Definitions
- the invention relates to a knitting machine, in particular for equipping with a needle set having needles with different foot positions.
- From the DE 35 32 856 C1 is a circular knitting machine with a knitting cylinder known having guide channels for needles and Einsch distributeplatinen. It needles are provided with different foot positions. Accordingly, the associated needle lock on several lock tracks, which are spaced from each other with respect to the needle longitudinal direction.
- the knitting cylinder has grooves, in the flat edge guide webs are used. These form the walls of the guide channels for the latch needles as well as the Einsch Strukturplatinen.
- the knitting cylinder is in an upper part for storage divided the Einschministerplatinen and a lower part for the storage of the latch needles.
- the guide webs extend over the entire height of the lower part of the knitting cylinder and the knitting lock. Accordingly, the needles are large on the guide webs. Between the board lock and the knitting lock the guide webs are interrupted. However, there are two guide lands for each needle or knitting needle containment board pairing.
- the needle bed can be designed both as a knitting cylinder with parallel needle channels, as a dial with radially arranged needle channels or as a flat bed of a flat bed knitting machine. It is distinguished in each case by the fact that at least one of the channel walls of the needle channels on a needle lock opposite Point has an interruption.
- the interruption is preferably a cam curve, that of the cam curve opposite, which does not drive the needle located in the respective needle channel.
- the interruption preferably has a length with respect to the longitudinal direction of the needle channel which is at least as great as the amplitude of the cam curve of another needle.
- the recess thus extends, for example, at least over the amplitude of at least one not belonging to the needle of the considered guide channel lock curve.
- the amplitude of the cam curve is understood to be the distance measured in the direction of the guide channel between the foot position at the furthest driven-out other needle and the foot position at the furthest retracted other needle.
- the arrangement is such that the channel walls support only those portions of a needle laterally, which really need the support.
- Such portions may be, for example, the needle-keyed portions of the needle. It is sufficient if the length measured in the needle longitudinal direction of the channel walls is as large as the needle stroke. The footless portions of the needle body can run freely by this measure without touching channel walls, which reduces the friction of the needle in its guide channel. This reduces the force required to drive the needle.
- the needle may be a machine knitting needle, e.g. as a needle, latch needle, Umitatiadel etc. is formed.
- the knitting cylinder can be equipped with conventional knitting needles. Special designs of needles or knitting tools and adjustments to the modified knitting cylinder are not required.
- the invention is particularly suitable for needle beds which are equipped with a needle set comprising needles with different foot positions.
- the foot positions of adjacent needles are often offset relative to one another with respect to the longitudinal direction of the needles, so that the areas of movement of the feet do not overlap.
- the needle bed is then divided along a line that lies between the ranges of movement of the feet of the needles having different foot positions.
- the dividing line of adjacent body portions of the needle bed is also disposed between adjacent cam curves of the needle lock.
- each needle body is still supported only over a portion of its foot through the channel walls.
- the needle set comprises needles having three different foot positions and the needle lock has correspondingly three lock curves
- the foot portion of the needle is laterally supported only in that area in which the lock curve assigned to this needle is arranged.
- the channel walls of a base body portion preferably form a sequence that is offset in the needle longitudinal direction against the sequence formed by the channel walls of the adjacent body portion by one, two or more disruptiveabrepresented (pitches).
- the channel walls of a body portion preferably also form a sequence transverse to the needle longitudinal direction against that of the channel walls of the adjacent Basic body portion formed sequence by one, two or more needle spacings (pitches) is offset.
- different ring segments of equal design can thereby be provided, which are rotated by one or more partitions against each other, attached to each other and joined together. This reduces production costs without sacrificing quality.
- the basic body sections are preferably rigidly connected to one another.
- the connection can be made by releasable connecting means, such as screws, or by non-destructive non-detachable connecting means, such as adhesive joints, welded joints or the like.
- the channel walls are preferably formed by guide webs (inserts) inserted into corresponding slots. These may be formed of a different material than the main body. They are preferably flat flat parts, which are inserted into the pre-machined slots of the body and fixed there inextricably. The attachment can be done by gluing, riveting, caulking, laser welding and the like.
- the guide webs preferably terminate flush at the end faces with the main body sections. This leads to a simple production without accepting a loss of quality.
- FIG. 1 is a knitting cylinder 1 a circular knitting machine in vertical section and partially illustrated.
- the knitting cylinder 1 forms a needle bed 2.
- This is formed by a base body 3, which consists in the present embodiment of a plurality of annular body portions 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and guide webs 9, 11.
- the guide webs 9, 11 are inserted into corresponding slots of the base body 3 and oriented parallel to the axial direction of the knitting cylinder 1. Between them they define guide channels in which needles 10 sit.
- the knitting cylinder 1 is associated with a knitting lock 14, belonging to the castle tracks 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 for the needles 10.
- the needles 10 present in the knitting cylinder 1 each have a needle body with a foot 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 provided thereon.
- the needle set has several groups of needles 10.
- a first group of needles 10 has feet 21 which engage with the first lock track 15.
- a second group of needles 10 has feet 22 which engage the underlying hinge track 16.
- a third group of needles 10 has feet 23 which engage with another lock track 17.
- a fourth group of needles 10 has feet 24 which engage with another lock track 18.
- a fifth group of needles 10 has feet 24 which engage a lower cam track 19.
- the feet 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 of the groups of needles are thus axially spaced from one another, being reciprocated by the lock tracks 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, respectively, in the cylinder longitudinal direction by an amount that is shorter than the lock track 15, 16 17, 18 and 19, measured in the needle longitudinal direction.
- the individual annular body portions 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 of the knitting cylinder 1 are arranged aligned with each other. This purpose is served by alignment means 26, 27, 28, 29, which in the present example ( FIG. 1 ) are designed as centering means in the form of appropriately arranged centering collars and centering recesses.
- the peculiarity of the needle bed 2 or knitting cylinder 1 is from the Figures 3 and 4 seen.
- the main body portion 4 and the main body portion 8 are each provided with a number of slots, which coincides with the number of needles 10.
- the intervening basic body sections 5, 6, 7 have fewer slots and correspondingly fewer guide webs 9a, 9b, 9c than need to be stored on the knitting cylinder 1 needles.
- Guide webs 9a, 9b, 9c are arranged in pairs on each main body section 5, 6, 7 in order to define guide channels 31a, 31b, 31c.
- the width of these guide channels 31a, 31b, 31c coincides with the width of the guide channel 30.
- the guide channels 31a, 31b, 31c are used to support those portions of the needles 10, each carrying the foot 22 to 24.
- gaps 32a are arranged, which do not contain guide webs. Through these gaps, the needles extend with the feet 23 and 24 unguided.
- gaps 32b are formed between the paired guide webs 9b of the base body section 6. Through these gaps, the needles extend with the feet 22 and 24 unguided.
- the base body portion 7 between the paired guide webs 9c gaps 32c (recesses), through which extend the body of the needles with the feet 22, 23 unguided.
- the recesses or gaps 32a, 32b, 32c interrupt the side walls of the respective guide channel at least over the parallel to the needles 10 to be measured length of the castle tracks 16, 17, 18.
- the recesses are arranged for each guideway just where there are Castle tracks are that do not interfere with the foot of the needle of the considered guide channel.
- each needle is guided only on its hook-side shaft portion and its hook-distal end and on its foot-carrying portion of its needle body.
- it extends freely through the needle lock 14 opposite part of the needle bed 2. This reduces the friction of the needle, in particular their static friction and taking into account the needle lubrication and the sliding friction.
- the number of slots to be milled in the base body sections 5, 6, 7 is halved.
- correspondingly fewer guide webs are required. This is a manufacturing advantage.
- the guide webs 9a, 9b, 9c close at their end faces, preferably flush with the main body sections 5, 6, 7. They therefore require no special orientation, which means a simplification of production.
- the webs 9a, 9b, 9c, 9d, 11 are preferably non-releasably connected, for example glued, to the respective base body section 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Likewise, the base body sections 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 can be glued together.
- the needle bed 2 is understood as a knitting cylinder 1, as in FIG. 2 is separately illustrated.
- the description applies, however, accordingly for a needle bed, which is designed as a dial with the only difference that then the in the Figures 3 and 4 illustrated, adjacent guide channels are not axially but radially oriented and thereby define an acute angle to each other.
- the needle bed 2 described so far can also be formed as a flat bed, in which case the present description in turn based on the FIGS. 1 . 3 and 4 applies accordingly.
- the main body sections 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 are then not ring-shaped but designed like a bar or bar.
- a needle bed 2 for a knitting machine has guide channels for the knitting tools, which are interrupted in particular in the region of the knitting lock, so that each needle is guided laterally only in the area of its foot.
- the needle bed is formed segmented, wherein the segments adjoin one another at a joint, which extends transversely to all guide channels.
- the parting line lies between the castle tracks 15, 16; 16, 17; 17, 18 and 18, 19.
- the guide webs of the individual base body sections 5, 6, 7 are each offset by a needle pitch against each other.
- the base body sections 5, 6, 7 are substantially identical to each other and connected to each other inseparably.

It is an object of the invention to improve a needle bed in terms of the power required to drive the needles.
This object is achieved with a knitting machine with a needle bed according to
The needle bed can be designed both as a knitting cylinder with parallel needle channels, as a dial with radially arranged needle channels or as a flat bed of a flat bed knitting machine. It is distinguished in each case by the fact that at least one of the channel walls of the needle channels on a needle lock opposite Point has an interruption. The interruption is preferably a cam curve, that of the cam curve opposite, which does not drive the needle located in the respective needle channel. The interruption preferably has a length with respect to the longitudinal direction of the needle channel which is at least as great as the amplitude of the cam curve of another needle. The recess thus extends, for example, at least over the amplitude of at least one not belonging to the needle of the considered guide channel lock curve. The amplitude of the cam curve is understood to be the distance measured in the direction of the guide channel between the foot position at the furthest driven-out other needle and the foot position at the furthest retracted other needle.
Preferably, the arrangement is such that the channel walls support only those portions of a needle laterally, which really need the support. Such portions may be, for example, the needle-keyed portions of the needle. It is sufficient if the length measured in the needle longitudinal direction of the channel walls is as large as the needle stroke. The footless portions of the needle body can run freely by this measure without touching channel walls, which reduces the friction of the needle in its guide channel. This reduces the force required to drive the needle. The needle may be a machine knitting needle, e.g. as a needle, latch needle, Umhängeadel etc. is formed.
In addition, can be reduced by the inventive measure the wear of the needle in its guide channel. Furthermore, free spaces are created in the knitting cylinder, which can contribute to the cooling of the needles.
The knitting cylinder can be equipped with conventional knitting needles. Special designs of needles or knitting tools and adjustments to the modified knitting cylinder are not required.
The invention is particularly suitable for needle beds which are equipped with a needle set comprising needles with different foot positions. The foot positions of adjacent needles are often offset relative to one another with respect to the longitudinal direction of the needles, so that the areas of movement of the feet do not overlap. Preferably, the needle bed is then divided along a line that lies between the ranges of movement of the feet of the needles having different foot positions. Thus, the dividing line of adjacent body portions of the needle bed is also disposed between adjacent cam curves of the needle lock. As a result, each needle body is still supported only over a portion of its foot through the channel walls. For example, if the needle set comprises needles having three different foot positions and the needle lock has correspondingly three lock curves, the foot portion of the needle is laterally supported only in that area in which the lock curve assigned to this needle is arranged.
The channel walls of a base body portion preferably form a sequence that is offset in the needle longitudinal direction against the sequence formed by the channel walls of the adjacent body portion by one, two or more Fußabstände (pitches). The channel walls of a body portion preferably also form a sequence transverse to the needle longitudinal direction against that of the channel walls of the adjacent Basic body portion formed sequence by one, two or more needle spacings (pitches) is offset. In particular, in the case of ring-shaped needle beds, for example knitting cylinders, different ring segments of equal design can thereby be provided, which are rotated by one or more partitions against each other, attached to each other and joined together. This reduces production costs without sacrificing quality.
The basic body sections are preferably rigidly connected to one another. The connection can be made by releasable connecting means, such as screws, or by non-destructive non-detachable connecting means, such as adhesive joints, welded joints or the like.
The channel walls are preferably formed by guide webs (inserts) inserted into corresponding slots. These may be formed of a different material than the main body. They are preferably flat flat parts, which are inserted into the pre-machined slots of the body and fixed there inextricably. The attachment can be done by gluing, riveting, caulking, laser welding and the like.
The guide webs preferably terminate flush at the end faces with the main body sections. This leads to a simple production without accepting a loss of quality.
