Definitions
- the present invention relates to a lamppost of the type used for street lighting and comprising a mast fixed to an anchoring base at its lower end and having a luminaire at its upper end.
- lampposts generally comprising an anchoring base on which a mast carrying the luminaire is fixed are currently used as public lighting elements.
- the lamppost has a vertical mast having a branch or a side arm at its upper end for supporting the luminaire.
- Luminaires provided with a mast with a vertical lower section, a curved intermediate section and an end section extending in a cantilevered manner towards the front area are also known, this type of lampposts being mainly used when streets or traffic roads are to be lighted.
- these lampposts are usually used as elements for supporting traffic lights, this being an additional problem when the cantilevered upper portion of the lamppost is very long, because in the event of suspending the traffic light intended for vehicles at the end of said cantilevered portion, the weight can contribute to increasing the stress and torques transmitted to the anchoring points for the anchoring to the ground.
- a lamppost according to the preamble of claim 1 is described in document US 4242726 .
- the lamppost object of the invention has been designed to solve the mentioned drawbacks, which lamppost has constructive peculiarities aimed at providing greater strength to the anchoring base and allowing the use of a mast with an very long upper portion, substantially reducing the torque transmitted by the mast assembly to the anchoring of the lamppost to the ground and preventing the luminaire from being close to the vertical projection of the anchoring base.
- Another object of the present invention is to allow the assembly of the lighting units on the luminaire in different relative positions and with different orientations such that the light projected by the lighting units can be suitably directed towards the areas to be lighted in each case, depending on the location point of the lamppost or the specific needs of each installation.
- the anchoring base has at its lower part a ring-shaped wall for supporting and anchoring on the ground, extending at its upper surface in a tubular body with an oblique frustoconical configuration and an elliptical section, inclined towards the rear end of the lamppost;
- the mast comprising a considerably cylindrical main body, formed by: a straight lower section coaxial with the tubular body of the base and inclined towards the rear area of the lamppost, an intermediate section curved towards the upper front area, and a straight upper section which is oriented upwards towards the front area of the lamppost, fully surpassing the vertical projection of the anchoring base.
- Placing the lamppost in a position that is fully separated from the vertical projection of the anchoring area allow ensuring correct lighting of the sidewalk, even in the case of sidewalks with trees, because the light emitted by the luminaire will be projected directly on the sidewalk, passing under the treetops and without the risk of causing shadows.
- the oblique arrangement of the anchoring base and the straight lower section of the mast determines that the center of gravity of part of the lamppost, specifically the lower part, is shifted towards the rear area, taking the vertical projection of the anchoring area of the lamppost to the ground as a reference, whereas the center of gravity of the straight upper section of the mast, which is cantilevered, is shifted towards the front area, taking the anchoring area of the lamppost on the ground as a reference.
- This configuration therefore allows canceling or considerably reducing the turning torque caused by the weight of the lamppost on the anchoring area for the anchoring to the ground and subsequently achieving greater stability of the lamppost.
- the luminaire fixed on the upper end of the main body of the mast comprises a lower body provided with a tightening clamp for the fixing thereof on the upper end of said main body and with two lower cavities by way of a spherical cap, which cavities are open at the upper and lower parts, and fastening bushings for fastening the respective lighting units in different relative positions and with different inclinations towards the front and rear areas of the lamppost, said lower body of the luminaire being supplemented with an upper collapsible cover.
- the fastening bushings externally have a curved surface similar to that of the spherical caps defined by the lower cavities of the luminaire, the upper surface of said bushings shaping a suitable surface for supporting the respective lighting units.
- bushings can optionally be exchangeable, using either one according to the inclination that the lighting unit must have, having also provided that a single group of bushings can be used, in which case the spherical surface of the recesses can have several groups of angularly offset holes, to place fixing screws in charge of retaining the bushings in a more or less inclined position.
- the anchoring base will preferably be shaped by casting and has at its upper part an opening and inner perimetric ribs defining a circular passage for housing the lower end of the main body of the mast.
- This mast can be fixed to the base by means of pins, screws or any other similar fixing elements which will preferably be arranged in radial holes made in correspondence with the mentioned inner perimetric ribs.
- the anchoring base externally has reinforcing longitudinal ribs on its entire length and oriented towards the front and rear areas of the lamppost, increasing the mechanical flexural strength of the anchoring base in those directions in which the weight of the lamppost can cause greater stress.
- the anchoring base has a side cutout window with the corresponding closing door or cover.
- the main body of the mast can longitudinally have a series of brackets or flat bars for supporting a second tubular body that is considerably parallel to the main body and has at the upper and lower ends supports for the assembly of signaling traffic lights for vehicles and/or pedestrians.
- the use of a mast formed by a main body and a second tubular body locked to one another by a series of intermediate brackets or flat bars considerably increases the flexural strength of the mast, which is especially interesting when traffic lights, banderoles or other accessories increasing the weight of the assembly are expected to be hung or fixed on the mast.
- the lamppost additionally comprises detachable flanges formed by two semi-casings intended to brace the mast and provided with opposing side holes for the assembly of clamping screws, at least one of the semi-casings having a hole for the assembly of the mentioned banderole, traffic light or accessory.
- the lamppost comprises an anchoring base (1) on which a mast formed by a tubular and considerably cylindrical main body (2a) is fixed, which body has: a straight lower section (21), a curved intermediate section (22) and a straight upper section (23), on the end of which a luminaire (3) is assembled.
- An embellishment element (4) is additionally assembled on the straight section (23) and behind the luminaire (3).
- the anchoring base (1) has a supporting and fixing ring-shaped wall (11) extending at the upper portion in a tubular body (12) with an oblique frustoconical configuration and elliptical section inclined towards the rear area of the lamppost.
- the anchoring base (1) shaped by casting, has at its upper part an opening and inner perimetric ribs (13) for housing the lower end of the main body (2a) of the mast, said main body (2a) being fixed in the assembly position by means of screws (14) inserted through radial holes defined for that purpose in the ribs (13).
- the anchoring base (1) externally has reinforcing longitudinal ribs (15) oriented towards the front and rear areas of the lamppost.
- the anchoring base (1) has at its side an access window with the corresponding closing door (16).
- the inclination towards the rear area of the anchoring base (1) and of the straight lower section (21) of the main body (2a) of the mast compensates, at least partially, the torque caused in the anchoring to the ground by the upper portion of the lamppost projecting towards the front area.
- the luminaire (3) comprises a lower body (31) provided with a clamp (32) for the fixing thereof on the main body (2a) of the mast, and a collapsible upper cover (33) on a front hinge (34).
- the lower body (31) has two lower cavities (35) by way of a spherical cap, which cavities are open at the upper part and in the inside of which there are assembled bushings (36) for fastening the respective lighting units (37) in different relative positions and with different inclinations towards the front and rear areas of the lamppost.
- an embellishment (4) is assembled on the straight upper section (23) of the main body (2a) of the mast, which embellishment is formed by two semi-casings bracing the mentioned main body (2a) of the mast.
- the embellishment (4) has a frustoconical configuration with an elliptical section the outer surface of which is coplanar with the also frustoconical elliptical general outer surface of the luminaire (3).
- the mast in addition to the main body (2a), the mast comprises a second tubular body (2b) fixed to the mentioned main body (2) by means of supporting brackets or flat bars (5) forming an alignment along said main body (2a).
- the second tubular body (2b) of the mast has at its ends suitable supports for assembly of signaling traffic lights (6) for vehicles and for pedestrians.
- Figures 12, 13, and 14 show one of the clamps (7) intended to be positioned on the main body (2a) of the mast and to support a banderole (8) or a traffic light (6) as shown in Figure 1 , or any other accessory.
- This clamp (7) is formed by two semi-casings (71) fixed to one another by means of clamping screws (72), each of said semi-casings (71) having a side hole (73) for the assembly of the traffic light, banderole or accessory.
