Claims (9)
- Strand cutting device (10) in the tobacco processing industry with a rotating blade (11, 11') and a counter-blade (12) which co-operate with one another, characterised in that where the blade (11, 11') co-operates with the counter-blade (12) a working area is provided which extends along a cutting edge (14, 14') of the blade in the longitudinal axial direction of the blade (11, 11') when the blade (11, 11') is rotating, and a blade roller (15) is provided on which the rotating blade (11, 11') is disposed, characterised in that the blade roller (15) has at least one groove (23 - 26) which co-operates with a strand (27) so that the strand (27) is conveyed and/or chopped, and the at least one groove (23 - 26) has a sharp outer edge (33 - 36), and the outer edge (33 - 36) is disposed between two grooves (23 - 26), and the two surfaces forming the outer edge (33 - 36) are disposed at an angle β with respect to one another which is acute.

- Strand cutting device (10) as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterised in that a cutting edge (14, 14') of the rotating blade (11, 11') and/or a cutting edge (16) of the counter-blade (12) is disposed obliquely with respect to an axis of rotation (17) of the blade roller (15).
- Strand cutting device (10) as claimed in one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the counter-blade is flexible.
- Strand cutting device (10) as claimed in one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the rotating blade (11, 11') is positioned by means of an eccentric device (18-21).
- Strand cutting device (10) as claimed in one of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the counter-blade (12) is positioned by means of an eccentric device (22).
- Strand cutting device (10) as claimed in one of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the at least one groove (23 - 26) extends in the longitudinal axial direction essentially across the entire width of the blade roller (15).
- Strand cutting device (10) as claimed in one of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the rotating blade (11, 11') rotates at a rotation speed which is at least as fast as the strand speed.
