Description

Drucktuch blanket
The invention relates to a blanket for intaglio gravure printing with at least a first region having a first roughness.
Intaglio intaglio printing, also known as steel gravure gravure printing, uses high contact pressures to produce a tactile tactile image that is not achieved with other conventional printing processes. This tactility is a security feature, which is why intaglio gravure is usually used in the printing of security documents, such as banknotes, bonds, documents or the like. Due to the high contact pressure, the security document is rolled out during the printing process and changed in size. An approximately uniform size change and thus compliance with predefinable tolerances can be achieved by the use of blankets with a rough surface, wherein the structure of the blanket is impressed on the opposite side of the printed side. If a film element is applied on this side, the structure of the printing blanket is also transferred to the film element, as a result of which an intensive loss of the film quality is generally produced in its gloss properties. In this case, a loss in the information content occurs, whereby the safety value of the film element is reduced. The object of the invention is to provide a blanket of the type mentioned, in which the known disadvantages are avoided and can be printed with the security documents with applied film elements, while sparing the film elements in intaglio gravure.
According to the invention, this is achieved by providing a lower second roughness and / or a predefinable depression that can be predetermined in relation to the first roughness in at least one second region and / or a predeterminable lower modulus of elasticity compared to the first region.
This results in the advantage that only a small change in the surface structure of the film element occurs, wherein the gloss properties of the film element are largely retained. By the second region, a lower partial pressure can be achieved, whereby damage to the coming into contact with the second portion part of the security document can be largely avoided. Furthermore, even with other elements, the surface structure can essentially be obtained by means of the second region. This is especially true for optically variable elements, wherein, in addition to an effect foil, for example, an effect color can be provided, as shown favorably. The optically variable element can be arranged on the side to be printed or on the side opposite thereto. In particular, both sides of the security document may also have intaglio intaglio printing.
In a further development, it can be provided that the second region is arranged in the printing region and is designed as a receptacle for at least a second section of an optically variable element, in particular an effect film or an effect color, of a security document, wherein an interaction of the recording with the optically variable element during the printing process is provided. This can ensure that the quality of the optically variable element during the printing process is substantially not affected, wherein the optically variable element can be applied before the printing step with the blanket. In this case, the printing of a part of the optically variable element may be provided. According to another embodiment of the invention can be provided that a substantially continuous transition between the first region and the second region is formed, whereby sudden changes in the stress on the security element during the printing process, which can lead to damage of the security document, are largely avoided ,
The invention further relates to a method for printing a security document in intaglio gravure printing method, wherein the security document at least one optically variable element, in particular an effect foil or an effect color having, and wherein opposite a printing cylinder, a counter-pressure cylinder with a blanket with at least a first region with a first roughness is arranged. Another object of the invention is to provide a method of the type mentioned above, in which the known disadvantages are avoided, can be printed with the security documents with applied film elements while protecting the film elements in intaglio gravure.
Dadurch ergibt sich der Vorteil, dass eine nur geringe Veränderung der Oberflächenstruktur des optisch variablen Elementes auftritt, wobei die Eigenschaften des optisch variablenAccording to the invention, this is achieved in that the optically variable element is at least partially brought into contact with a second region of the blanket during the printing process, the second region having a lower second roughness than the first roughness and / or a predeterminable depression and / or im Compared to the first area has a predeterminable lower modulus of elasticity. This results in the advantage that only a slight change in the surface structure of the optically variable element occurs, the properties of the optically variable
Elementes weitgehend erhalten bleiben, Durch den zweiten Bereich kann ein geringerer partieller Druck erreicht werden, wodurch eine Beschädigung des mit dem zweiten Bereich inElement largely retained, through the second area, a lower partial pressure can be achieved, causing damage to the second area in
Kontakt kommenden Teiles des Sicherheitsdokumentes, insbesondere des optisch variablenContact coming part of the security document, in particular of the optically variable
Elementes, can largely be avoided. The optically variable element can be arranged on the side to be printed or on the side opposite thereto.
In particular, both sides of the security document may also have intaglio intaglio printing.
In a further embodiment of the invention can be provided that after applying the optically variable element on the security document, the optically variable element opposite side of the security document is printed by intaglio gravure printing, whereby the optically variable element can be applied in particular already in the papermaking and, where appropriate at least partially embedded in the paper.
Dabei wird im erstenIn a further development of the invention, it can be provided that the optically variable element is brought into contact with the first area in a predefinable first section and with the second area in a predeterminable second section. It is in the first
Section generates a different surface structure from the second section of the optically variable element, whereby a further security feature can be formed.
Die Erfindung wird unter Bezugnahme auf die beigeschlossenen Zeichnungen, in welchenThe invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which
Ausführungsformen dargestellt sind, näher beschrieben. Dabei zeigt:Embodiments are shown, described in more detail. Showing:

Intaglio intaglio printing, also known as steel gravure gravure printing, uses high contact pressures to produce a tactile tactile image that is not achieved with other conventional printing processes. This tactility is a security feature, which is why the intaglio gravure usually od in the printing of security documents 4, such as banknotes, bonds, documents od. Like., is used. In Fig. 4, a structure of a printing cylinder 3, a counter-cylinder 2 with a blanket 1 and a security document 4 is shown schematically. Due to the high Anpressdrackes the security document 4 is rolled out in the printing and changed in size. An approximately uniform size change and thus compliance with predefinable tolerances can be achieved by the use of Drucktüchem 1 with a rough surface, wherein the structure of the blanket 1 is imprinted on the printed side opposite side of the security document 4. A use of a blanket 1 with a smooth surface leads to intolerable register tolerances, which is why there is a reservation in the art against the use of such blankets 1.
The printing blanket 1 has at least a first region 11 with a first roughness, wherein this first roughness ensures compliance with the predefinable tolerance. The first region 11 therefore has a rough surface. The blanket 1 shown in FIG. 1 has a contiguous first area 11. In other embodiments, the first region 11 may also comprise separate subregions. Furthermore, at least one second area 12 is provided, the second area 12 having a surface area that is different from the first area 11. As a result of this different surface texture, a different impression of the printing blanket 1 on the security document 4 is achieved compared to the first region 11. The second region 12 can in particular have a lower second roughness which can be predetermined in comparison to the first roughness and / or a predefinable depression 15 and / or a lower modulus of elasticity which can be predetermined compared to the first region 11. In this case, the second region 12 differs from the first region in a degree exceeding the manufacturing tolerances, wherein, in particular, the differences in the surface condition can be intentionally generated and predefined. In FIG. 2, the second region 12 has a depression 15 in relation to the first region 11. This version was chosen because of the ease of representation.
The second region 12 can already be formed during the production of the printing blanket 1 or in a subsequent working step by partially changing the surface. If the second region 12 has a lower roughness, in particular if it is formed with a substantially smooth surface, then the second region 12 can be produced by partial cold volcanizing of printing blankets 1 having a rough surface. Furthermore, the surface of a printing blanket 1 can be changed by an imprint, " whereby customary printing processes, in particular screen printing, can be provided. In other embodiments, the use of adhesive films or laminates may be provided to form the second region 12. Further, combinations of the above-described treatments of a rough-surfaced printing blanket 1 may be provided to form the second regions 12. For a long service life of the blanket 1, the second surface 12 should have a temperature resistance up to about 80 ° C, a high pressure stability and a high elongation stability.
The second region 12 can be provided for cooperation with an optically variable element 5, in particular an effect foil or an effect color, of the security document 4 during the printing process. In this case, the impressing of the surface structure of the first region 11 in the optically variable element 5 can be effectively prevented, wherein a change of the optically variable element 5 can be largely avoided by the different surface finish of the second region 12. Between the first region 11 and the second region 12, a substantially continuous transition can be formed. This can ensure that sudden changes in the stress on the security element during the printing process, which can lead to damage to the security document, are largely avoided.
During the printing process, the optically variable element 5 is at least partially brought into contact with a second region 12 of the blanket 1 in contact. In this case, the optically variable element 5 is felt through the gap between the printing cylinder 3 and the counter-pressure cylinder 2. The optically variable element 5 can be arranged on the side adjacent to the counter-pressure cylinder or else on the side of the security document 4 adjacent to the printing cylinder 3.
With this method, in which an unintended change of the optically variable element can be avoided, it is possible to print both sides of the security document 4 after applying the optically variable element 5 to the security document 4 by intaglio gravure printing. In particular, the Intaglio intaglio may partially overlap the optically variable element 5, whereby a high level of security of the security document is achieved.
It can also be provided that the optically variable element 5 is brought into contact with the first region 11 in a prescribable first section 51 and with the second region 12 in a predeterminable second section 52. This will make the optically variable Element 5 changed during the Drackvorganges in the first section 51, but left substantially unchanged in the second section. This difference of the optically variable element 5 represents another security feature. The first section and the second section may be formed, for example, figuratively or to form a code.
The second area 12 is arranged in the printing area, wherein the printing area is the area in which the security document 4 is printed during the printing process. The second region 12 can be designed as a receptacle for at least the second section 52 of an optically variable element 5, in particular an effect foil or an effect color, of a security document 4. In particular, when several security documents 4 are printed simultaneously in the printing process, the second region 12 may comprise a plurality of images, which are arranged in a grid.
