Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for producing a foldable plate, a device for this and a foldable plate.
- Foldable plates in the context of this invention are in particular thin wood-based panels, which are used as rear walls for furniture (cabinets, shelves). As a rule, 2 mm to 6 mm thick chipboard or fiber boards are used. The top of the plates is often refined, z. B. painted. This page should not be damaged. The side edges of adjacent plate parts are foldably interconnected. Either adhesive is used in the manner of a hinge, such as. B. in the DE 198 04 787 proposed. Alternatively, bands are applied to the side edges, which may even extend to the bottom of the plate, such as. B. in the DE 29 15 787 , of the EP 1532 895 or the DE 103 22 218 proposed.
- the invention is based on the object to provide a folding plate, which allows a secure connection of the plate parts and a plurality of folds with less adhesive.
- a simple device is proposed with which a continuous process for producing the folding plates can be realized.
- the foldable plate according to the invention consists of at least two foldable connected panels of wood material, characterized in that two adjacent side surfaces have at least one at least partially connected to the side surfaces glue thread.
- the side surfaces are therefore not known from the prior art, covered over the entire surface, but only partially.
- the size of the glue thread as explained below, has particular strength properties, a particularly secure connection of the plates is proposed.
- the at least one glue thread is arranged continuously arranged over the two side surfaces of the plates to be joined.
- the at least one size thread is arranged discontinuously. Which of these versions is selected, can be determined in accordance with the respective plates or their load.

- the glue thread consists of a variety of filaments, z. B. of monofilaments or multifilaments and is at least partially enveloped by an adhesive.
- the filaments of the glue thread can be arranged in various ways, for. B. largely parallel to each other, arranged crossing each other, they can also be interwoven.
- a method for producing a foldable plate in which at least two pieces of wood material are joined to the top, bottom and side edges at two adjacent side edges.
- the at least two plate parts are connected by at least one glue thread.
- the bonding of the plate parts by a glue thread saves considerable amounts of material to adhesive and thus costs.
- the glue thread is extremely fast to apply, so that the production speed can be increased to more than 25 m / min. Typically, it is between 25 m / min and 40 m / min. This aspect also contributes significantly to the economy of the method according to the invention.
- the glue thread which is used according to the invention for joining plate parts, usually consists of numerous monofilaments or multifilaments, which are at least partially wrapped with adhesive. - the rolling or pressing the glue thread on the side edges leads according to an advantageous embodiment of the invention to an intense and firm bond to the wood material.
- the cooling of the glue thread after application to the side edges contributes to the fact that the connection between the plate parts already has a high strength shortly after application of the glue thread.
- the device has at least one supply of glue thread, which can then be applied to the side edges of the wood material board parts to be joined.
- the stock can be designed differently, preferably it is designed such that the glue thread is removed by unrolling. If several glue threads are to be processed, several stocks can be arranged in parallel.
- the head can carry one or more glue threads. If several glue threads are to be processed, several heads may also be provided for guiding the glue threads.
- the means for preheating the glue thread may be arranged before or after the head for guiding the glue thread, depending on the type of glue thread.
- the means for applying the glue thread on the adjacent side edges are usually formed as rollers which press the glue thread that has been deposited on the side edges there.
- the device according to the invention can be stationary or movable.
- the glue thread can therefore be applied to movable or stationary wood-based panels.
- the device for applying a glue thread in operation cooperates with a feed device for the plate parts to be joined. In this way, the desired production speeds can be achieved.
- the head when monofilaments are processed, the head is designed to guide the glue thread movable. He moves alternately on the side edges of the plate parts to be joined and places the glue thread alternately on these side edges. In this way, a foldable connection of the plate parts is made as soon as the glue thread is fixed on the plate parts.
- the head is preferably designed in this embodiment with an amplitude which is not greater than the strength of the side edges to be joined. This ensures that the glue thread is actually always placed only on the side edges of the plate parts. According to a plate thickness of 2 mm to 6 mm for each plate part to be connected, the amplitude of the head is thus usually between 3.5 and 12 mm.
- a device provided with a moving head is then adjusted in relative movement to the plate parts to be joined in such a way that the head (or the glue thread deposited by the head) has a vibration length of up to 30 mm, preferably of up to 40 mm, more preferably of up to 50 mm.

- Commercially available glue threads can be used according to the invention.
- the glue thread 14 is arranged covering both side edges 6, 8 in a zig-zag pattern and connected to the side edges 6, 8 of the HDF plates 2,4 under the action of temperature and pressure. The joint allows for multiple folding of HDF plates 2,4.
- the glue thread 14 or the glue threads are applied to the side edges 6, 8 of the HDF plates 2, 4 as described below:
- the HDF plates 2, 4 are guided past a device, not shown, for applying the glue thread 14.
- the device is arranged so that the HDF plates 2,4 are horizontal, so that the glue thread 14 is applied to the vertically oriented side edges 6, 8.
- the HDF plates 2, 4 are secured during the application of the glue thread 14 against displacement, for example by means of rollers which press the HDF plates 2, 4 against each other.
- guide strips can be used, which are arranged in front of and behind the HDF plates, and thus also act as fixing stops.

- the glue thread 14 is deposited in each case with an amplitude of 6 mm.
- the feed rate of the HDF plates 2, 4 and the frequency of the head are coordinated so that there is a vibration length of 30 mm.
- the glue thread 14 is thus deposited in a zig-zag pattern that extends between the outer lower sides 16 and 18 of the HDF plates 2, 4 at an angle ⁇ of about 55 ° to the lower sides.
- the glue thread 14 deposited from the head is pressed onto the side edges 6, 8 of the HDF plates 2, 4 by subsequently arranged pressure rollers, so that a firm connection is produced.
- a cooling roller For accelerated strength development is followed by the pressure roller, a cooling roller.
- glue threads can be processed with appropriate use of multiple heads, heaters and rollers.
- two heated glue threads from two heads can be deposited in an oppositely directed zig-zag pattern on the side edges of the plates to be joined, pressed by pressure rollers and accelerated by chill rolls.
- a prefabricated scrim or tissue of glue threads can be stored on the side edges of the plates to be joined.
- the production of a folding connection by applying a glue thread can be incorporated in numerous methods for producing folding plates. For example, it is proposed to place two fibreboards with the visible sides on each other, first the edges of two adjacent side edges of the two plates to edit, so to straighten or profile. Then the plates are aligned at these side edges and the adjacent side edges of the opposite side can be straightened or profiled. On the thus prepared adjacent side edges can now be applied either on one side of the fiberboard of the glue thread. Alternatively, glue threads may be applied to both adjacent pairs of side edges. In the latter case, a separating cut is then required to provide two foldable plates.
- a third proposal it is possible to lay an even number of plates (more than two) on each other, to align and to create a straight surface of adjacent side edges.
- the alignment is usually done by straightening or profiling a first side edge and adjusting the plates at that side edge. Then a second side edge is straightened or profiled and it is applied the glue thread. It is important to ensure that a glue thread in each case overlaps at least two adjacent side edges and connects.
- the glue thread can also connect a larger, even number of plates together.
- the glue thread can be separated during the dissolution of the plate stack so that in each case two adjoining plates are connected by a glue thread. If the separation is to be avoided, readily applicator devices can be aligned so that z. B. juxtaposed heads connect the individual pairs of plates together.

What is known is a method for producing a foldable plate, in which at least two pieces of wood material are joined to the top, bottom and side edges at two adjacent side edges. According to the invention, the at least two plate parts are connected by at least one glue thread. The bonding of the plate parts by a glue thread saves considerable amounts of material to adhesive and thus costs. At the same time it should be emphasized as an advantage of the invention that the glue thread is extremely fast to apply, so that the production speed can be increased to more than 25 m / min. Typically, it is between 25 m / min and 40 m / min. This aspect also contributes significantly to the economy of the method according to the invention.
The glue thread, which is used according to the invention for joining plate parts, usually consists of numerous monofilaments or multifilaments, which are at least partially wrapped with adhesive. Typical fibers are z. B. glass fiber or polyamide fibers. Due to the internal thread or the filaments, the glue thread has a high tensile strength in the longitudinal direction of the thread. It can therefore be processed well at high production speeds.
Preferably, a hotmelt adhesive is used as adhesive for the glue threads. Hotmelt adhesives are usually easy to process. Particularly preferred is the use of z. As polyamide adhesives or postcrosslinking polyurethane adhesive. Although the post-crosslinking PU adhesive must be stored and processed under a protective gas atmosphere, it undergoes a genuine chemical bond with the wood fibers in a post-crosslinking reaction after application. This leads to a high quality bond.
Glue threads used to join panel members to a foldable panel are manufactured as continuous strands that allow continuous work when joining panel members. They can be used in customized dimensions. Common are finished glue threads with a thickness of 50 to 250 microns and a width of 1 to 10 mm for connecting the plate parts. It has proved to be advantageous to select the glue thread so that its width at least equal to the width of a plate to be processed into a folding plate. In a folding plate of two 4 mm HDF boards, the glue thread is therefore preferably 4 mm wide or possibly wider.
Glue threads can be guided over the adjacent side edges of the plate parts to be joined so that a reliable and resilient foldable plate is formed. Alternatively, several glue threads can be placed on the side edges of the plate parts, for example, two crossed glue threads z. B. be applied in opposing zig-zag or wave patterns. Glue threads can also be connected to a scrim or tissue. This scrim or fabric can then be placed in linear motion on the side edges to be joined.
A scrim or tissue may advantageously be composed of different glue strands become. Depending on the direction or position of the individual glue threads in the scrim or tissue z. As a particularly tensile thread or a particularly high adhesive application can be selected to produce an optimum between the strength of the compound and the cost of the glue line.
According to the invention, the at least one glue thread is guided over the adjoining side edges of the plate parts to be joined and applied to the side edges. In this case, the glue thread can be alternately deposited on the adjoining side edges, for example in a zig-zag pattern or in a wavy pattern. It is preferred that the at least one glue thread is arranged at an angle relative to the mutually parallel upper sides and lower sides of the plate parts, advantageously at an angle α between 10 ° and 85 ° relative to the upper side of the plate parts.
In particular, when using thermoplastic adhesives is preferred that the glue thread is heated when hitting the side edges. The warm-up can be done in any way. The warm-up can thus z. B. done with economical use of energy and it is an intensive bond to the wood material produced. Also, the rolling or pressing the glue thread on the side edges leads according to an advantageous embodiment of the invention to an intense and firm bond to the wood material. Finally, the cooling of the glue thread after application to the side edges according to a particular embodiment of the method contributes to the fact that the connection between the plate parts already has a high strength shortly after application of the glue thread.

The stock can be designed differently, preferably it is designed such that the glue thread is removed by unrolling. If several glue threads are to be processed, several stocks can be arranged in parallel. The head can carry one or more glue threads. In particular, when monofilaments are processed, the head is designed to guide the glue thread movable. He moves alternately on the side edges of the plate parts to be joined and places the glue thread alternately on these side edges. In this way, a foldable connection of the plate parts is made as soon as the glue thread is fixed on the plate parts. The head is preferably designed in this embodiment with an amplitude which is not greater than the strength of the side edges to be joined. This ensures that the glue thread is actually always placed only on the side edges of the plate parts. According to a plate thickness of 2 mm to 6 mm for each plate part to be connected, the amplitude of the head is thus usually between 3.5 and 12 mm. A device provided with a moving head is then adjusted in relative movement to the plate parts to be joined in such a way that the head (or the glue thread deposited by the head) has a vibration length of up to 30 mm, preferably of up to 40 mm, more preferably of up to 50 mm.

The
The
The
Instead of only one glue thread and several glue threads can be processed with appropriate use of multiple heads, heaters and rollers. For example, two heated glue threads from two heads can be deposited in an oppositely directed zig-zag pattern on the side edges of the plates to be joined, pressed by pressure rollers and accelerated by chill rolls. Also, a prefabricated scrim or tissue of glue threads can be stored on the side edges of the plates to be joined. By pressing on and possibly cooling it is thus possible to produce a multiply foldable plate with a stable connection.
The production of a folding connection by applying a glue thread can be incorporated in numerous methods for producing folding plates.
Alternatively, it is possible to lay chipboard or fiberboard together, to straighten a pair of adjacent side edges, to align the overlapping panels with these side edges, and then to straighten or profile the opposing pair of contiguous side edges. The glue thread is then applied to this last processed pair of side edges. After applying and consolidating the glue thread on the plates, the foldable plate is ready.
According to a third proposal, it is possible to lay an even number of plates (more than two) on each other, to align and to create a straight surface of adjacent side edges. The alignment is usually done by straightening or profiling a first side edge and adjusting the plates at that side edge. Then a second side edge is straightened or profiled and it is applied the glue thread. It is important to ensure that a glue thread in each case overlaps at least two adjacent side edges and connects. The glue thread can also connect a larger, even number of plates together. Then, for the production of folding plates, the glue thread can be separated during the dissolution of the plate stack so that in each case two adjoining plates are connected by a glue thread. If the separation is to be avoided, readily applicator devices can be aligned so that z. B. juxtaposed heads connect the individual pairs of plates together.
