Definitions

  • the present invention relates to the field of watchmaking. More specifically, it relates to a chronograph watch equipped with a totaliser mechanism with an instantaneous digital display.
  • Chronograph watches with a digital display are known to those skilled in the art. They generally include a chronograph mechanism including a chronograph wheel bearing a second hand of the measured time, or chronograph hand, and a totalizer mechanism discs.
  • the display of the time measured by disks is either of the trailing type or of the instantaneous type. "Shuffling" means a display created by the slow scrolling of digits through a window, and by instantaneous display, the jump display, at the passage of a unit or a dozen, at the unit or at the top ten.
  • FIG. 1 An example of a trailing digital display chronograph watch is given in the application FR 2 097 126 . It relates to a chronograph watch equipped with a seconds hand of measured time, a minute indicator disc visible through a first window, and a disc indicator hours visible through a second window.
  • the driving energy of the discs is provided by the barrel of the basic movement, via a disengageable transmission train. The drive is continuous so that the energy consumption of the totalizer mechanism is low. The barrel of the basic movement is therefore sufficient to supply energy to the movement and the chronograph mechanism.
  • the dragging display is inconvenient and does not allow reading of the measured time at a glance.
  • one or the other of the indicator organs of the totalizing mechanism may also be jumped.
  • the suggested solution uses a star and a spring.
  • An instant digital chronograph watch is presented in the document EP 1 498 788 .
  • the watch has a basic movement powered by a first energy source, and a chronograph mechanism with a second hand of time. measured, and three indicator discs respectively units of minutes, tens of minutes, and hours.
  • Each of the disks is positioned by a jumper spring, and its driving step requires to overcome the elastic force of the spring at each jump.
  • the chronograph mechanism has three additional energy sources each supplying an indicator disc. Such a solution considerably increases the complexity and bulk of the chronograph mechanism, and increases the costs of manufacturing.
  • the document EP1031 896 describes also an electronic watch, provided with a chronograph whose gear is driven by a stepper motor. In this case, however, there is no energy problem with the power supply of a totalizing mechanism
  • the object of the present invention is to provide a chronograph watch chronograph mechanism with an instantaneous digital display, powered by a barrel provided for basic movement.
  • the invention relates to a chronograph watch
  • the positioning of the second mobile with the first mobile can save an elastic positioning member for the second mobile.
  • the totalizing mechanism thus arranged is inexpensive in energy and can be driven by means of the barrel of the basic movement.
  • the chronograph watch represented in figure 1 comprises a box 10 in which takes place a non-visible movement, surmounted by a dial 12.
  • the movement classically carries minute and hour hands, respectively 14 and 16, a permanent second hand 18, a second chronograph hand 20, and a chronograph minute hand 22.
  • the permanent second hand 18 evolves in a first sub-dial 24 located at 9 o'clock, while the chronograph minute hand 22 evolves in a second sub-dial 26 located at 3 o'clock.
  • the chronograph watch further comprises a winding crown 28 and two push buttons 30 and 32 for actuating, conventionally, a chronograph control mechanism and a chronograph reset mechanism.
  • the dial 12 comprises, according to the invention, a window 34, located at 6 o'clock, through which appear two disks 36 and 38 respectively display units and dozens of hours of chronograph.
  • the movement of the chronograph watch according to the invention is visible, partially in figure 2 . It comprises a plate 39 on which is mounted, on the bridge side, a cylinder 40 feeding a finishing gear 42. Said cog finishing 42 conventionally comprises a mobile medium 44 engaged on the one hand with the barrel 40 and on the other hand, with a small average mobile 46, itself engaged with a wheel 48 seconds bearing permanent seconds hand 18.
  • the movement further comprises, mounted on the bridge side, a chronograph wheel 50 comprising a chronograph seconds wheel 52 carrying the chronograph seconds hand 20.
  • the chronograph seconds wheel 52 is engaged with a first idler wheel 54, which meshes with an intermediate chronograph minute wheel 56.
  • Said intermediate minute wheel 56 meshes with a second deflection wheel 58, itself engaged with a chronograph minute wheel 60, carrying the chronograph minute hand 22 .
  • An oscillating pinion 62 serves as a clutch member between the finishing train 42 and the chronograph wheel 50.
  • the pinion 62 oscillates between a free position and a clutch position in which it kinematically links the wheel from chronograph seconds 52 to seconds wheel 48.
  • a chronograph control mechanism of conventional type, not shown, allows the oscillating pinion 62 to move from its free position to its clutch position, and vice versa, under the action of the pushbutton 30.
  • the movement further comprises, mounted on the dial side, a totalizing mechanism 64 intended to totalize the number of hours of the elapsed time and to display it.
  • the totalizing mechanism comprises a snail-shaped cam 66 carried by the intermediate minute wheel 56.
  • a core 67 is situated under the cam 66, integral with it and the intermediate minute wheel 56.
  • a control lever 68 is pivotally mounted on an axis 70. It comprises a first arm 72 forming a probe cooperating with the cam 66, and a second arm 73 provided with a pawl 74, positioned by means of a jumper spring 76.
  • Lever control 68 is held in abutment against the cam 66 by means of an elastic member 77.
  • first display mobile 78 mounted free to rotate on an axis 80, and cooperating itself with a second display mobile 82 mounted Free to rotate on an axis 84.
  • the first display mobile 78 is, furthermore, positioned using a jumper spring 86.
  • the display mobiles 78 and 82 are shown in detail on the figures 3 and 4 .
  • the mobile 78 is formed of the stack of a star with ten teeth 87, a friction 88, a locking finger 90, a core 92, and finally the display disk of the units of 36 hours.
  • the stop finger 90 conventionally comprises a locking surface 94 forming a portion of a circle and a lug 96. Their function will be explained later.
  • the display disc 36, the core 92 and the stop pin 90 are mounted free to rotate on the axis 80, integral with each other.
  • the star 87 is mounted free to rotate on the axis 80. It is actuated in rotation by the control lever 68 and positioned by the jumper spring 86.
  • the friction 88 is chosen so that the friction force between the finger of stopping 90 and the star 87 is less than the positioning force of the jumper spring 86.
  • the mobile 82 is formed of the stack of a Maltese cross 98 with ten branches 97 and ten notches 99, a friction 100, a heart 102 and the display disc tens of hours 38. heart 102 and the display disc 38 are mounted free to rotate on the axis 84, but integral with each other.
  • the maltese cross 98 is also mounted free to rotate on the axis 84, at the level of the stop finger 90, so as to cooperate with the locking surface 94 and the lug 96.
  • the branches 97 of the maltese cross 98 conventionally have a concave top, while the notches 99 are substantially flared.
  • the blocking surface 94 When the blocking surface 94, or a portion of the blocking surface 94, is oriented towards the Maltese cross 98, it follows the curvature of the top of a branch 97, thus blocking the malt cross 98 in rotation, by effect geometric.
  • the lug 96 is, moreover, arranged to engage in the notches 99 when the locking surface 94 emerges from the top of the branches 97. The lug 96 thus causes the Maltese cross 98 to rotate.
  • Hammers not shown are intended to guide the cores 92, 102 and 67 under the action of the push button 32.
  • the chronograph train 50 and the totalizer mechanism 64 are stopped.
  • the display disks 36 and 38 display 0 and 0 respectively.
  • the angular orientation of the star 87 and the Maltese cross 98 is arbitrary, since these elements are at tenfold symmetry. This is not the case with the stop finger 90.
  • a first end of locking surface 94 cooperates with a branch 97 of the Maltese cross 98 referenced 97a, framed, clockwise and anti-rotationally. hourly, by the notches referenced 99 ⁇ and 99 ⁇ respectively.
  • the lug 96 is located vis-à-vis the notch 99 ⁇ .
  • the cam 66 is oriented so that the probe 72 bears on the smallest radius of the snail 66.
  • the chronograph minute hand 22 then displays 0.
  • the initial position is illustrated by the figure 5 .
  • the chronograph seconds wheel 52 rotates at the angular speed of one revolution per minute, and the minute intermediate wheel 56 as well as the chronograph minute wheel 60 rotate at the angular velocity one turn per hour.
  • the cam 66 mounted on the intermediate minute wheel 56, rotates at the angular speed of one revolution per hour clockwise. Increasing the radius of the cam 66 slowly rotates the control lever 68 about its axis 70 counter-clockwise. The pivoting of the lever 68 does not cause the star 87 to rotate, thanks to the combined action of the pawl 74, which retracts a tooth referenced 'A', and the jumper 86.
  • the mobile 78 rotates at the rate of one step per hour.
  • the orientation of the mobile 78 relative to the mobile 82 is illustrated by the figure 7 .
  • the second end of the blocking surface 94 cooperates with the branch 97a of the Maltese cross 98, and the lug 96 is located vis-à-vis the notch 99 ⁇ , ready to engage therein.
  • the control lever 68 moves the mobile 78 by a tooth referenced 'B' next to the tooth referenced 'A'.
  • the lug 96 engages in the notch 99 ⁇ and drives the mobile 82 with a pitch in rotation.
  • the totaling mechanism then displays 10, as illustrated in FIG. figure 8 .
  • the totalizing mechanism 64 thus described is particularly inexpensive in energy. Indeed, only the mobile hours units 78 is positioned using an elastic member, the mobile tens of hours 82 being positioned by geometric effect. Therefore, the control lever 68 must overcome only the elastic force of the jumper spring 86 to rotate the mobile 78, and the mobile 82 during the passage of ten hours to the top ten. Moreover, the energy taken from the barrel 40 to overcome this elastic force, is continuously during the time necessary for the cam 66 to perform a complete revolution, that is to say one hour. In this way, the power consumed by the totalizing mechanism 64 is practically constant and low, and does not exceed the maximum power delivered by the barrel 40.
  • the resetting of the totalizing mechanism 64 thus described is done by means of unrepresented hammers intended to orient the cores 92, 102 and 67.
  • the core 67 is integral with the cam 66. Its orientation is to position the cam 66 relative to the control lever 68, so that the probe 72 rests on the smaller diameter of the cam 66. The orientation of the cam 66 causes resetting the chronograph chronograph second and minute hands 20 and 22, respectively.
  • the core 92 is integral with the stopper 90 and the display member 36, while the core 102 is integral with the display member 38.
  • the core assembly 102 - display member 38 is oriented angularly, independently of the Maltese cross 98, which is blocked by the locking surface 94.
  • the disengagement between the assembly heart 102 - display member 38 is made by friction 100.
  • the set of finger stop 90 - core 92 - display member 36 is angularly oriented independently of the star 87, this thanks to the combined action of the friction 88 and jumper 86.
  • the use of the friction 88 which separates the star 87 from the rest of the mobiles 78 and 82, avoids to provide a disengagement system of the control lever 68 for the reset.
  • the totalizing mechanism 64 thus gains in size and simplicity.
  • the locking finger 90 may, in certain configurations, rotate the malt cross 98. This has no effect on the resetting of the display member 38, because the friction 100 makes it possible to separate the Maltese cross 98 from the display member 38. Moreover, the final orientation of the Maltese cross 98 is indifferent.
  • the present invention is not limited to the embodiment which has just been described, and that various modifications and simple variants can be envisaged by those skilled in the art, without departing from the scope of the present invention such as defined by the appended claims.
  • the totalizing mechanism of the watch according to the invention totals hours and tens of hours.
  • the totalizing mechanism makes it possible to measure a time interval up to 100 hours, which is considerable for a mechanical chronograph.
  • the totalizing mechanism could total minutes and tens of minutes.
