Abstract

The table has a main table (2) and an extension table (3) which is arranged below the main table (2) and stored in the level of the main table (2). Two sides (12, 13) are provided and arranged with a rail (9), in which the main table (2) assembly is stored. The main table (2) can be lengthened with the extension table. The extension table is applied in the top level of the main table and the extension table (3) is moved in a lengthwise manner. The main table is then moved lengthwise against the extension table. The table has two folded parts (3a, 3b) which are arranged with the main table.

Description

The invention relates to a table with a main table top and at least one extension table top, which is mounted below the main table top and is movable to extend the table in the plane of the main table top upwards, with a first cheek and a second cheek and with at least one pull-out rail on which the main table top is slidably mounted.

Tables that can be extended by means of an extension table top have long been known in numerous designs. For example, the shows US 759,997 a table with an extension table top under the main table top. To extend a part of the main table top is moved with the one table feet and in the resulting gap, the extension table top is raised in the plane of the main table top. In this table is disadvantageous that the main table top consists of two separate parts, which are separated when extending. This is not desirable for aesthetic reasons.

Extensible tables, in which the main table is maintained during the extension, are through the CH 509 887 and the EP 1 391 165 A known. The extension table top is mounted here on an extendable rail and is raised when extending the table in the plane of the main table top. At these tables, the main table top remains intact. A disadvantage of these tables, however, that they are asymmetrical in the extended state with respect to the cheeks. The table top projects laterally one cheek more than the other cheek.

The invention has for its object to provide a table of the type mentioned, which avoids the disadvantages mentioned. When table according to the invention thus the main table top is to be maintained and in the extended state of the table as in the ground state should be substantially symmetrical.

The object is achieved in that for extending the table, the main table top is slidable in a first longitudinal direction of the table, the second cheek is displaceable with the extension table top in the second longitudinal direction of the table, the extension table top is movable upwardly in the plane of the main table top, the Extension table plate in the second longitudinal direction is displaceable and the main table plate in the second longitudinal direction against the extension table plate can be applied to this displaceable. These steps are executable below.

As a first step, the main table top is thus displaced in the first longitudinal direction of the table. Subsequently, the second cheek is moved with the extension table top and moves the extension table plate up in the plane of the main table top. The extension table top is then moved horizontally in the second longitudinal direction and the main table top is also displaced in the second longitudinal direction until it abuts against the extension table top. These shifts are made so that finally in the extended state, the two cheeks are arranged symmetrically with respect to the table top. The symmetrical arrangement is advantageous in terms of aesthetic design and stability. The main tabletop remains intact.

According to a development of the invention it is provided that the extension table plate consists of at least two folded parts which are deployable when moving in the plane of the main table top. The extension table top can be stored largely invisible below the main table top. It unfolds only when extending the table. The extension table top is preferably folded in the middle.

According to a development of the invention, the extension table plate is mounted on a guide rail slidably below the main table top. This guide rail is preferably arranged laterally offset.

According to a development of the invention, the guide rail for the extension plate is mounted on an extendable frame.

According to a development of the invention, at least one pull-out rail is provided. This is preferably arranged below the main table top and offset inwardly with respect to the side edges. This pull-out rail is thus visible neither in the ground state nor in the extended state. Preferably, this pull-out rail is telescopically extendable.

The two cheeks are preferably not offset at the ends of the table, but offset inwards. These cheeks can be designed to be arbitrary, they can be designed, for example, as a bracket, as feet or closed. The first cheek is slidably mounted on the underside of the main table top. The second cheek is also in the ground state below the main table top and is also not firmly connected to this. In the ground state, the extension table top is located between the two cheeks below the main table top and preferably between the two pull-out rails. In the ground state, therefore, the table is indistinguishable from a non-extendable table, at least viewed from above and from the side. To extend and return to the ground state no tools are necessary. The individual steps are simple and feasible by an individual. The inventive table is also comparatively inexpensive to produce comparatively few items. Another advantage of the inventive table is seen in the fact that a comparatively large extension is possible.

For example, the length of the main table top may be about two-thirds of the lengthened table top. As in the extended state, the second cheek essentially located approximately centrally below the extension table top, despite this extension, a comparatively high stability is possible.

The FIGS. 1a and 1b show the inventive table 1 in the basic position. The table top is here formed by a main table top 2, which has a table top 7 and a table bottom 6. At the table bottom 6, two pull-out rails 9 are arranged, which extend at a distance and parallel to each other. However, they are offset with respect to the longitudinal edges of the main table top 2 inside, such as the FIGS. 2b and 7 demonstrate. The two pull-out rails 9 are in the Fig. 1a - 6a not shown for illustrative reasons. They are connected to a first cheek 12 and a second cheek 13. These cheeks 12 and 13 can be closed, designed as a bracket or in each case as two table legs. The configuration of the first cheek 12 and the second cheek 13 is thus arbitrary per se. It is essential, however, that these cheeks 12 and 13 are offset inwardly with respect to the ends of the table 1, as for example the FIG. 1a clearly shows. This displacement is also present at the extended table, like the FIG. 6a shows. The arrangement of the two cheeks 12 and 13 is in accordance both in the ground state FIG. 1a as well as in the extended state according to figure 6a symmetrical. The table top thus projects beyond the ends of the table 1, the cheeks 12 and 13 each by the same amount.

In the ground state according to FIGS. 1a and 1b is mounted below the main table 2 an extension table top 3. It is located between the two cheeks 12 and 13 and between the two pull-out rails 9. The extension table top 3 is mounted on a guide rail 4, which is also arranged below the main table top 2 and which extends between the cheeks 12 and 13. It is located between the two pull-out rails 2, but not centrally between them, but laterally offset, such as the FIG. 2b shows. This guide rail 9 may be formed, for example, as a rod. The extension table top 3 is pivotally mounted with two spaced-apart bearings 5 on the guide rail 4, such as the FIG. 3b shows. The extension table top 3 consists of two parts 3a and 3b, which are foldable along a line 17. The two bearings 5 are connected at the bottom to the part 3a, while the part 3b is connected to the part 3a only via a hinge, not shown here.

The guide rail 4 is fixed to a frame 18 which is mounted extendable to the two pull-out rails 9. The pull-out rails 9 are according to FIG. 7 formed as profiles and each have inside a groove 9a in the for storage of the frame 18 according to FIG. 7 a sliding member 20 engages. The sliding parts 20 could also be replaced by rollers. The guide rail 4 can thus be moved with the frame 18 with respect to the main table plate 2. It remains firmly connected to the frame 18 and the extension table plate 3 is pivotally connected to the guide rail 4.

On the underside of the main table 2, two rails 19 are fastened, which are each guided telescopically extendable from above in a groove 9 b of one of the pull-out rails 9, as the FIG. 7 shows. These rails 19 are also in the FIG. 7 visible, noticeable.

The procedure for extending the table 1 is explained in more detail below.

Starting from the basic state of the table 1 according to the FIGS. 1a and 1b As a first step, the main table top 2 is displaced in the direction of the arrow 8 in a first longitudinal direction of the table 1. After moving the main table 2, this is according to the FIGS. 2a and 2 B substantially beyond the first cheek 12. The arrangement is thus asymmetrical.

In the next step, the second cheek 13 together with the guide rail 4 and the extension table plate 3 according to the FIG. 3a moved in the direction of arrow 11. The distance between the first cheek 12 and the second cheek 13 is thus increased.

In a third step, the extension table top 3 is pivoted about the guide rail 4 and moved in the plane of the main table top 2. The two parts 3a and 3b are now unfolded. Thus the condition is according to FIGS. 4a and 4b reached.

Now the extension table top 3 is according FIG. 5a moved in the direction of arrow 14 to a stop, not shown here. The second cheek 13 is now centrally below the extension table top 3. Between the main table top 2 and the extension table top 3 there is a gap 16, like the FIG. 5a shows.

Finally, the main table plate 2 is displaced in the direction of the arrow 15 in the second longitudinal direction against the extension table plate 3 and applied to this. This is the in the FIGS. 6a and 6b shown state reached. In this state, the table 1 is extended as shown by the length of the extension table top 3. The main table top 2 and the extension table top 3 are in the same plane. The table 1 corresponds in its basic form to that of the basic position, but is extended. The cheeks 12 and 13 are as shown to be arranged substantially symmetrically and thus offset by the same amount with respect to the end edges inward, like the FIGS. 6a and 6b demonstrate.

The transfer of the table 1 in the ground state is carried out by corresponding reversal of said steps. In a first step, the main table 2 back in the FIG. 5a shown shifted position. Now the extension table top 2 is moved to close the resulting gap 16, folded and pivoted down. Now, the second cheek 13 is again moved against the first cheek 12 and the main table plate 2 is moved back to the normal position. This already reached the basic position.
