Definitions

  • the present invention relates to three methods for selecting and validating electronic tickets by a near-field-capable electronic terminal, in particular by a mobile telephone.
  • Mobile telephones with an integrated ticket application are also known. This saves the customer the purchase of a ticket or the search for the appropriate small change for the ticket vending machine.
  • the mobile phones are provided with near-field communication functionality and the means of transport, such as train or bus, are equipped with special readers. When entering and leaving the vehicle, passengers pass their mobile phone a short distance past the installed readers. In doing so, they receive a feedback as to whether the registration or deregistration was successful. The driving data is stored safely in the mobile phone. At the end of the month, the customer receives from the provider of the means of transport the monthly invoice including a list of all journeys.
  • Near field communication near field communication
  • ECMA 340 near field communication
  • ETSI TS 102 90 Devices for near-field communication per se are already known from the prior art and specified for example in ISO 18092, ECMA 340 and ETSI TS 102 90.
  • Two terminal devices equipped with corresponding means for near-field communication are briefly held together and identify themselves via the device for near-field communication. After successful identification, a data exchange can take place.
  • the distances for such local communication move advantageously in the range of a few centimeters to 30cm, especially in a range between one and 10 centimeters.
  • RFID Radio Frequency Identification
  • An RFID chip or tag can be active or passive.
  • An active RFID chip or tag has a microchip, an antenna, and an energy source, while a passive RFID chip or tag has only a microchip and an antenna.
  • Active RFID chips or tags are in a rest position, in which they send no signals. Only when they receive a specific activation signal, their transmitter is activated. Passive transponders draw their energy to transmit information from received radio waves. That a passive RFID chip or tag receives the energy required to send out a signal from the radio waves emitted by a reader.
  • the GB 2 421 663 A discloses a data exchange between a communication device, such as a mobile phone, and a Communication device that can be configured as an RFID tag, in particular a passive tag.
  • the communication device performs steps: activating the communication device, ie the tag, by holding the communication device to the tag;
  • the communication device may receive data from the tag;
  • the communication device may process the received data and display it on an output device.
  • a contactless mobile communication device exists in a station of a passenger transportation system.
  • the time of check in to the passenger transport system and the time of check out from the passenger transport system is logged by the passenger transport system.
  • a radio receives an electronic ticket on request at a ticket issuing system.
  • the received electronic ticket is encrypted and therefore still needs to be decrypted.
  • the decryption of the electronic ticket must be carried out by the radio itself. Therefore, the radio has a security element for decrypting the electronic ticket.
  • the object of the invention is to provide at least one method for selecting and validating electronic tickets by a near-field-capable electronic terminal, in particular by a mobile phone, which is particularly simple and inexpensive to carry out.
  • the near-field-communicable electronic terminal may be a mobile phone, a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant), a smartphone, or a similar small portable mobile device.
  • the electronic terminal has at least one transmitting / receiving unit, also referred to as a reading device.
  • the ticket tag can be designed as an active or passive tag.
  • the ticket tag is activated by holding the electronic device to the ticket tag, in particular at a distance of less than 30 cm.
  • the electronic device is preferably introduced at a distance of less than 5 cm on the ticket day.
  • the electronic terminal receives the ticket initial data sent by the ticket tag.
  • the ticket initial data represents special ticket data, which shows which type of ticket it is.
  • the ticket initial data may be data about the ticket type or the price of a ticket.
  • After receiving the ticket initial data these are processed by a ticket application associated with the electronic terminal, the ticket application providing ticket information associated with the ticket initial data. After providing the ticket information, these are displayed by an output device of the electronic terminal. The user of the electronic device recognizes on the basis of the presentation of the ticket information, which type of ticket it is.
  • the ticket application converts the ticket initial data into displayable ticket information.
  • the user generates an electronic ticket by selecting the displayed ticket information.
  • the ticket application represents the ticket information such that the user selects the electronic ticket, for example, by clicking on the ticket information or by verbally entering a selection confirmation, which is then generated by the electronic device.
  • the electronic terminal In a next step, the electronic terminal generates a time stamp and assigns the time stamp to the selected electronic ticket. That the electronic ticket will be timestamped.
  • the electronic terminal transmits the timestamped electronic ticket by near-field communication to a signing day, the transmission being effected after activating the signing tag, the electronic device being connected to the signing tag, in particular at a distance of less than 30 cm, is held.
  • the electronic device For a particularly secure activation of the signing tag, the electronic device is brought in at a distance of less than 5 cm on the signing day.
  • the activated signing tag provides the timestamped electronic ticket with a signature and returns the signed and timestamped electronic ticket to the electronic terminal. This happens when you bring the electronic device to the signing.
