Claims (7)
- Floor panel (1) with a layer structure (3) in the form of a rectangular sheet with a mechanical locking system (2) provided on at least two opposite sides, wherein the panel (1) contains a decorative layer (5), a core (4) and a fire-retardant layer (7) provided in the layer structure (3), and wherein the core (4) contains a sheet of wood-based material of higher strength, in particular an HDF or MDF sheet, characterised in that the fire-retardant layer (7) is arranged between the decorative layer (5) and the core (4), directly below the decorative layer (5) and directly above the core, extends over the entire width of the core (4) and ends at the faces at impact edge areas (8a) which are developed to abut on adjoining panels in the floor covering to form a fire-retardant layer extending without gaps over the floor covering.
- Floor panel according to claim 1, characterised in that the fire-retardant layer (7) contains non-flammable material.
- Floor panel according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the fire-retardant layer (7) contains a fibre mat.
- Floor panel according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the fire-retardant layer (7) contains a glass fibre mat.
- Floor panel according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the fire-retardant layer (7) contains an impregnation.
- Floor panel according to claim 5, characterised in that the impregnation contains melamine resin.
- Floor panel according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the fire-retardant layer (7) has a thickness of between 0.01 and 3 mm.
