- the invention relates to a color memory unit for a hand stamp, with a trough-like, open-topped container, in which a color memory body is mounted, which is set up in the operating state for dispensing stamping ink to an impression plate.
- pre-inked stamps pre-inked stamps
- the stamping ink required for producing the stamp imprints is stored in the color memory body, which forwards the stamping ink to the imprint plate resting against it.
- the color storage body may be based on various technologies such as a salt washout process, a gel system, a foam (vinyl foam) (PVA) system, but also a fiber body system (PE).
- the so-called flash system in an open-cell foam material, such as e.g. EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate), but also PE (polyethylene), for the production of its own impression plate by means of short flash exposures, in particular with the help of xenon lights, a closing of pores of the open-pore material in those areas brought about where no stamp is to be produced. In those areas in which a stamp imprint is to be generated, however, the pores of the impression plate remain open. Accordingly, to apply the desired image to the stamping plate blanks for stamping, pre-cut EVA plates are placed in an exposure apparatus, together with a foil having the desired stamp imprint image, for example, generated by a computer. By a single or multiple flash-like lighting the impression plate is then generated.

- Such color memory bodies are usually se in a trough or trough-like container, which is open at the top, provided in bag packs. Before the storage body with its container is inserted into the respective handstamp, it is soaked, for example, by the user of the stamp with stamping ink, whereby it is difficult to supply the correct amount of stamping ink to the storage body. This impregnation with the right amount of stamping ink would be easier to manufacture, but then again problems arise when the color storage unit consisting of container and color storage body is removed from the package and inserted into the handstamp, as it usually causes contamination.

- the cutting tool may come into contact with stamping ink, and comparable contamination is virtually unavoidable when removing the inked pad material (PVA or PE) from the package before the impression plate is mounted and the unit is inserted into the stamp housing is used.
