Abstract

Um die hohen elektrischen und thermischen Belastung am Ende der Betriebszeit einer Hochdruck-Gasentladungslampen zu beschränken, wird eine Schaltungsanordnung zum Zünden einer Hochdruck-Gasentladungslampe vorgeschlagen, welche eingangsseitig an ein magnetisches Vorschaltgerät zur Bereitstellung einer Wechselstrom-Versorgung der Lampe angeschlossen ist, umfassend einen Zündübertrager, welcher primärseitig mit einer Zündauslöseschaltung verbunden und sekundärseitig zwischen dem Vorschaltgerät und der Lampe zur Übertragung eines Zündimpulses auf die Lampe angeordnet ist, und einen Stoßkondensator und ein erstes Schaltermittel, wobei in der Zündauslöseschaltung eine Reihenschaltung umfassend zumindest das erste Schaltermittel und eine Primärwicklung des Zündübertragers dem Stoßkondensator parallel geschaltet ist. Die erfindungsgemäße Schaltungsanordnung zeichnet sich durch eine Reihenschaltung (70, 11) aus, welche ein steuerbares zweites Schaltermittel (70) aufweist und die der Lampe (3) parallel geschaltet ist, wobei ein Mittel zur Erfassung des Maßes der Unsymmetrie der Lampenbetriebspannung vorgesehen ist, sowie eine Steuereinrichtung (50) zum Kurzschließen der Lampe durch das Ansteuern des zweiten Schaltermittels im Ansprechen auf die erfasste Unsymmetrie der Lampenbetriebsspannung.
Ferner betrifft die Erfindung ein Verfahren zum Betrieb einer Hochdruck-Gasentladungslampe.
