Description

The invention relates to a floor covering with a plurality of floor panels of the type explained in the preamble of claim 1.

Such a floor covering is from the JP-A-09088315 known, which describes a floor covering of a plurality of floor panels, which are interconnected via locking elements to form a recess at the bottom. In the bottom, further recesses in the form of slots are provided between the locking elements, which extend into the core material.

The US 2,088,238 describes a floor covering of individual floor panels, which are provided on its underside with one or more recesses, resulting in further recesses in the assembly of the floor panels. However, these recesses are not designed for a footfall sound insulation, but are filled when laying in the floor covering with adhesive, which forms a good sound bridge.

JP 2003-147950 describes a floor material with a core (matrix 2) made of a soft plastic material. The floor material should have a soundproofing effect, which should be achieved by making the core with a spring rate of sixty degrees or less. For sound insulation, a plurality of slots are further provided which extend from the back into the matrix.

FR 2 278 876 describes a connecting device for connecting tiles or sheets of rubber or plastic for a variety of applications. The plates are provided on each of two opposite sides with corresponding mechanical locking elements in order to be able to lock adjoining plates to one another. The locking elements are designed so that they must fit without recesses in each other, so that no gap between two adjacent plates occurs at the tread. A sound insulation is not addressed.

DE 33 39 701 describes a sound-absorbing and sound-absorbing panel for forming or covering walls and ceilings. The plate consists of a hardened Mixture of fibers and binder and has at its the sound source facing surface on a plurality of holes. The holes are at an acute angle to the surface of the plate. Such plates, whose holes of the sound source, ie the inside of the room in which they are used, are facing, on the one hand designed for a room sound insulation and on the other hand completely unsuitable for floors, since their openings would clog up immediately with dirt. This affects both the appearance and its effect as a sound conductor breaker.

U.S. 5,879,781 describes a floor material with sound reducing properties. The floor panel, in the form of a laminate, has a core made of wood material into which a large number of holes have been made from the bottom side, which are distributed over the entire floor area. The holes are covered by a back cover layer and may optionally be filled with materials with high sound damping properties such as rubber, cork, foam or felt. The floor laminate includes locking means which in turn are designed so that no gap can form on the bottom side when adjacent laminate panels are correctly connected to each other.

One from the EP 1 264 946 Known floor panel contains a sound insulation in the form of at least one sound insulation layer, which is arranged on the side facing the side of the kick of the core. The sound insulation layer consists of a thin, soft, resilient material, in particular of plastic and must be incorporated in the manufacture of the floor panel in the laminate, which is relatively expensive.

The WO 99/00242 shows a floor panel in rectangular shape, which contains a core of solid wood and two arranged on the top and bottom of the core, thinner plates, also made of solid wood. The floor panel is sound-insulated, wherein in a first embodiment, sound insulation layers between the core and the core on both sides covering plates, with the disadvantages already described, are interposed.

In a further embodiment, those sides of the core which face the adjacent, thinner plates are provided with grooves, by means of which the contact surface of wood to wood is reduced, which is intended to effect sound insulation. As a result, however, the force-transmitting surface between the layers of wood is reduced, which can lead to flattening of lying between the grooves peaks in floor areas in extreme cases, which are committed particularly strong, so that there slightly lowers the floor.

Furthermore, longitudinally extending grooves are incorporated in the core, alternately from the top and the bottom, with the grooves extending into this core to over half the thickness of the core. Through these grooves, the swelling and shrinkage of the wood to be compensated for changes in humidity, so that the so-called working of the wood does not lead to dislocations in the floor covering. However, these grooves do not extend to the bottom, but are covered by the thinner wood panels, which act as sound bridges. In addition, the described solid wood floor panels are designed for gluing, wherein the glue layers which extend between the panels also have a sound-damping effect, so that lower requirements must be imposed on additional sound insulation.

Finally, it is common practice to introduce sound-absorbing layers of (needle) felt, plastic, rubber or the like. When laying under the panels or in the manufacture optionally with the panels to glue, which is quite complex.

WO 03/087498 describes a floor covering according to the preamble of claims 1 and 2.

The invention is therefore an object of the invention to provide a floor panel with a simple to produce and effective impact sound insulation.

The object is solved by the features specified in claims 1 and 2.

It has been found that it is surprisingly possible, with a single or a series of successive, extending from the bottom to the core reaching recesses in conjunction with a recess formed by the locking itself effective footfall sound insulation, namely for floor panels with mechanical locking systems, ie without glue layer between the panels. In practical experiments, a significant reduction in impact sound was detected by, for example, 3dB.

Advantageous developments of the invention can be found in the dependent claims.

Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of a first embodiment of a floor panel 1 according to the invention, which has a tread side 2 and a in Fig. 1 concealed bottom 3, which serves as a support surface on a floor surface, and arranged between the bottom 3 and the tread side 2 core 4.

The floor panel 1 shown is part of a laminate floor, wherein the tread surface 2 is formed by a laminate layer that is resistant to tread, damage and contamination insensitive and decorative. The core 4 consists of an industrially produced wood fiber material, namely an MDF / HDF board. The underside 3 is the underside of the core 4 made of the material of the core or may be formed by a protective or leveling layer (not shown here) laminated to the core.

The floor panel 1 shown here has a rectangular shape and is relatively small, wherein the width B between 5 cm to 15 cm, preferably 8 cm, and the length L between 20 cm and 80 cm, preferably 60 cm. The floor panel thus has two opposite long sides 5a and 5b and two opposite short sides 6a and 6b, respectively. At least the long sides 5a, 5b are corresponding, mechanical locking elements 7a and 7b, with which adjacent floor panels can be locked via a snap-in connection. The locking element 7a contains for this purpose a bar 8 with a protruding nose 8a, which is bounded by a groove 9 inwards. The locking member 7b includes a recess 10 for receiving the strip 8 with an undercut 10a for receiving the nose 8a, which is bounded outwardly by a bar 11 which can be received in the groove 9. In this way, adjacent floor panels with their long sides be locked together via a snap or locking connection, wherein it is only necessary to set the two panels with their long sides at an angle to each other so that the nose 8a dips into the recess 10, and then the two panels in alignment and just together to align, causing the nose 8a moves into the undercut 10a. In this case, the locking elements 7a, 7b in their dimensions, in particular their width b, so matched to one another that the two panels parallel to the short sides 6a can not move against each other.

In the illustrated embodiment, the two short sides 6a, 6b are provided with corresponding locking elements 12a, 12b, wherein the locking element 12a corresponds to the locking element 7b and the locking element 12b analogous to the locking element 7a corresponds, but does not have the nose, so that the panels with their short Pages can be connected by simply pressing down, which facilitates the installation.

The connection via the locking elements 7a, 7b and 12a, 12b requires no glue application.

The floor panel 1 according to the invention is provided with an easily produced and yet effective sound insulation, especially against impact sound, which is provided in the form of at least one recess 13 which extends from the bottom 3 in the panel, the bottom 3 outside the recess 13 flat and is flat. The sound insulation is effected in the illustrated embodiment by a single recess 13 which extends in the form of a groove from a short side 6a continuously to the second short side 6b. The recess 13 has a depth t, which is dimensioned so that the recess 13 extends from the bottom 3 to over a third to half of the thickness D of the core 4 in this hineinerstreckt. The recess 13 is open to the bottom 3 and should remain so. At best, it is possible to apply a thin layer, which does not form a sound bridge, to the underside 3 in such a way that the recess 13 is covered. However, the recess 13 should definitely not lose its sound-wave interrupting function.

The recess 13 has a width s between 1 and 10 mm and extends approximately in the middle between the long sides 5a, 5b, parallel to them and into the region of the locking elements 12a, 12b of the short sides 6a, 6b. In this case, from the outer strip of the locking element 12a a small connecting web 14 remain standing, which improves the cohesion.

Fig. 4 shows a part of a floor covering 15, which consists of a plurality of floor panels 1 according to the Fig. 1 to 3 was produced. Fig. 4 shows the bottom of the floor covering 15 and a parallel and offset by half each arrangement of the floor panels 1, in the form of a regular ship's floor bandage. As Fig. 4 it can be seen, the locking elements 7a, 7b and 12a, 12b adjacent floor panels are formed so that form on the bottom of the floor covering between adjacent panels grooves 16 between the long sides and grooves 17 between the short sides, while the tread sides 2 adjacent panels almost seamlessly abut each other. In this way, at a width B of the floor panels 1 of 8 cm of all 4 cm longitudinally continuous grooves 13, 16 are formed, which provide an effective impact sound insulation. In addition, the grooves 17 serve between adjacent short sides of the impact sound insulation.

Fig. 5 shows a further embodiment of a floor covering 18 from a further embodiment of inventively embodied floor panels 1 'in herringbone composite, again with a view of the lower sides. 3

The floor panel 1 'differs from the floor panel 1 only by a different type of recess, in which case a plurality of individual, slot-shaped recesses 19 are provided in series one behind the other. Otherwise, the embodiment of the floor panel 1 'corresponds to the floor panel 1, wherein in particular the row arrangement of the recesses 19 is also arranged centrally and parallel between the long sides 5a and 5b and extends from a short side 6a to the opposite short side 6b. Even with the herringbone arrangement of the floor covering 18, grooves 20 form the impact sound insulation between the long and short sides.

The invention is defined by the claims. Hereinafter, embodiments will be described which do not fall within the scope of the claims.

In a modification of the described and illustrated embodiments, the recesses in their shape, size (depth, width, length), arrangement and number can be varied. For example, for larger floor panels, two or more continuous recesses may be provided, or a plurality of recesses may be distributed in rows, in a diamond shape, or in another arrangement over the undersides. The recesses do not necessarily have to be parallel to the long sides, but can also be arranged along the short sides or randomly. The recesses do not necessarily have to be in the form of grooves, but can be designed, for example, as notches, blind holes, cuts or the like. The floor panels need not necessarily be provided on all four sides with locking elements, especially in a ship floor laying, for example, it may be sufficient to provide only the long sides with these locking elements. The shape and operation of the locking elements can also be changed. Thus, the invention can be used in floor panels with all common locking systems or to be glued floor panels. The invention is also applicable to floor panels of other shapes and dimensions, including standard or standard 120 x 20 cm panels or mitered panels, square or hexagonal or the like. Also, the material selection for the floor panel can be adapted to changing uses. Finally, all embodiments of the floor panels are suitable for all common installation patterns.
