Claims (5)

  1. A brassiere cup consisting of at least one textile component (2) reinforced with a stiffener (3) which extends in an arc in the lower region of the cup (1) and which has one end that rises and meets the upper outward side (6) of the c up, said end being covered, on the inside of the cup (1), by a localized protective part (20), said cup being characterized in that the protective part is a pad (20) made of a flexible material attached to at least one textile surface, the pad comprising a thin marginal part (24, 25) and a thicker central part (23), the marginal part (24) having a relatively straight or slightly curved edge (21) designed to lie along the outer upper edge (6) of the cup (1) and provide the connection to the cup.
  2. The cup as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the flexible material is trapped between two textile surfaces.
  3. The cup as claimed in either of claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the flexible material is chosen from a foam, a nonwoven material, and a thick flexible fabric.
  4. The cup as claimed in any one of claims 1-3, characterized in that the pad (20) is made from a complex comprising a sandwich formed by at least one filling layer between two surface layers.
  5. The cup as claimed in claim 4, characterized by highly compressed marginal parts (24, 25) and an uncompressed or only slightly compressed central part (23).
