Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an applicator for applying a cosmetic, makeup or care product to the eyelashes or the eyebrows, comprising an applicator member comprising at least one row of teeth disposed on a core.
  • the invention also relates to a packaging and application device comprising such an applicator and a container for containing the product to be applied.
  • the invention is still interested in a cosmetic treatment method using such an applicator.
  • EP-A-1 611 817 discloses an applicator having a core on each of the longitudinal faces of which are connected two rows of teeth extending in respective directions not parallel to each other. Each row comprises staggered teeth, on either side of a geometric separation surface extending along this row. The teeth of a row have planar faces directed towards the corresponding geometric separation surface.
  • EP-A-1,070,468 describes applicators having teeth extending substantially in the extension of an adjacent face of the core.
  • the invention aims to further improve the applicators for the application of a product on the eyelashes or eyebrows, particularly in terms of penetration of the teeth in the eyelashes, smoothing the product on the eyelashes and separation of the latter.
  • some applicators having non-radial teeth must be made of relatively flexible thermoplastic materials because the teeth must be able to bend during demolding.
  • stiffer teeth could in some cases be desirable, for example to cross with less deformation a wiper member and carry a greater load of product.
  • the invention also aims to allow, if necessary, the realization of the application member by molding in a relatively hard thermoplastic material.
