In the case of specific stain remover, the removal of very special soiling is to be made possible by, for example, adhesives, chewing gum, nail polish, floor wax, resins, waxes and tar. Furthermore, the stabilization of formulations, an action as solubilizers, in particular also for highly concentrated or polymer-containing formulations, the improvement in the low-temperature stability and the "clarification" of opaque and slightly cloudy formulations should be mentioned. Examples of solvent-based washing, cleaning and care products are:

For example, the flash point of ethanol or isopropanol is very low at 12 ° C., which also limits the use concentrations in detergents and cleaners.
In addition, the fat-solubility of these alcohols is limited.
Glykolether besitzen zwar einen hohen Flammpunkt, der z.B. für Dipropylenglykol- monomethylether bei ca. 8O0C liegt, jedoch ist auch hier das Lösevermögen fürAlthough glycol ethers have a high flash point, which is, for example for dipropylene glycol monomethyl ether at about 8O 0 C, but here is the dissolving power for

Die Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung ist es, organische Lösemittel bereitzustellen, welche über ein sehr gutes Lösevermögen für Fette und Öle und gleichzeitig über eine ausreichende Polarität verfügen, so dass auch dieThe object of the present invention is to provide organic solvents which have a very good dissolving power for fats and oils and at the same time a sufficient polarity, so that the

These liquids, in contrast to the washing and cleaning agents according to the invention described below, are present only in the form of microemulsions or as liquid crystalline phases. In addition, the acetals in EP 1 184 448 only serve as solubilizers. The actual cleaning performance is provided by conventional surfactants.
It has now surprisingly been found that compounds of the formula (1) alone have a very good cleaning power or solubility for greasy and oily stains and at the same time very good in incorporate aqueous formulations. At the same time, however, the compounds of the formula (1) can also be used in anhydrous formulations as a substitute for, for example, aliphatic hydrocarbons. In addition, they have a favorable toxicological and ecological profile of properties.
The invention thus provides detergents and cleaners containing as solvents the compounds of the formula (1),

Beispiel 1: Lösevermögen von Tetramethoxyethan für Öl- und FettschmutzExample 1: Dissolving power of tetramethoxyethane for oil and grease dirt
The removal of a paraffin oil stain from cotton / polyester fabric with tetramethoxyethane compared to other solvents was investigated. For this purpose, the standard test cloth wfk 2OA the laundry research institute Krefeld was soiled with paraffin oil, which was dyed with the fat-soluble dye Sudan red. To simulate a stain spray or stain remover, the test fabric was then placed in tetramethoxyethane or in the reference solvents for 10 min. Subsequently, the test fabric was removed and solvent-wet with an aqueous wash of the standard detergent IEC-A (phosphate-free detergent of the Laundry Research Institute Krefeld) for 30 min. At 40 0 C washed. The test fabric was dried after rinsing with clear water and then determined as a measure of the stain removal whiteness. The higher the whiteness, the better the red oil stain was washed out.

In addition to the whiteness achieved (remission), the color difference dE of the soiled and then washed fabric was determined to be the non-soiled tissue. The lower the color difference dE, the less residue of the colored paraffin oil is present on the fabric. Ideally dE is equal to zero.
