  • a container comprising: a base section having a pair of opposed sides and a pair of opposed ends surrounding a base; a top section having a pair of opposed sides and a pair of opposed ends; and a plurality of columns extending substantially vertically between corners of the base section and corners of the top section; wherein the columns are configured to be adjustable in height.
  • Clause 18 A container as in clause 17, wherein the columns are configured in telescopically collapsible sections.
  • Clause 20 A container as in clause 19, wherein the columns are collapsible to a minimum height, and the corners of the top section and the bottom section are configured to accommodate the columns when collapsed to the minimum height.
  • a container comprising: a base section having a pair of opposed sides and a pair of opposed ends surrounding a base; a top section having a pair of opposed sides and a pair of opposed ends; and a plurality of supports connecting the base section and the top section, the supports movable between an extended position, in which the top section is retained at a predetermined maximum height above the base section, and a collapsed position, in which the top section lies directly over the base section.
  • Clause 22 A container as in clause 21, wherein the plurality of supports include a pair of crossed bars, mounted to a side or an end of the container.
  • Clause 23 A container as in clause 22, wherein one end of each of said pair of crossed bars is pivotally mounted to one of the base and top sections, and the other end of said pair of crossed bars is mounted to slide within horizontally extending slot in the other of the base and top sections, so that the crossed bars can be folded from said extended position to said collapsed position.
  • a container comprising: a base section having a pair of opposed sides and a pair of opposed ends surrounding a base, and columns projecting substantially vertically from the corners thereof; a top section having a complementary configuration to the sides, ends and corner columns of the base section, wherein the top section is hollow and open at the corners of its base such that the top section can be nested over the bottom section in a collapsed position; and means to at least partially close the open corners of the base of the top section, so that the top section can be supported on the corner columns of the base section in a raised position.
  • a container comprising: a base section having a pair of opposed sides and a pair of opposed end surrounding a base; and a collar having a pair of opposed sides and a pair of opposed ends; wherein the base section and the collar are configured to be connected together in an erect position, so that the collar is positioned above the base and the sides and ends of the base and collar together form respective side walls and end walls of the container, and wherein the collar is dimensioned to fit concentrically around the sides and ends of the base section in a collapsed position.
  • a container comprising: a base section having a pair of opposed sides and a pair of opposed end surrounding a base; and a collar having a pair of opposed sides and a pair of opposed ends of complementary configuration to the sides and ends of the base section; wherein the base section and the collar are configured to be connected together in an erect position, so that the collar is positioned above the base and the sides and ends of the base and collar together form respective side walls and end walls of the container, and wherein the collar is substantially hollow an is configured to nest over the sides and ends of the base section in a collapsed position.
  • a container comprising a frame as in any one of clauses 12 to 16, the container further comprising: at least one wall comprising a compressible mesh mounted between a pair of the plurality of columns of the frame, and configured to be moved within the frame between a raised position, in which the mesh is expanded and a lowered position in which the mesh is compressed.
  • Clause 30 A container as in clause 29, wherein the compressible mesh comprises a plurality of generally parallel bands interlinked by deformable V-shaped spring formations.
  • a container comprising a frame as in any one of clauses 12 to 16, or as in clause 29 or 30, the container further comprising a mechanism for locking and releasing the collapsible columns in the collapsed position and/or vertical position, the mechanism preferably comprising a manually operable collar extending around the container, the collar connected to hinges of the collapsible columns such that manual operation of the collar engages and/or disengages the hinges from a locked position with respect to the collar.
  • Clause 32 A container as in clause 31, wherein the collar further comprises slots, each slot for receiving an extension of a hinge of one of the collapsible columns, the slot configured with a recess for retaining the hinge when the columns are in the vertical position, wherein manual operation of the collar releases the hinge from the recess to enable collapse of the columns.
  • Clause 33 A container as in clause 31 or clause 32, wherein the collar further comprises at least one manually releasable catch for engagement with the base section when the columns are collapsed on or within the base section.

Claims (13)

  1. Ein Behälter (1) umfassend:
    einen Rahmen (11) umfassend ein Bodenteil mit einem Paar gegenüberliegender Seiten (3, 5) und einem Paar gegenüberliegender Enden (7, 9), die den Boden (2) umgeben; mehrere Säulen (19), die sich im Wesentlichen vertikal von den Ecken des Bodenteils erstrecken; wobei mindestens ein Paar der mehreren Säulen so gestaltet ist,
    dass es eine Wand aufnimmt, sodass diese in dem Rahmen zwischen einer erhöhten Position und einer gesenkten Position bewegt werden kann;
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass jede Säule (19) des mindestens einen Paares der mehreren Säulen eine sich vertikal erstreckende Aussparung (21) in einer Fläche der Säule umfasst, die gegenüber dem anderen des mindestens einen Paares der mehreren Säulen und einer sich vertikal erstreckenden Führung (22) in der Säule liegt,
    wobei die Aussparung eine Öffnung in der Säule für ein Ende einer Wand oder einer Befestigung davon bietet, sodass das Ende der Wand oder die Befestigung in der Führung zur Bewegung darin aufgenommen werden kann.
  2. Ein Behälter (1) nach Anspruch 1, wobei jede der Wände eine Blende umfasst, die auf dem Rahmen (11) befestigt ist, sodass zumindest ein Teil der Blende in den Rahmen zurückziehbar ist, wenn sich die wand in der gesenkten Position befindet.
  3. Ein Behälter (1) nach Anspruch 2, wobei die Blende innerhalb eines Paares von Führungen (22) in gegenüberliegenden Säulen (19) des Rahmens (11) befestigt ist, damit sie zwischen der erhöhten Position, in der die Blende ausgefahren ist, und der gesenkten Position, in der die Blende zurückgezogen ist, bewegt werden kann.
  4. Ein Behälter (1) nach den Ansprüchen 1, 2 oder 3, wobei mindestens ein Teil der Blende in das Bodenteil des Rahmens (11) zurückziehbar ist.
  5. Ein Behälter (1) nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Führung (22) so gestaltet ist, um das Ende der Befestigung für die Führungsbewegung der Befestigung darin zwischen einer erhöhten Position und einer gesenkten Position der Wand aufzunehmen und aufzubewahren.
  6. Ein Behälter (1) nach Anspruch 1, wobei:
    die Säulen (19) so gestaltet sind, um auf dem Rahmen (11) zusammengeklappt zu werden, sodass die Säulen zumindest teilweise auf oder im Bodenteil ineinander gesteckt werden können.
  7. Ein Behälter (1) nach Anspruch 6, wobei die unteren Enden der Säulen (19) drehbar auf einer inneren Fläche der Seiten oder Enden des Bodenteils befestigt sind, sodass die Säulen durch eine Drehbewegung der unteren Enden davon in eine horizontale Position zusammengeklappt werden können, in der die Säulen auf dem Boden (2) aufliegen.
  8. Ein Behälter (1) nach Anspruch 7, wobei jede der Säulen (19) jeweils einen oberen und unteren Abschnitt umfasst, die durch ein Scharnier (2, 3) miteinander verbunden sind, sodass der obere Abschnitt über den unteren Abschnitt in der zusammengeklappten Position geklappt werden kann.
  9. Ein Behälter (1) nach Anspruch 6, wobei der Rahmen gestaltet ist, um ein Paar Säulen (19) im Inneren einer hohlen Seite bzw. Ende des Bodenteils aufzunehmen.
  10. Ein Behälter (1) nach Anspruch 6 oder Anspruch 7, wobei ein unteres Ende der einzelnen Säulen (19) gestaltet ist, um in einer sich horizontal erstreckenden Führung (22) in einer hohlen Seite bzw. einem Ende des Bodenteils gleitend in Eingriff gebracht zu werden, und wobei ein oberes Ende der einzelnen Säulen für eine Drehbewegung ausgelegt ist, sodass die Säule durch das Gleiten des unteren Endes in eine Richtung zur Mitte der Seite bzw. des Endes des Bodenteils in die hohle Seite bzw. das Ende des Bodenteils gesenkt werden kann.
  11. Ein Behälter (1) nach einem der Ansprüche 6 bis 10 ferner umfassend:
    mindestens eine Wand (3, 5, 7, 9) umfassend ein zusammendrückbares Gitter (33), das zwischen einem Paar der mehreren Säulen (19) des Rahmens befestigt und ausgelegt ist, um innerhalb des Rahmens zwischen einer erhöhten Position, in der das Gitter ausgedehnt ist, und einer gesenkten Position, in der das Gitter zusammengedrückt ist, bewegt zu werden.
  12. Ein Behälter (1) nach Anspruch 11, wobei das zusammendrückbare Gitter (33) mehrere im Allgemeinen parallele Leisten (35) umfasst, die durch verformbare V-förmige Federanordnungen (37) miteinander verbunden sind.
  13. Ein Behälter (1) nach Anspruch 10 oder Anspruch 11 ferner umfassend einen Mechanismus zum Sperren und Lösen der zusammenklappbaren Säulen (19) in der zusammengeklappten Position und/oder vertikalen Position.
