Abstract

A device to improve performance of a spark plug for a two or four stroke internal combustion engine, in order to reduce exhaust pollution, facilitate starting, increase the engine performances and reduce the fuel consumption. The invention relates to a device for creating a circulation of the fuel mixture inside the body via oblique venture shaped holes ( 1 ), crossing the spark plug body base ( 2 ), a crossing hole ( 3 ) which is conical on its upper part on the negative electrode ( 4 ), in order to obtain a more homogeneous, broader and more intense spark and to increase the gas mixture density to the spark. This device will also avoid the carbon deposit and decrease the working temperature of the spark plug (like a regulator of the thermal rating).

Description

The present invention relates to a spark plug for an internal combustion engine, two or four times.

Le dépôt de calamine et d'huile brûlée devrait rapidement remplir la "chambre".The patent: US1929748 A which is considered to represent the closest state of the art, represents an extremely "hot" spark plug to judge by the size of the "chamber" (20, fig.3 This was normal for engines of the 1930s (4 to 5 volumetric rate, side valves and excessive consumption of oil, etc ....). To manufacture a spark plug meeting the current thermal indices (8.5 to 12 volumetric rate) according to this patent, it would be necessary to reduce the "chamber" (20, fig.3 ), see the disappear. So its main claim to make holes in a spin (21) to shoot flames from the "chamber" through them, to better ignite the gas mixture, is no longer possible. In view of the long distance between the spark and the bottom of the "chamber", when the spark springs, it will be difficult to burn all the gaseous mixture at the bottom of the "chamber". The deposition of calamine and burnt oil should quickly fill the "chamber".

The patent : FR2841396 , only provides a device for guiding the gas mixture to the negative electrode, but the device can not avoid the deposition of calamine on the candle. In addition, the two orifices and the projection in a spin, weaken the negative electrode due to its small section.

A traditional candle keeps the gaseous mixture inside the base, and at the moment of the explosion the deposit of calamine fouls the candle, and with time degrades its yield. The spark occurs only on a part of the electrode surfaces, so a low intensity spark. The heat of operation of a traditional candle is very important and lowers its performance.

The device according to the invention overcomes this disadvantage. This is achieved by a spark plug, according to claim 1.It has in fact, according to a first characteristic, oblique holes in the form of venturi, passing through the base of the base. These make it possible to create a circulation of the gaseous mixture inside the base, to increase the density of the gaseous mixture with the spark, thus avoiding the deposition of scale, and decreasing the heat of operation of the spark plug (as a thermal index regulator).

The device according to the invention comprises a second characteristic, a hole, conical on its upper part, passing through the negative electrode, which acts as an electrical "vacuum", making it possible to create a counter pressure to improve the density of the gas mixture before the spark, and get a more homogeneous spark, wider, more intense, and through the hole to create a flame front to allow to burn the gas mixture further into the cylinder.

The device according to the invention is intended to reduce pollution, facilitate start-up, increase engine efficiency, lower fuel consumption and control the thermal index after engine warm-up. The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention:
  • the figure 1 represents the candle as a whole.
  • the figure 2 represents the base of the candle in perspective.
  • the figure 3 represents a plan view of the negative electrode with its through hole, oblique in its upper part.
  • the figure 4 represents in cross section the oblique holes in the form of venturi, made on the base of the base, and the hole made on the negative electrode of the candle.
  • the figure 5 represents, by way of indication and not limitation, an example of location and a series of angle of inclination of drilling.

With reference to these drawings, the device comprises several oblique holes (1) running through the base of the base (2) ( fig.2 , fig.4 ), and a hole (3) passing through the negative electrode, conical on its upper part, of the candle (6) ( Fig. 2 , Fig. 3 , fig.4 ), its seat (7) can be flat or conical.
