Im Bereich der Trogwanne 9 ist vor und hinter der Arbeitsstation 4 jeweils eine weitere Spannvorrichtung 10, 11 vorgesehen. Erreicht ein bündig ausgerichtetes Paketende die Arbeitsstation 4, dann wird es von der vorderen Spannvorrichtung 10 erneut eingespannt und festgehalten. Ebenso wird ein Ende eines weiteren Holzpakets mit mehreren Holzstücken 14 von der hinteren Spannvorrichtung 11 eingespannt und festgehalten.
