    a conveying device (10) for conveying the work pieces (2) in a direction of through-travel;
    a control device;
    an electronic, in particular optical detection device (20) for detecting a position of the work pieces (2) being conveyed on the conveying device (10), and
    an aligning device (30) for displacing and aligning the work pieces (2) being conveyed on the conveying device (10) on the basis of a detection result of the detection device (20),
    characterised in that
    the aligning device (30) has at least one aligning element (32, 34) which is movable in the direction of through-travel at least within limits, and
    the control device controls the aligning device in such a way that the aligning device already actuates the work piece before detection of the position, in particular grips it.
  2. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterised in that the at least one aligning element (32, 34) is movable transversely to the direction of through-travel, this being simultaneously with a travelling movement of the at least one aligning element (32, 34) in the direction of through-travel.
  3. Apparatus according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that at least one aligning element (32, 34) is designed as a gripping element.
  4. Apparatus according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that at least one aligning element (32, 34) is designed as a sliding element.
  5. Apparatus according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that it has at least two aligning elements (32, 34) which are movable at least in the direction of through-travel independently of each other.
  6. Apparatus according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that on opposite sides of the conveying device (10) is provided in each case at least one aligning element.
  7. Apparatus according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that on at least one side of the conveying device (10) are provided at least two aligning elements (32, 34) which are preferably movable at least transversely to the direction of through-travel independently of each other.
  8. Apparatus according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that it further has a second conveying device (40) mounted behind the conveying device (10), at least one aligning element (34) also being movable in the direction of through-travel in at least one section in the region of the second conveying device (40).
