Dokumentenbindemaschine (21) zur Verwendung beim Schließen einer Rückenbindung (1) an einem Stapel Blätter (20), die mehrere Bindelöcher aufweisen (19), welche längs eines Kantenbereichs ausgebildet ist, wobei die Rückenbindung mehrere beabstandete Fingerelemente (2, 3) umfasst, die paarweise vorgesehen sind, wobei die Fingerelemente jedes Paars an einem Ende (5, 6) gelenkartig (4) verbunden und an ihren entgegengesetzten Enden miteinander verbindbar sind, so dass sie eine geschlossene Schleife bilden, wobei die Maschine umfasst: eine Blattaufnahmeeinrichtung, die dazu konfiguriert ist, einen Stapel der Blätter (20) aufzunehmen; eine Rückenaufnahmeeinrichtung, die dazu konfiguriert ist, eine offene Rückenbindung (1) in einer Startposition aufzunehmen und zu halten, in welcher jedes Paar Fingerelemente (2, 3) mit einem jeweiligen Bindungsloch (19) ausgerichtet ist, wobei die Maschine (21) ferner einen Bindemechanismus umfasst, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Bindemechanismus mehrere beabstandete Elemente (56) umfasst, wobei jedes Element (56) für eine Bewegung in Richtung der Blattaufnahmeeinrichtung bei Betätigung des Bindemechanismus angeordnet ist und einen konisch zulaufenden Schlitz (57) aufweist, wobei jedes jeweilige Paar Fingerelemente (2, 3) mit einem jeweiligen Element ausgerichtet und der Schlitz dazu konfiguriert ist, ein jeweiliges Paar Fingerelemente (2, 3) aufzunehmen und dagegen zu drücken und die Fingerelemente (2, 3) zu einer jeweiligen geschlossenen Schleife zu schließen, wenn das Element (56) in Richtung der Blattaufnahmeeinrichtung bewegt wird.
  2. Dokumentenbindemaschine (21) nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Rückenaufnahmeeinrichtung mehrere beabstandete Rippen (30) umfasst, die dazu konfiguriert sind, ein jeweiliges Paar Fingerelemente (2, 3) zwischen jedem benachbarten Paar Rippen (30) aufzunehmen, und wobei jedes Element (56) für eine Bewegung zwischen einem jeweiligen Paar der benachbarten Rippen (30) angeordnet ist.
  3. Dokumentenbindemaschine (21) nach Anspruch 1 oder Anspruch 2, wobei die mehreren Elemente zu einer synchronen Bewegung angeordnet sind.
  4. Dokumentenbindemaschine (21) nach Anspruch 3, wobei die mehreren Elemente (56) die Form von Flügeln (56) annehmen, die an beabstandeten Positionen entlang eines länglichen beweglichen Kamms (55) vorgesehen sind.
  5. Dokumentenbindemaschine (21) nach Anspruch 3 oder Anspruch 4, die mit Markierungen (65) versehen sind, die dahingehend wirksam sind, eine visuelle Anzeige hinsichtlich der momentanen Position der Elemente (56) vorzusehen.
  6. Dokumentenbindemaschine (21) nach irgendeinem vorhergehenden Anspruch, wobei der konisch zulaufende Schlitz jedes Elements (56) gestuft ist, um mehrere Schlitzbereiche (61, 62, 63) zu begrenzen, wobei jeder Schlitzbereich dazu konfiguriert ist, die Fingerelemente (2, 3) einer diskreten Größe der Rückenbindung (1) zu schließen.
  7. Dokumentenbindemaschine (21) nach irgendeinem vorhergehenden Anspruch, wobei entweder die Blattaufnahmeeinrichtung oder die Rückenaufnahmeeinrichtung dazu funktionsfähig ist, die Startposition des Rückenbinders (1) relativ zur Position des Stapels Blätter (20) selektiv zu bewegen.
  8. Dokumentenbindemaschine (21) nach Anspruch 7, wobei die Blattaufnahmeeinrichtung dazu funktionsfähig ist, den Stapel Blätter (20) in mehreren diskreten Positionen, die von der Startposition des Rückenbinders (1) um unterschiedliche jeweilige Abstände beabstandet sind, selektiv zu positionieren.
  9. Dokumentenbindemaschine (21) nach Anspruch 8, einschließlich der Merkmale des Anspruchs 6, wobei die Anzahl der diskreten Positionen, an welchen der Stapel (20) positioniert werden kann, gleich der Anzahl der Schlitzbereiche (61, 62, 63) ist, die in den konisch zulaufenden Schlitzen (57) vorgesehen sind.
  10. Dokumentenbindemaschine (21) nach Anspruch 7, 8 oder 9, ferner umfassend eine Größenbemessungseinrichtung, die dahingehend wirksam ist, eine visuelle Anzeige hinsichtlich einer geeigneten der diskreten Positionen für einen Stapel Blätter (20), die in der Blattaufnahmeeinrichtung aufgenommen werden, in Abhängigkeit von der Dicke des Stapels vorzusehen.
  11. Dokumentenbindemaschine (21) nach Anspruch 10, wobei die Größenbemessungseinrichtung mehrere Stufen umfasst (42, 43, 44), an denen die Dicke des Stapels Blätter (20) gemessen werden kann.
  12. Dokumentenbindemaschine (21) nach Anspruch 11 einschließlich der Merkmale des Anspruchs 8 oder 9, wobei die Blattaufnahmeeinrichtung einen beweglichen Betätigungshandgriff oder -reiter (40) umfasst, der in Ausrichtung mit jeder Stufe (42, 43, 44) selektiv positioniert werden kann, um den Stapel Blätter (20) in einer jeweiligen diskreten Position zu positionieren.
