Description

The invention relates to a sheet containing a securing means and an article incorporating such a sheet.

Substances with an interferential effect, especially iridescent substances, are widely used as security elements in the security document industry. Indeed, the substances with interference effect have the ability to change hue depending on the angle of observation and / or illumination. In particular, light-colored iridescent substances are used, in particular not very visible from certain angles. These are particularly difficult to copy by possible counterfeiters, their optically variable effect can not be reproduced by photocopy or scanner.

Nevertheless, such interferential substances, in particular those of pale color, have a disadvantage in that they do not always attract the attention of the users who handle them. Therefore, the man in the street, not having his attention attracted by this element of security may forget to check his presence. The attention of the user is all the less attracted that the view of the latter is weak. In addition, the proportion of the elderly population, so with a weaker view, increasing, it therefore becomes more and more necessary to provide security elements easily identifiable by sighted people but with vision defects.

On the other hand, in view of the ever-increasing rise of counterfeiting and the means available to counterfeiters, there is a constant need to improve the security document security devices.

We know, by the request EP 0 490 825 , a security paper that has on its surface several iridescent zones, at least one of which is almost invisible in direct observation and colored at an angle of oblique observation. In order to obtain a better perception of the color change, it is proposed that at least two regions of the iridescent coating, preferably adjacent, are of different colors, the contrast between the colors to allow better detection.

However, this arrangement has a disadvantage because the different colors chosen for the iridescent coating are not very noticeable in direct observation of so that the uninformed user, not perceiving the presence of the iridescent coating in direct observation (in front of him), can forget to check the presence of the latter in oblique observation to authenticate the paper.

We still know WO 03/097376 which describes devices for obtaining optical interference.

On connaît encore JP 2005 085094 et WO 2004/030928 qui décrivent des dispositifs embossésWe still know JP 2005 085094 and WO 2004/030928 that describe embossed devices

A rough part of the invention is thus to produce a hardwood sheet comprising an interferential security element whose security properties are further enhanced.

Another object of the invention is to produce an article or a security document with an interferential security element, in particular a pale iridescent coating, which attracts the attention of the man who wants to authenticate said document .

These various objects are achieved by providing a sheet comprising a support and a security means comprising at least one zone having an interference effect, characterized in that said security means further comprises at least one tactile recognition element situated in the same region that said zone having an interference effect.

Thus, the invention has the advantage that the tactile recognition element makes it possible to draw the attention of the user of the sheet to the region carrying said tactile recognition element, and thus to bring the user to check the presence of the interferential effect zones.

Another advantage of the invention is to combine in a single region the protection provided by the presence of an interference effect element with that provided by a tactile recognition element and thus to reinforce the level of securing of the sheet.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the part of the sheet containing the tactile recognition element and the part of the sheet containing the interference effect zone overlap completely.

In another embodiment, the portion of the sheet containing the tactile recognition element and the portion of the sheet containing the interference effect zone overlap partially.

According to another embodiment of the invention, the tactile recognition element surrounds and delimits the interference effect zone.

According to another embodiment of the invention, the interference effect zone surrounds and delimits the tactile recognition element.

According to one embodiment of the invention, said tactile recognition element is on the surface of said interference effect zone and / or at least partially incorporated in the mass of said interference effect zone and / or is on the surface of said interference zone. support and / or at least partially incorporated in the mass of said support of the sheet. For example, the tactile recognition element is incorporated in the sheet support in the region where the interference effect area is located.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the security means and / or the interferential effect zone is a continuous band, for example, that the iridescent bands usually deposited on the surface of the banknotes, such as euros, which have a determined width and generally extend from one edge to the other of the bill.

More particularly, the band has a width of between 0.5 and 4 cm, preferably between 0.5 and 2.5 cm.

According to another embodiment of the invention, the securing means and / or the interference effect zone form at least one pattern, in particular an alphanumeric character and / or a drawing and / or a symbol.

According to another embodiment of the invention, the securing means and / or the interferential effect zone, in particular in the form of an iridescent band, has material gaps giving the interference and / or tactile effect, these gaps thus appearing in negative on the support. Said gaps may form patterns, in particular an alphanumeric character and / or a drawing and / or a symbol.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the securing means represents at least one pattern having a fine structure. Such a configuration, by alternating a small distance between zones having a tactile effect and zones devoid of tactile effect, has the advantage of reinforcing the perception of the tactile effect of the security means. For example, they may be spaced lines, continuous or not, or a spiral with several turns. Thus, according to a particular example of the invention, the security means has the form of a square spiral inscribed in a square of 8 mm, the width of a turn being less than 0.4 mm and two contiguous turns being spaced about 0.9 mm.

Preferably, in order to further enhance the perception of the tactile effect, the sheet comprises several patterns having a fine structure (chiseled) and which follow each other.

According to a particular case, the patterns all have the same interference effect and therefore the same color variation according to the angle of observation and / or illumination.

In another particular case, the patterns have different interferential effects. Thus, for example the security means may consist of several alphanumeric characters and symbols with different color variations so as to reproduce a logo.

According to another embodiment, the patterns may constitute a code, in particular readable by a machine.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the sheet has several patterns located in a manner marked with respect to said sheet.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the zone having an interference effect is pale, that is to say at least partially invisible at certain angles, especially in direct observation. By direct observation, it is understood that the user holds the sheet substantially perpendicular to the direction of his gaze, that is to say facing him.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the sheet comprises a plurality of interferential zones of pale colors.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the zone having an interference effect comprises iridescent pigments as interferential elements.

Preferably, said iridescent pigments are chosen from mother-of-pearl extracts, plastic pigments, micas-based pigments, and optionally lead salts, and mixtures thereof.

Suitable plastic pigments are, for example, those described in the application for WO 91/12146 and obtained by cutting a stack of plastic films such as two adjacent films that have different refractive indices.

In particular, said iridescent pigments are micas coated with at least one metal oxide, preferably a mica coated with titanium dioxide. For example, we can use a mica coated with TiO 2 with optionally another metal oxide, such as those sold by Merck AG under the name "Iriodin ®".

In particular, an iridescent ink or coating composition comprising a binder, in particular a transparent binder selected for its ease of handling and the durability it provides to the binder-particle assembly once deposited, for example by screen printing or gravure printing.

According to another embodiment of the invention, the zone having an interference effect comprises, as interference elements, pigments or a film comprising one or more dielectric layers arranged between one or more reflecting metal layers.

According to another embodiment of the invention, the zone having an interference effect comprises, as interference element, a multilayer polymer film, formed by alternating reflecting layers, more or less intensely.

According to another embodiment of the invention, the zone having an interferential effect comprises, as interference elements, liquid crystals or pigments based on liquid crystals.

The latter substances having interferential effects are described, for example, in the patent application WO 01/60924 .

According to one embodiment of the invention, the tactile recognition element creates a relief on the surface of the support.

According to a particular embodiment of the invention, the tactile recognition element comprises particles partially incorporated in said interference effect zone and / or in the support of the sheet. In this way, there is obtained a security means having an interference effect on the surface of which particles "protrude", that is to say form a relief on the surface of the securing means, thus giving a tactile effect to said securing means.

De préférence, lesdites particules sont pleines.Preferably, said particles are solid.

According to another embodiment, said particles are hollow.

In particular, said particles have a spherical, pyramidal, ovoid, polyhedral or similar shape.

According to a particular embodiment, the size of the particles is between 5 and 100 μm, preferably between 10 and 60 μm.

According to a preferred embodiment, said particles are made of plastic, preferably polyester, polyethylene, polyamide, polypropylene or a mixture thereof.

According to another embodiment, said particles are made of metal, silica, glass or wax.

In general, those skilled in the art will choose a material having sufficient hardness and / or elasticity so that the particles are perceptible after the treatments that will be subjected to the sheet comprising the securing means according to the invention, including printing in intaglio where a high pressure, generally greater than 2 × 10 7 Pa (200 bar) is applied to the sheet. For example, particles well resistant to intaglio printing are polyurethane particles with a diameter of between 27 and 35 microns, marketed by Daikin Chemical Europe, under the name "Daiplacoat ® RHC 230".

In addition, the skilled person can choose the material depending on the desired tactile effect, such as a smooth or rough feel.

According to a preferred example, a "rough" feel, that is to say which the user perceives the reliefs in a particularly pronounced manner, can be obtained by incorporating into the interferential zone glass beads, such as those, of a diameter of 20 .mu.m, marketed by Sovitec under the name Microperl® 050-20-215.

According to another example, a "soft" feel will be obtained by incorporating on the surface of the zone with interference effect expansible thermoplastic microspheres, such as those sold by the company Expancel under the name Expancel 820® and of a size between and 25 μm in the unexpanded state.

According to another example, a "granular and soft" feel can be obtained by incorporating onto the surface of the interference zone medium polyurethane microbeads of about 7 μm, such as those sold under the name Daiplacoat® RHU 5070. by Dainishiseika.

According to another embodiment, the tactile recognition element is a knitted structure placed in the mass of the support, in particular a structure such that described in the application WO 2006016088 . For example, the tactile recognition element is a knitted structure composed of five metal and / or plastic wires, so as to form an English-coast type knit.

According to another embodiment of the invention, the tactile recognition element comprises at least one interference element having several regions of different thicknesses so as to create a difference in tactile perception from one region to another. In particular, when the interferential effect zone comprises, as interference elements, iridescent pigments, the variation in thickness of said interference effect zone also makes it possible to create a variation of the interferential effect, in particular the intensity of its coloration. .

According to one embodiment of the invention, the tactile recognition element may be arranged to form a pattern. In particular, the tactile recognition element may be arranged to form at least one alphanumeric pattern, symbol or sign in Braille. For example, the tactile recognition element may be a structure composed of knitted yarns so as to obtain ribs in the form of letters.

According to a particular case of the invention, the patterns of the tactile recognition element can be arranged to form a code, for example readable by a machine.

According to another embodiment of the invention, the tactile recognition element is a coating comprising a polymer used in the form of an aqueous dispersion, and has a glass transition temperature preferably of less than 5 ° C., such as a polyurethane or a copolymer based on (styrene-butadiene) giving a "rubbery" feel to the securing means.

According to one embodiment of the invention, said tactile recognition element formed of a coating having a rubbery effect has the shape of an elongate strip whose width is between 0.4 and 4 cm, preferably between 0.5 and 2,5cm.

Preferably, said coating having a rubbery effect and said zone having an interference effect overlap exactly.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the security means comprises at least two different tactile recognition elements. Such an embodiment is particularly advantageous in that it allows, by the contrast between the different touches, to further enhance the ease of perception of said securing means. For example, the security means may comprise an interference band comprising iridescent pigments as well as two adjacent tactile recognition elements superimposed on said interference band, the interference band having alternately a soft feel and a rough feel. .

In general, when the tactile recognition element is placed on the interference effect zone, the effect of the latter must not be hidden by the tactile recognition element.

According to one embodiment, the securing means of the sheet according to the invention comprises at least one additional security element, which further enhances the security level of the sheet. In particular, said additional security element is situated exactly in the same zone as said interference effect zone and said tactile recognition element.

According to one embodiment, said additional security element may partially or completely cover the interference effect zone and / or the tactile recognition element without the additional security element hiding the interference effect of the security means.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the additional security element may be thermochromic, piezochromic, luminescent, in particular fluorescent or magnetic, for example in the form of an ink or a coating of pigments. Those skilled in the art will choose the additional security means adapted to the nature of the interference zone and the tactile recognition element, so that said additional security means does not interfere with the interference effect or the tactile effect of the security means.

According to one particular embodiment of the invention, the tactile recognition element comprises particles as described above, and said particles convey security elements in their mass and / or on their surface such as luminescent pigments or plotters.

In another example, said particles are hollow and comprise at their center at least one security element such as a thermochromic element, photochromic or fluorescent.

According to a preferred embodiment, the additional security element is preferably an invisible ink in white light and visible only under UV, such as a fluorescent ink deposited on the interference effect zone.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the sheet comprises at least one layer of fibrous material, in particular based on cellulosic fibers.

According to another embodiment, the support of the sheet comprises at least one layer of plastic material.

According to another embodiment of the invention, the sheet comprises at least one layer of fibrous material and at least one plastic layer, optionally at least partially superimposed. For example, the sheet may be of fibrous material, provided with an opening, so as to form a through window, said opening being covered by a layer of plastic material.
