Description

The invention relates to a method of packaging sheet (s), formed in a material incorporating tobacco, and the packaging thus produced.

Such sheets, formed in a material incorporating tobacco, are known to tobacco users.

These leaves allow consumers to make their own cigar by filling the leaves with a mixture of tobacco they have previously chosen; then roll the mixture into the sheet to form a cigar. Thus, these sheets make it possible to adapt the cigars, according to the tastes of the consumer.

In addition, these sheets have taste qualities superior to conventional paper rolls and may, in some cases, contain additional flavors.

However, the sheets formed in a material incorporating tobacco, also called "blunt", are more fragile than conventional rolling paper sheets. Indeed, the presence of tobacco makes the leaves more friable. This defect is all the more aggravated that the leaves are not packaged hermetically to moisture. Indeed, the venting of the leaves, for a few minutes, causes their drying and they become, then, very fragile and, therefore, unusable. In addition, exposure of the leaves to the open air deteriorates the taste and aromas of the leaves.

Thus, the quality of the packaging of these sheets is critical to reduce the disadvantages mentioned above.

US 20050072437 .In the prior art, packages of this type of sheet are known and described in US Pat. US 6,742,525 and in patent applications US 20050072439 and US 20050072437 .

The patent US 6,742,525 proposes to wind the sheet on a tube in order to stiffen the assembly, then to pack the tube and the sheet in a hermetic flexible packaging. However, this solution is not entirely satisfactory because it requires the use of an inner tube to ensure the rigidity of the packaging. In addition, when the flexible package is opened, the hermeticity of the packaging is no longer assured.

The patent application US 20050072437 proposes to wrap the tobacco leaf around a cigar and then package the resulting assembly in a flexible package; the flexible package is then disposed in a rigid housing. However, this solution is expensive and relatively complex because it requires many packaging elements and the presence of a cigar.

Ainsi, lorsque le récipient est ouvert, les feuilles de tabac s'assèchent et se dégradent rapidementThe patent application US 20050072439 proposes to arrange the sheets formed in a material incorporating tobacco on flexible packaging sheets and then to wind the assembly around a cylindrical roller. The roll can then be removed and the objects thus obtained are packaged, possibly batchwise, in a container to be conveyed to consumers. However, this solution has disadvantages. Indeed, this solution requires the use of a cylindrical roller. In addition, when the container is open, the packaging sheet is not sufficiently sealed to ensure the preservation of the initial properties of the sheet and not sufficiently rigid to ensure its physical integrity. Thus, when the container is opened, the tobacco leaves dry and degrade quickly

The invention aims to remedy these problems by proposing a method of packaging sheets of the type formed in a material incorporating tobacco that is simple, inexpensive and ensures the taste properties and physical integrity of said sheets.

À cet effet, et selon un premier aspect, l'invention propose un procédé selon la revendication 1.For this purpose, and according to a first aspect, the invention provides a method according to claim 1.

Thus, the process is relatively simple and requires few conditioning steps because the sheet is directly wound on itself.

Moreover, the case ensures both the rigidity of the packaging and its hermeticity which guarantees the properties and integrity of the sheet thus packaged. In addition, such a case allows relatively easy packaging for operators.

The tubes are manufactured by cutting a hollow plastic rod made of thermo-sealable material and sealing by heat-sealing one end of the tube. Thus, the manufacture of the case is easy and inexpensive and can be performed directly on the packaging site.

In one embodiment, the tubes are made of polypropylene or polyethylene.

Each tube is cut to a length of between 75 and 95% of the length of the sheet. Thus, the tubes overlap over a significant distance to provide a good hermeticity to the case thus produced.

The method comprises a step of installing removable means for fixing the tubes to one another. This characteristic makes it possible to guarantee that the tubes do not dissociate.

Advantageously, the method further comprises a step of packaging at least one case comprising a sheet in a flexible package. Thus, the flexible packaging improves the sealing of the packaging and allows the registration of product information.

In one embodiment of the invention, a plurality of cases are packaged in the flexible package.

It will be appreciated that the flexible package may contain a plurality of cases without affecting the quality of the sheets. Indeed, according to the invention, when the flexible packaging is open, the leaves do not degrade due to the hermeticity of the case.

Advantageously, the flexible packaging is hermetic to guarantee the freshness of the sheet. In one embodiment, the package is made of a composite material comprising an aluminum foil.

According to a second aspect, the invention relates to a packaging of at least one sheet formed in a material incorporating tobacco according to claim 8.

Advantageously, the packaging comprises a flexible hermetic packaging in which is disposed at least one cylindrical rigid case comprising a sheet.

  • la figure 1 est une vue schématique en perspective d'une feuille enroulée ;
Other objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description, made with reference to the appended drawings, in which:
  • the figure 1 is a schematic perspective view of a rolled sheet;
  • the figure 2 is a schematic view of a cylindrical rigid case composed of two nestable tubes, and closed at their opposite end.
  • the figure 3 is a schematic view of a packaging made according to one embodiment of the invention, when the wrapped sheet is inserted into the case; and
  • the figure 4 is a schematic view of a packaging made according to one embodiment of the invention, two cases comprising a sheet being packaged in an airtight package; and
  • the figure 5 is a schematic view of a packaging made according to another embodiment, three cases being packaged in a hermetic package.

The figure 1 represents a sheet 1 wound on itself. According to the invention, this sheet 1 is made of a material incorporating tobacco. The sheet 1 may be a natural tobacco leaf or a composite sheet whose composition is substantially as follows: 50 to 65% of tobacco, 30 to 50 of paper and 3 to 10% of natural or artificial flavors (apple, strawberry, vanilla, whiskey ...). The sheet 1 is provided on one of its lateral sides with a bonding strip, not shown.

Note that, according to the invention, the term "wound on itself" means a sheet 1 wound without the aid of an inner cylindrical support.

The figure 2 represents a cylindrical rigid case 9 for receiving the sheet 1 of coiled tobacco. The case 9 is rigid and composed of an assembly of two tubes 2, 3 closed at one of their ends 4, 5. The tubes 2, 3 are nestable one inside the other. For this purpose, a first tube 2 has a diameter slightly smaller than the second tube 3 in order to allow its introduction into the interior of the second 3. Advantageously, the difference in diameter between the first 2 and the second tube 3 is small, less than 1 mm, in order to give the case 9 a good seal.

The method comprises a step of manufacturing the case 9. To do this, the method comprises a step of cutting a long hollow cylindrical rod, not shown, to obtain a plurality of tubes 2, 3. Thereafter heat sealing is carried out at one end 4, 5 of the tubes 2, 3. To this end, the end 4, 5 of the tube 2, 3 is placed in a heating jaw in order to weld the edges thereof.

In order to allow this operation, the tubes 2, 3 must be made of a heat-sealable material. For this purpose, the tubes 2, 3 are, for example, made of polypropylene or polyethylene.

The tubes are cut to a length 12, 13 of between 75 and 95% of the length 11 of the sheet 1 to be rolled. Thus, the superposition area of the two tubes 2, 3 is relatively long, which allows to give the case 9 thus made a good hermeticity. By way of example, in one embodiment of the invention, the length I1 of a sheet 1 to be rolled is 8.5 cm, whereas the length I2, I3 of the tubes 2, 3 is 7.5 cm. .

The packaging method according to the invention comprises a step of inserting said wound sheet 1 into the case 9 in order to obtain the packaging represented in FIG. figure 3 .

During this step, the sheet 1 wound on itself is inserted inside one of the tubes 2, 3, preferably the first tube 2 whose diameter is smaller. Thus, the sheet 1 is kept wound inside the tube 2. By the following, the first tube 2 and the sheet 1 are inserted inside the second tube 3 until the sheet 1 comes into abutment against the closed end 5 of the second tube 3.

In order to secure the tubes 2, 3 to one another, the method further comprises a step of installing removable means 6 for fixing the tubes 2, 3 on one another. In the embodiment shown, the fastening means consist of an adhesive label 6 which is arranged on the case, straddling the first 2 and the second tube 3. The adhesive label 6 may also comprise indications on the sheet 1 to roll or advertising information. When the user wishes to use the sheet 1, he removes the label 6 and then opens the case 9 by sliding the tubes 2, 3 to access the sheet 1.

In a preferred embodiment, shown in the figure 4 , holsters 9 are packaged in a flexible package to increase the hermeticity of the packaging to ensure the freshness of the sheet 1.

The flexible package 7 may in particular consist of two flexible plates made of a composite material comprising an aluminum foil covered with a thin plastic film and whose edges 10 are welded to one another.

In the embodiment shown on the figure 4 , the flexible packaging 7 is provided with a notch 8 for easy opening of said package by tearing.

The flexible packaging 7 also makes it possible to provide support for the advertising information, the composition of the sheet and the legal notices.

In the embodiment shown on the figure 5 , the flexible packaging further comprises a zipper or "zip " comprising a first slide 11 secured to one of the two plates, and a second slide 12, secured to the other plate, inserted inside the first slide 11 to close the flexible packaging 10.

This particular embodiment makes it possible to guarantee the hermetic integrity of the flexible packaging 10 when it has already been opened a first time.
