Abstract

The device has a rotatable retaining element (7) e.g. high-speed shaft (3), for accommodating a rotor during grinding operation, and comprising grinding wheel (4) rotating around a rotational axis (9). The retaining element is rotatably driven with an auxiliary drive system in a step-by-step manner. The grinding wheel is moved in a Y-direction, and is pivotable around a middle axis extended in X-direction, so that blade tips are grinded in a stationary condition in the direction of large resisting torques of blades. An independent claim is also included for a method for grinding blade tips of a rotor and/or rotor drum for a compressor of a gas turbine plant.

Description

The invention relates to a device for blade tip grinding of a BLISK design trained, comprising at least one blade ring impeller, in particular for compressors of gas turbine engines, comprising a rotatable support member for receiving the impeller and a rotating about a rotation axis grinding wheel, which in a Z direction is mounted along the support member and perpendicular to this adjustable in the X direction carriages. The invention further relates to a method for creating the blade tips of BLISKS.

Grinding devices of the type mentioned are known and are used for grinding the blade tips of separately manufactured and mounted on the impeller blades blades conventional wheels with success, Due to rotating together with the holding member at high speed rotor or the rotor drum (impeller or impeller drum) are the As a result of the centrifugal force, the blades are pressed radially outwards and are thus positioned on the grinding wheel in a stable and yet damped manner during the grinding process.

When grinding the blade tips of integrally constructed rotors or rotor drums of the compressors of aircraft gas turbines occur due to the low attenuation between the disc and the integrally molded blades compared to conventional wheels and grinding significantly higher vibrations. The blades advertise thereby highly loaded and can recover under the effect of the grinding wheel force. The Lifespan and dimensional accuracy are reduced. The tip grinding of BLISK trained wheels can therefore be performed with the known grinding devices only with significantly lower grinding speeds and thus reduced grinding performance.

In order to prevent the disadvantages caused by the oscillation of the BLISK blades when grinding with conventional tip grinding devices and methods, it is already known to mount elastic damping means between the blades. Apart from the fact that the damping means can be released during operation due to the high centrifugal forces, their assembly and disassembly is associated with a considerable amount of work.

The invention has for its object to provide a device for blade tip grinding of wheels or impeller drums of compressors for gas turbine engines in such a way that trained in BLISK design rotors in high quality and life can be made with reduced effort.

According to the invention the object is achieved with a device according to the features of claim 1 and a method according to the features of claim 3 Advantageous developments and expedient embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.

The basic idea of the invention is that the blade tips of a BLISK are ground individually in the direction of the greatest resistance moment of the blades, that is, the grinding direction or the force effect of the grinding wheel and the alignment or the course of the blade upper edge substantially coincide , The individual blades whose vibration tendency strong due to the selected grinding direction is reduced, thereby significantly less burden during grinding. The machining accuracy can be increased and the grinding time and energy consumption can be lowered. Due to the reduced load during tilling the life of the blades, or the BLISK can be increased. In addition, the quality of each adjacent blades during grinding is not affected by flying sparks. The grinding preferably takes place in each case starting from the front edge and the trailing edge of the blade up to the middle of the upper edge of the blade, so that the risk of damage in the case of brittle materials or delicate geometries is further reduced.

The device according to the invention for carrying out the method comprises a stepwise drivable holding element for the BLISK or BLISK drum and a grinding wheel that can be moved in height and pivotable about a horizontal axis in the longitudinal direction of the BLISK drum and perpendicular thereto, so that it can be aligned during grinding according to the course of the blade upper edge, that is to say in the direction of the largest moment of resistance of the blade. In addition, the grinding wheel is also pivotable about a vertical axis, so that its position can be adapted to the cone of the adjacent blade rings of a BLISK drum.

For grinding conventional wheels, the apparatus may have a high-speed shaft for grinding a conventional impeller held thereon and rotating at high speed by means of the grinding wheel stationary and not pivoted in this case in a known manner.

An embodiment of the invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing, in the single figure of a device for blade tip grinding made in BLISK construction as well as conventionally designed rotors is illustrated in more detail.

As the drawing shows, a main drive 2 with a high-speed shaft 3 is arranged on a machine bed 1, on the blade tip grinding a conventionally designed impeller consisting of a disc with detachably mounted in this detachably manufactured blades, or a correspondingly shaped impeller drum ( each not shown), can be attached. In this case, while the blade ring to be worked on the blade tips rotates at a high speed and the blades are pressed radially outward due to the centrifugal force, the tips of the blades thus damped may have one in the same plane (not shown) as the high speed shaft 3 rotating grinding wheel 4 with high grinding speed and be ground in good quality. The grinding wheel 4 is mounted on a carriage 5 which is movable on the machine bed 1 in the longitudinal direction (Z-direction according to double arrow Z) of the high speed shaft 3 and perpendicular to this in the X direction according to double arrow X to the grinding wheel 4 according to the blade height to be able to approach the blade tips (X-direction) and - in the case of a rotor drum - to be able to move to the adjacent blade ring (Z-direction).

For grinding the blade tips of a trained in BLISK construction impeller or, an impeller drum these are independent on a main drive 2 of the high-speed shaft 3 rotatable support member 7, which is arranged on the machine bed 1 auxiliary drive 8 is gradually driven, attached. The holding element 7 is shown here - like the high-speed shaft 3 - for the sake of simplicity only in the form of a central axis.

The grinding wheel 4 rotatable about a rotation axis 9 is held on a supporting column 10 rotatable on the carriage 5 about a vertical axis in the direction of the arrow B. The rotatable connection between the carriage 5 and the support column 10 via a turntable 6 with in this integrated drive (not shown). The grinding wheel 4 is connected to the column 10 so that it is vertically adjustable according to the double arrow Y along the support column 10, that is height adjustable and also according to the double arrow A about a relative to the vertical axis of the support column 10 horizontal axis (X direction ) is pivotable. In other words, the rotation axis 9 of the grinding wheel 4 can be pivoted in the direction of arrow A so that the grinding wheel 4 does not lie in a plane with the respective blade rim of the BLISK or BLISK drum, but rather on the respective course of the blade tips of the blade can be aligned to be machined blade ring.

The method for grinding the blade tips of impellers or an impeller drum with the previously explained with reference to the drawing device is described below as follows:

The blade tips conventional wheels, consisting of a disc with circumferentially mounted in a groove, separately manufactured blades are ground in a known manner such that the wheel to be machined mounted on the high-speed shaft 3 and the grinding wheel 4 according to the double arrow Z to the height of the blade ring to be machined and accordingly the blade height is positioned at the blade tips. The grinding wheel 4 is in a vertical position, in which the axis of rotation 9 is parallel to the high speed shaft 3 and the impeller axis. Now, while the impeller is rotating at high speed, the blade tips of the vanes printed by the centrifugal force are ground in a shock damped position.

For grinding the blade tips of a BLISK drum, it is mounted on the holding element 9 connected to the auxiliary drive 8. The carriage 5 is moved in the X direction and Z direction so that the grinding wheel 4 is set against the tip of a blade of the blade ring to be machined. The axis of rotation 9 of the grinding wheel 4 is adjusted during the grinding process, ie pivoted, and moved in Y direction that their grinding direction is always aligned parallel to the staggering angle of the blade tip and the course of the blade upper edge and thus the grinding wheel 4 bein procedures in the Y direction is aligned substantially in accordance with the course of the blade tip and this follows. The blade tip is thus ground energy-saving in the state of rest in the direction of its highest modulus, so that the tendency to oscillate during grinding is significantly reduced, thereby improving the dimensional accuracy of grinding and the life of the blades is increased. Due to the orientation of the grinding wheel 4 of the upper blade edge, the sparking during blade tip grinding no longer hits adjacent blades, so that their surface formation is not impaired. Preferably, the tip grinding is carried out in each case starting from the leading edge and the trailing edge of the blade to the blade center, so that in the case of brittle materials and / or sensitive geometries the risk of Fogging of the blade tip is minimized during blade tip grinding. A contouring of the grinding wheel according to the Anuluskontur is not required.

After a blade tip is ground, the BLISK drum is rotated by means of the auxiliary drive 8 so far that the next blade of the blade ring can be ground. When all the blade tips of a blade ring of the BLISK drum are ground, the grinding wheel 4 is aligned by moving the carriage 5 on the adjacent blade ring, wherein the blade is aligned by rotating the support column 10 with the turntable 6 so that it corresponds to the cone of the adjacent Blade ring or the cone of BLISK drum is set. Subsequently, the grinding operation is performed on the blade tips of this blade ring in the manner described above.

Apart from the advantages already described, the grinding times are shortened and the effort required for clamping the blades is eliminated.
