings. These prints represent various symbols, as will be explained in more detail below.
- a finger 12 can be placed above the sensor element 20 on the cover 13 with a resulting contact area shown in dashed lines. The capacitive sensor element 20 registers this.
- the slightly protruding imprints 15 and 16 it is also possible to provide markings, recesses or even projections embedded flush with the surface.
- E- benso can be provided below the light-emitting covers arranged light indicators. For the imprints 15 and 16, it is only important that they represent an operating symbol and specify the location of an operation.
- the shape roughly corresponds to an eight.
- a large partial surface 22a is connected to a constriction or waist 24a a medium-sized partial surface 26a. It can be clearly seen that the large partial surface 22a is approximately three times as large as the medium-sized partial surface 26a.
- a printing 15a in the manner of a plus symbol.
- a printing 16a in the manner of a minus symbol.
- a dashed average contact area of 8 mm to 12 mm is at the upper part surface 22a fully within the sensor element surface.
- the average contact surface shown in dashed lines projects laterally beyond it, thus producing a smaller signal at the sensor element 20a. This would also apply to the part surface 24a.
- both the small sub-area 24a and the medium-sized subarea 26a it is important for the size of both the small sub-area 24a and the medium-sized subarea 26a that they should be smaller than the typical contact area of a finger 12 on the cover 13. Thus, it can be ensured that the areal coverage of the sensor element is not the maximum Contact surface of the finger 12 is above which no larger coverage can be detected, but is limited by the size of the partial area.
- FIG. 2 shows a further embodiment of a sensor element 20b.
- Two large partial surfaces 22b are connected to one another via a small partial surface 24b in the manner of a constriction.
- Above the large sub-areas 22b are printed 15b on the nature of plus symbols.
- Above the small partial surface 24b is a print 16b as a minus symbol.
- a sensor element 20b it is possible within the scope of a novel operating philosophy to actuate a plus symbol with the same operating function at two different locations.
- Fig. 3 another variant of a sensor element 20c is shown, which differs slightly from the above. There is only a single large area 22c before. Centrally above this surface 22c is a print 15c as a plus symbol and below it near the edge region a print 16c as a minus symbol.
- a finger 12 is placed above the imprint 15c, there is a surface overlap with the full dashed contact surface of the finger 12, which corresponds to a large signal. If the finger 12 is placed on the lower printing 16c, it covers the sensor element 20c only with a part of its contact surface. This results in a small signal or a signal which is smaller in all cases than when placed on the upper printing 15c.
- FIG. 4 shows a sensor element 20d, the shape of which corresponds approximately to an upright narrow triangle with a broad and large upper partial surface 22d and a narrow and small lower partial surface 24d, which adjoins it.
- a printing 15d in the manner of a plus symbol.
- a printing 16d in the manner of a minus symbol.
- a large signal on the sensor element 20 corresponding to the placement of a finger 12 on a large partial area or a large contact area is evaluated accordingly.
- a medium signal is evaluated correspondingly to the placement of a finger 12 on a medium subarea.
- a small signal is evaluated correspondingly to the placement of a finger 12 on a small subarea 24.
- the intended or arising on landing contact surfaces are shown in dashed lines.
- the sensor element 20 can only recognize different signal strengths, ie not directly a location-dependent application of a finger. It is assumed for the evaluation that an applied finger 12 represents a more or less always the same contact surface and thus a more or less always the same capacitive coupling to the sensor element 20. If the finger 12 are placed on the edge of a large partial surfaces 22, that he covered this only with an area corresponding to a small or a medium-sized partial area, so would be applied to the sensor element 20, a corresponding small or medium signal. This would then evaluate an evaluation for the sensor element 20 as a placement on a small or medium-sized partial area, which results in an incorrect evaluation.
- an operating device 11 is shown. Under a cover 13, in addition to an on-switch 30, which may also be formed as a sensor element, four sensor elements 20 as shown in FIG. 1 are provided. The imprints 15 and 16 are provided on the upper side of the cover 13. The dashed lines of the sensor elements 20 in FIG. 6 make it clear that they are not visible to an operator since they lie below the cover 13. In the operating device 11 in Fig. 6, the dashed line of the sensor element is omitted below, so that it can be better illustrated how the operating device 11 with respect to the sensor elements 20 and the imprints 15 and 16 represents an operator.
- the operation of, for example, a cooktop with the operating device 11 otherwise corresponds to the usual operating method.
- the performance is increased or selected another function by operating with placing the finger 12 on one of the prints 15 or 16 at a corresponding hotplate.
