Description

The invention relates to a boot for cross-country skiing.

Such shoes can be used in areas such as cross-country skiing.

A shoe may comprise a high stem, that is to say which has a low portion and a high portion. Of course the lower portion covers the foot, and the upper portion surrounds the ankle of a user. Some shoes are additionally provided with a collar that extends in part at least at the level of the upper portion. Generally the collar covers the upper portion, and is connected to the rest of the stem by a transverse joint.

For example in the field of cross-country skiing, the collar is used to provide transverse flexural strength. The collar is opposed to a lateral inclination of the leg, which avoids certain injuries of the ankle.

Thus during a traditional driving, that is to say in alternative steps, the collar follows the movements of flexion or extension of the foot relative to the lower leg. In fact the collar flips freely according to its articulation, to approach or move away from the heel. This allows the user to push longitudinally and alternately with the legs.

It is also possible to consider skating in a step, called skating, in which each leg alternately pushes on the side. In this case the shoe generally comprises an elastic means which opposes an inclination of the collar towards the heel. This is to say that when the foot is extended, relative to the lower leg, the elastic means is constrained. In response the latter solicits the collar in a sense of distance from the heel, that is to say in a direction of flexion of the foot to the lower leg. The consequence is to facilitate a lifting movement of the ski spatula. As a result, it takes less effort to bring the ski forward. In other words, the energy accumulated by the elastic means, in a thrust phase with the leg, is restored in a return phase of the ski forward.

It therefore appears that a given shoe is not suitable for all modes of driving. Either the shoe is devoid of elastic means, and in this case it is well suited to driving in no alternative, or it is provided with an elastic means, and then it is more suitable for driving in skater steps.

Moreover, in the latter case, we note that the return assistance of the ski is not always adapted to the needs of the user. The latter has indeed its own characteristics, such as size, weight, level of practice, or other. The intensity of the stress exerted by the elastic means is not always perfectly adapted to the user.

Le document EP0596281 décrit une chaussure de ski de fond selon le préambule de la revendication 1.In general it appears that a given shoe is not versatile, in the sense that it does not generate an optimization of the movements in each driving style. In other words, every shoe is specialized. As a result it is difficult to switch from one driving style to another with the same shoe, that is to say, from a non-alternating driving to a skater riding or vice versa. If he really wants to do it, the user has to use different shoes. The document EP0596281 discloses a cross-country ski boot according to the preamble of claim 1.

In relation to this the invention is particularly intended to make a shoe more versatile, that is to say, not or little specialized. This means that the invention wants to allow different practices, especially in driving styles, with the same shoe.

The invention also seeks to better adapt the behavior of a shoe to a given user, for a given driving style.

To do this, the invention provides a shoe comprising a sole and a upper, the shoe extending in length from a heel to a front end, in width between a lateral portion and a medial portion, and in height from the sole to an upper end, the stem comprising a lower portion, an upper portion, and a collar that extends at least partially at the level of the upper portion, the collar being connected to the rest of the stem by a transverse joint, the shoe comprising an elastic means which opposes an inclination of the collar towards the heel.

The shoe according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises means for releasably securing the elastic means to the rest of the rod.

In fact, the elastic means is secured to the rest of the rod in a reversible manner. As a result the user can wear the same shoe, which is provided or not with an elastic means. This is to say that it is possible to change the behavior of the shoe.

Indeed, in the absence of elastic means the shoe will facilitate driving in alternate. As a corollary the presence on the stem of the elastic means favors the driving in skater's step. For this last style, it is still possible to provide elastic means with different properties. For example, different means can exert restoring forces of different intensities. Thus it is possible to select the most suitable means for the characteristics of the user.

It therefore appears that the invention makes the shoe more versatile, in the sense that it is not or that it is not very specialized.

The same shoe can be adapted to several driving styles. In addition for a given style, namely a conduct in skater steps, the shoe can be adapted to the needs of the user. This offers a better comfort of use, and reduces the budget necessary for several practices.

Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will be better understood from the following description, with reference to the accompanying drawing illustrating, according to a non-limiting embodiment, how the invention can be realized, and wherein :
  • The figure 1 is a side view of a shoe according to the described embodiment of the invention, in a case where it is provided with an elastic means,
  • the figure 2 is a rear perspective view of a shoe collar,
  • the figure 3 is a rear perspective view of the elastic means of the shoe,
  • the figure 4 is a partial section along IV-IV of the figure 1 ,
  • the figure 5 is similar to the figure 1 in a case where the shoe is devoid of the elastic means,
  • the figure 6 is similar to the figure 1 in a case where the collar is inclined towards the heel.

The embodiment that will be described after more specifically relates to shoes for the practice of cross-country skiing, or telemark.

As shown in figure 1 a cross-country ski boot 1 is provided to accommodate the user's foot.

In known manner, the shoe 1 comprises a tread 2 and a shank 3. the shoe 1 extends in length from a rear end or heel 4 to a front end or tip 5, and in width between a side portion 6 and a medial part 7.

The rod 3 comprises a lower portion 10, provided to surround the foot, and a high portion 11, provided to surround the ankle.

Selon la forme de réalisation décrite, la chaussure 1 s'étend en hauteur depuis la semelle 2 jusqu'à une extrémité supérieure 12, c'est-à-dire jusqu'à l'extrémité libre de la portion 11 ou de la tige 3.According to the embodiment described, the boot 1 extends in height from the sole 2 to an upper end 12, that is to say up to the free end of the portion 11 or the rod 3 .

The shoe 1 is structured to allow a good flexion of the leg or a smooth running of the foot, as well as the transmission of sensory information or driving impulses. This is why the rod 3 is relatively flexible. The sole can be relatively rigid or more flexible.

The shoe 1 further comprises a collar 13 which extends in part at least at the level of the upper portion, as is understood using the figures 1 and 2 . The collar 13 comprises for example a lateral branch 14, a medial branch 15, and a bridge 16 which connects the branches 14, 15 to one another. The bridge 16 is located at the height of the heel 4, that is to say towards the rear of the rod 3 or the upper portion 11. However it could have been placed in front of the upper portion. The bridge 16 comprises, in a nonlimiting manner, a lower arch 17 and an upper arch 18, which brings both high mechanical rigidity and lightness to the collar 13. The lateral branch 14, the medial branch 15 and the bridge 16 form a single piece. This includes for example a plastic material or any equivalent material.

The collar 13 further comprises a strap 19 which extends the bridge 16 to surround the upper portion 11 and the lower leg of the user. Of course the strap 19 can be tightened, loosened or opened by any means known to those skilled in the art.

Au final le collier pivote selon l'axe 23.The collar 13 is connected to the rest of the rod by a transverse articulation axis 23. This means that the hinge pin 23 is oriented in a transverse direction of the shoe. As a result, the collar 13 can pivot towards the heel 4 or towards the front end 5. The articulation is made by any known technique, as can be seen in part on the figure 4 . The articulation comprises, on the side of the lateral part 6, a pivot 24. This is a part of revolution which comprises a body 25 and a head 26. At the opposite of the head 26, the body 25 is structured to to be secured to the side portion 6 of the rod 3. Here the body 25 has a free end 27 split and shouldered. Just press the head 26 to secure the pivot 24 to the rod 3, because the side portion 6 has a hole 28 provided for this purpose. In addition, the lateral branch 14 of the collar 13 has an orifice 29 intended to be traversed by the body 25 of the pivot 24. This is why the lateral branch 14 pivots along the transverse axis 23. A similar arrangement is provided on the medial side, for the branch 15. Finally the collar pivots along the axis 23.

Cependant leur alignement facilite la rotation du collier 13.In summary, although this is not fully represented in the drawing, it can be said that the transverse articulation axis 23 comprises a lateral pivot 24 and a medial pivot, one being coaxial with the other, and that this same articulation has an orifice 29 formed in the lateral branch 14 and a non-referenced orifice formed in the medial branch 15. Of course the lateral and medial pivots may not be coaxial. However, their alignment facilitates the rotation of the collar 13.

The joint is located towards the ankle, that is to say towards the boundary between the low and high portions 11, so that the collar 13 accompanies the movement of flexion or extension of the foot relative to the bottom of the leg. As a result, the collar 13 keeps the lower leg transversely relative to the foot, especially when the strap 19 is tightened. Of course the one-piece piece of the collar 13 is more rigid than the rest of the rod, in this case more rigid than the lateral part 6 and the medial part 7.

La chaussure 1 comprend encore un moyen élastique 30, lequel s'oppose à une inclinaison du collier 13 vers le talon 4.The shoe 1 further comprises an elastic means 30, which opposes an inclination of the collar 13 towards the heel 4.

Without limitation, a structure of the elastic means is proposed according to the figures 1 and 3 . In this case the elastic means 30 comprises a lower arch 31 and an upper arch 32 connected to each other at a vertex 33. The latter has a lateral subdivision 34 and a medial subdivision 35. Each arch 31, 32 is provided to bypass the heel 4 above the sole 2. The arches 31, 32 are extended at each other at the subdivisions 34, 35, so that the elastic means forms a single piece. This includes for example a plastic material. In the state of rest, the elastic means 30 has the appearance of an open mouth.

According to the invention, the boot 1 comprises means for releasably securing the elastic means 30 to the rest of the rod. This allows to associate the elastic means 30 to the rest of the rod reversibly. Thus the user can choose whether or not to use the elastic means 30 and, when using it, can select it from a range of elastic means different stiffnesses. The user can therefore determine some of the characteristics of the shoe. This allows in particular to adapt the shoe to a driving style.

As can be understood by using all of the Figures 1 to 6 , the removable fastening means use a joint. This, according to the embodiment described, uses the same transverse axis 23 as the articulation of the collar 13. This amounts to saying that the articulation of the collar 13 and the articulation of the removable fastening means are coaxial. In practice, the lateral and medial pivots 24 are common to both joints. This arrangement simplifies the structure of the shoe 1, which reduces manufacturing costs. Of course, it may alternatively be considered to shift the joints relative to each other, that is to say to organize them according to two separate axes, parallel to each other or not.

According to the embodiment described, the articulation of the removable fastening means comprises the lateral pivot 24 and the medial pivot. Each pivot 24 has a length sufficient to guide, in rotation, both the collar 13 and the elastic means 30.

The articulation of the removable means has a lateral orifice 36 formed in the lateral subdivision 34 of the vertex 33 and a medial orifice 37 formed in the medial subdivision 35 of the crown. The lateral orifice 36 is in the form of a circular hole 38 extended towards the arches 31, 32 by a slot 39. The width of the slot 39 is smaller than the diameter of the hole 38. In the same spirit the medial orifice 37 is in the form of a circular hole 40 extended towards the arches 31, 32 by a slot 41. Here again the width of the slot 41 is smaller than the diameter of the hole 40. It is thus possible to reversibly mount the elastic means 30 on the rest of the rod 3. Just fit each pivot body 24 in its respective orifice 36, 37, so that the arches 31, 32 bypass the rear of the rod 3, to set place the elastic means. The reverse, that is to say the disassembly of the resilient means 30, is obtained by bringing out the pivot bodies 24 from their respective receiving orifices 36, 37.

En fait l'arche supérieure prend appui sur le pont 16 du collier, par exemple au niveau de son arche inférieure 17.When the elastic means 30 is in place, for example according to the figure 1 the upper portion 11 of the rod 3 occupies a natural position. This corresponds to an orthostatic position of the user's leg. In this case the collar 13 is not inclined towards the heel 4 or towards the front end 5. The rod 3 comprises a rear stop 50, at the level of the heel 4. The stop, made for example by extension of material of the heel, supports if necessary the lower arch 31 of the elastic means 30. The upper arch 32, for its part, bears on the collar 13. In fact the upper arch bears on the bridge 16 of the collar, by example at its lower arch 17.

According to the first embodiment described, without limitation, the upper arch 32 of the elastic means 30 partially bypasses the lower arch 17 of the bridge 16 of the collar 13. In practice the upper arch 32 of the elastic means 30 cooperates with the collar 13 by friction.

As shown in figure 6 , an inclination according to the arrow d towards the heel 4, of the upper portion 11, induces the inclination of the collar 13, also towards the heel 4. This inclination corresponds to a bending towards the rear of the upper portion 11, in correlation with an extension of the foot compared to the lower leg.

Of course the rear inclination of the collar 13 is against the elastic action of eponymous means 30. The latter accumulates energy by elastic deformation, and pushes the collar 13 in a direction away from the heel 4. In doing so, the lower arch 31 is resting on the abutment 50, and the upper arch 32 of the collar 13 bears on the bridge 16 of the collar, in particular on the lower arch 17. The contact between the arches 32, 17 of the collar 13 and elastic means 30, results in friction. In fact the arches 32, 17, slide on one another to obtain a clamping effect. This gives progressiveness to the rotational movements of the collar 13. This also allows the elastic means 30 to grip the collar 13, and increase the rigidity of an assembly comprising the collar and the elastic means, as and when that the collar tilts towards the heel 4. Consequently, the transverse rigidity of the rod increases proportionally to the rear rotation of the collar, that is to say according to the rear inclination of the upper portion 11. The cooperation of the elastic means 30 and the collar 13 is therefore double.

In all cases the invention is made from materials and according to processing techniques known to those skilled in the art.

Naturally, the invention is not limited to the embodiment described above, and includes all technical equivalents that fall within the scope of the claims that follow.

In particular, other structures can be provided for the collar 13 and for the elastic means 30. For example, the collar 13 could have a more regular shape. The attachment means of the elastic means could employ removable pivots, or any equivalent.
