  • Figure 3 shows an embodiment of the floor panel provided with the mechanical locking system and curved edges (10, 10') at the long edges and a decorative groove (30) at only one of the opposite short edges (25a, 25b).

  • the surface of the press tool (9) may be ground and/or tempered.
  • a material of tempered steel with a hardness of about 30-40 HRC may be used for the press tool, which may be tempered by nitro-carburizing to about 60-70 HRC and advantageously ground to a roughness of about 0,2 Ra.
  • Other method may be used for tempering for which a hardness may be achieved of about 3000-4000 Vickers.
  • a harder and smother press tool is desired, but leads to greater costs.
  • the press tool (9) may be provided with a groove with a circular (50) or an elliptic shape (51, 52), which creates a corresponding circular or elliptic shape of the curved edge of the building panel.

  • the edge of the tool closest the middle of the building panel is preferably provided with a clearance angel (53) .
  • the embodiment of the building panel shown in figure 2 preferably comprises a core of a wood based material, e.g. HDF or MDF and a decorative layer of a laminate comprising paper sheets and a resin or a decorative printing, which combination is suitable for compression.

  • the building panel is provided with a balancing layer (5).
  • the core at the curve shaped edge is compressed more than 0,5 mm and most preferably more than 0,7 mm.
  • a preferred range of compression is between 0,5 mm to 1mm. Also a smaller degree of compression is obviously possible, and even a larger, but a curved edge or bevel in this range looks the most natural. With the method and the device according to the invention a building panel with such a deep compression is possible to achieve without cracks in the decorative surface.
  • the compressed edge may also comprise a straight part.

Claims (12)

  1. Vorrichtung zum Herstellen einer Gebäudeplatte (1, 2) mit einem zusammengedrückten und gewölbten Kantenabschnitt (10), wobei die Vorrichtung eine Heizvorrichtung, die so eingerichtet ist, dass sie die Kante der Gebäudeplatte erhitzt, und ein Presswerkzeug (9) umfasst, das so eingerichtet ist, dass es den Kern (3) der Gebäudeplatte an ihrer Kante zusammendrückt, wobei die Oberfläche des Presswerkzeugs (9) geschliffen und gehärtet ist; und
    das Presswerkzeug (9) drehbar angeordnet und so eingerichtet ist, dass es sich dreht, wenn der Druck auf die Kante der Gebäudeplatte ausgeübt wird,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Vorrichtung eine Schmiervorrichtung (41) umfasst, die der Zusammendrückzone ein Schmiermittel zuführt.
  2. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, wobei das Schmiermittel dem Presswerkzeug (9) zugeführt wird.
  3. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, wobei das Schmiermittel der Kante der Gebäudeplatte zugeführt wird.
  4. Vorrichtung nach einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, wobei das Schmiermittel ein Teflonöl ist.
  5. Vorrichtung nach einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, wobei die Heizeinrichtung ein Infrarot-Heizelement umfasst.
  6. Vorrichtung nach einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, wobei die Vorrichtung eine Presswerkzeug-Heizvorrichtung umfasst.
  7. Vorrichtung nach einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, wobei das Presswerkzeug (9) eine Nut mit einer elliptischen oder kreisartigen Form (50, 51, 52) umfasst, der größere Radius in einer Ebene parallel zu der Dekorfläche, und der kleinere Radius in einer Ebene vertikal zu der Dekorfläche liegt.
  8. Verfahren zum Herstellen einer Gebäudeplatte (1, 2) mit einem zusammengedrückten und gewölbten Kantenabschnitt (10), wobei das Verfahren umfasst:
    Erhitzen einer Kante der Gebäudeplatte (1, 2),
    Schmieren der Kante der Gebäudeplatte oder eines Presswerkzeugs (9) und
    Zusammendrücken des Kerns an der Kante der Gebäudeplatte mit dem Presswerkzeug (9), wobei das Presswerkzeug eine geschliffene und gehärtete Fläche aufweist und drehbar angeordnet und so eingerichtet ist, dass es sich dreht, wenn der Druck auf die Kante der Gebäudeplatte ausgeübt wird.
  9. Verfahren nach Anspruch 8, wobei das Verfahren Erhitzen des Presswerkzeugs (9) umfasst.
  10. Verfahren nach Anspruch 8 oder 9, wobei das Verfahren Bewegen der Gebäudeplatte (1, 2) relativ zu dem Presswerkzeug (9) über eine Fördereinrichtung (40) umfasst.
  11. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 8-10, wobei die Kante auf eine Tiefe (CD) von ungefähr 0,5 mm oder mehr, auf eine Tiefe (CD) von ungefähr 0,7 mm oder mehr oder auf eine Tiefe (CD) im Bereich von ungefähr 0,5 mm bis 1 mm zusammengedrückt wird.
  12. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 8-11, wobei der gewölbte Kantenabschnitt (10) eine elliptische oder kreisartige Form hat.
