Abstract
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Klebeband insbesondere zum Zusammenfügen von mindestens zwei Gegenständen oder Schließen und Sichern einer Verpackung. Das Klebeband besteht aus einem Trägerband, das mindestens auf einer Seite mit einem Haftkleber beschichtet ist. Das Klebeband weist eine dauerelastische Dehnbarkeit von 5 bis 50 % auf und an mindestens einer seiner Längskanten sind eine Vielzahl von Einkerbungen angeordnet, die ein Durchtrennen des Klebebandes ohne Anwendung eines Werkzeugs ermöglichen.
Description
Klebeband
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Klebeband insbesondere zum Zusammenfügen von mindestens zwei Gegenständen oder Schließen und Sichern einer Verpackung, bestehend aus einem Trägerband, das mindestens auf einer Seite mit einem Haftkleber beschichtet ist.
Die auf mindestens einer Seite aufgebrachte Haftkleberbeschichtung kann vollflächig sein. Es ist aber auch möglich, dass nur eine partielle Beschichtung vorliegt. Beispielsweise kann die Beschichtung mit Haftkleber streifenförmig oder punktförmig aufgebracht sein. Hierdurch kann der Klebstoffverbrauch reduziert werden. Wesentlich ist es aber, dass ein zum zuverlässigen Fixieren des Klebebandes ausreichender Flächenanteil mit Haftkleber beschichtet ist.
Ein dehnbares Kunststoffband, das wenigstens einen Bereich mit einem Haftkleber aufweist, ist aus der europäischen Patentschrift EP 0 680 440 B1 bekannt. Bei diesem bekannten Klebeband bedeckt der Haftkleber nicht die gesamte Länge des Kunststoffbandes. Die Dehnbarkeit in der Längsrichtung des Klebebandes beträgt wenigstens 150 %, und das Band weist eine Elastizität von weniger als 30 % Rück¬ stellung auf. Das Klebeband wird zum Bündeln und/oder Fixieren von Gegenständen verwendet.
Es ist Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung, ein Klebeband anzugeben, das zu einer Verbesserung beim Bündeln von Gegenständen und beim Schließen oder Sichern einer Verpackung führt. Um seine Anwendung zu erleichtern, soll das Band zugleich ohne Anwendung einer Schere oder eines Messers an der gewünschten Stelle durchtrennt werden können.
Diese Aufgabe wird bei einem Klebeband der eingangs genannten Art dadurch gelöst, dass das Klebeband eine dauerelastische Dehnbarkeit von 5 bis 50 % aufweist und an mindestens einer seiner Längskanten eine Vielzahl von Einkerbungen aufweist, die ein Durchtrennen des Klebebandes ohne Anwendung
eines Werkzeugs ermöglichen. Die prozentuale Dehnbarkeit wird auf die Ausgangslänge des unbelasteten Klebebandes bezogen.
Einkerbungen an den Längskanten eines Klebebandes sind an sich bekannt. Sie ermöglichen ein problemloses Abreißen des Klebebandes. Solche Einkerbungen sind bisher jedoch nur bei unelastischen Klebebändern eingesetzt worden. Es war nämlich zu erwarten, dass das Abreißen bei einem elastischen Klebeband aufgrund der Dehnbarkeit des Materials problematisch sein würde. Überraschenderweise wurde gefunden, dass bei einer dauerelastischen Dehnbarkeit von 5 bis 50 % das Klebeband eine ausreichende Elastizität aufweist und es dennoch aufgrund der an den Längskanten vorhandenen Einkerbungen ohne Werkzeug abgetrennt werden kann.
Vorteilhaft weist das Klebeband eine dauerelastische Dehnbarkeit von 10 bis 25 % auf.
Weiterhin weist das Trägerband vorteilhaft eine Rückstellung von 60 - 100 %, bevorzugt 80 - 95 % auf. Unter Rückstellung ist die Verkürzung des Klebebandes nach Beendigung einer Dehnung zu verstehen. Das Ausmaß der Rückstellung wird auf die durch die Dehnung bewirkte Verlängerung bezogen und in Prozent angegeben. Ein Klebeband, das nach der Dehnung wieder seine ursprüngliche Länge aufweist, hat also eine Rückstellung von 100 %. Eine Rückstellung von 60 % bedeutet, dass nach der Dehnung 40 % der zusätzlichen Länge als permanente Verlängerung des Klebebandes erhalten bleiben.
Das Material des Trägerbandes kann aus einer Vielzahl von polymeren Materialien ausgewählt werden. Als Beispiele seien genannt Polyolefine, wie Polyethylen, einschließlich HDPE (Polyethylen hoher Dichte), Polyethylen niedriger Dichte, lineares Polyethylen niedriger Dichte und lineares Polyethylen sehr niedriger Dichte, Polypropylen und Polybutylen, Vinyl-Copolymere, wie weichgemachtes und nichtweichgemachtes Poly(vinylchlorid) und Poly(vinylacetat); olefinische Copolymere, wie Ethylen/Methacrylat-Copolymere, Ethylen/Vinylacetat-Copolymere, Acrylnitril-Butadien-Styrol-Copolymere und Ethylen/Propylen-Copolymere; acrylische Polymere und Copolymere und Kombinationen dieser Materialien. Mischungen und
Blends von Kunststoffen oder von Kunststoff- und Elastomer-Materialien, wie Polypropylen/Polyethylen, Polyurethan/Polyolefin, Polyurethan/Polycarbonat und Polyurethan/Polyester kann auch verwendet werden.
Das Trägerband kann auch als Gewebeband oder als Vliesband ausgebildet sein.
Bei dem erfindungsgemäßen Klebeband wird eine vollständige Rückstellung nach einer Dehnung angestrebt. Vorteilhaft besteht daher das Trägerband aus einem gummielastischen Material. Besonders bevorzugt wird ein thermoplastisches Elastomer, insbesondere ein Material, das ausgewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Polyestern, Polyurethanen, Styrolcopolymeren und Polyolefinen.
Der auf dem Trägerband angeordnete Haftkleber wird vorteilhaft ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Polyestern, Polyurethanen, Styrolcopolymeren und Polyolefinen.
Die Klebstoffe auf Basis von Acrylaten können nicht wasserlöslich oder wasserlöslich sein, es kann sich z. B. um Copolymere von Isooctylacrylat und Acrylsäure handeln. Als Synthesekautschuk kommen z. B. Polyisoprene, Polybutadien, Styrol-Isopren- Styrol- und Styrol-Butadien-Styrol-Blockcopolymere und andere Elastomere in Frage. Die Klebstoffe können in Form von Dispersionen vorliegen.
Vorteilhaft ist die Klebebeschichtung mit einem Flächengewicht von 40 bis 200 g/m2, vorzugsweise von 70 bis 130 g/m2 auf das Trägerband aufgetragen.
Die an mindestens einer Längskante angeordneten Einkerbungen sind vorteilhaft dreieckig oder halbkreisförmig ausgebildet. Um ein Durchtrennen des Bandes an einer beliebigen Stelle zu ermöglichen, sind die Einkerbungen in geringem Abstand voneinander angeordnet, vorzugsweise ohne Zwischenräume unmittelbar benachbart.
Die Dicke des Trägerbandes variiert entsprechend dem Anwendungsgebiet. Für manuelle Anwendungsgebiete, d. h. für Zwecke des täglichen Bedarfs, wird eine Dicke des Trägerbandes von 10 bis 250 μm bevorzugt.
Die Dicke der Klebstoffschicht kann im Bereich von 5 μm bis 1000 μm variieren. Vorzugsweise wird eine Schichtdicke von 20 μm bis 250 μm verwendet. Das Klebeband wird bevorzugt zu einer Rolle aufgerollt, von der der Verbraucher Stücke in beliebiger Länge abrollen und abreißen kann.
Das elastische Trägerband und die Klebebeschichtung werden derart auf einander abgestimmt, dass der Träger einschließlich der Klebebeschichtung quer zu seiner Längsrichtung von Hand eingerissen werden kann.
Das erfindungsgemäße Klebeband erlaubt das Zusammenbinden der verschieden¬ artigsten Gegenstände. So können z. B. alltägliche, in Supermärkten in loser Form angebotene Gegenstände, wie Flaschen, Dosen, Pappschachteln zusammenge¬ bunden und auf sehr einfache Weise weggetragen werden. Dies kann sowohl durch den Kunden als auch durch den Händler erfolgen, der bereits in seinem Angebot eine bestimmte Anzahl dieser Gegenstände zusammenbindet und sie als Einheit anbietet, wie z. B. mehrere Getränkedosen und Flaschen in zusammengebundener Form.
Das Trägerband weist eine lösemittelfreie oder lösemittelhaltige Haftklebemasse auf, welche z. B. durch Coextrusion, Schmelzbeschichtung oder Dispersionsbeschichtung erzeugt wird, wobei diese Klebemasse vermittels einer Flamm- oder Corona- vorbehandlung oder einer Haftvermittlerschicht, welche durch Coextrusion oder Beschichtung aufgebracht wird, mit der Oberfläche des Trägermaterials verbunden ist. Es ist auch möglich, eine Zwischenfolie als sogenannten Release Liner einzusetzen.
Im folgenden wird die Erfindung anhand eines Ausführungsbeispiels näher erläutert.
Beispiel:
Als Trägermaterial wurde eine Naturlatexfolie (Naturlatexqualität 24-005 NR, OP- Latex-Einsatz der Firma Wolff, Mörlenbach) ausgewählt. Über eine labormäßige Rakelvorrichtung (Spiralrakel 50) wurde eine wasserbasierte Acrylatdispersion (Acronal V 212 / BASF) aufgetragen auf eine Fläche von 20 cm Breite und 30 cm Länge.
Nach der Durchtrocknung der Dispersion (offene Abtrocknung bei 24 °C, ca. 65 % Luftfeuchtigkeit, 24 Std. Trocknungszeit) ergab sich ein durchgehender Haftklebefilm.
Die Hafteigenschaften des Haftklebefilms auf dem Latexträger blieben erhalten, auch nach 100 %iger Dehnung des Trägermaterials (Naturlatexfolie). Eine Ablösungen des Haftklebefilms vom Trägermaterial (Naturlatexfolie) wurden nicht beobachtet.

Klebeband insbesondere zum Zusammenfügen von mindestens zwei Gegenständen oder Schließen und Sichern einer Verpackung, bestehend aus einem Trägerband, das mindestens auf einer Seite mit einem Haftkleber beschichtet ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Klebeband eine dauerelastische Dehnbarkeit von 5 bis 50 % aufweist und an mindestens einer seiner Längskanten eine Vielzahl von Einkerbungen aufweist, die ein Durchtrennen des Klebebandes ohne Anwendung eines Werkzeugs ermöglichen.
2. Klebeband nach Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die dauerelastische Dehnbarkeit 10 bis 25 % beträgt.
3. Klebeband nach Anspruch "loder 2, gekennzeichnet durch eine Rückstellung von 60 bis 100 %.
4. Klebeband nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Trägerband aus einem gummielastischen Material besteht.
5. Klebeband nach Anspruch 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Trägerband aus einem thermoplastischen Elastomer besteht.
6. Klebeband nach Anspruch 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Material des Trägerbandes ausgewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Polyestern,
Polyurethanen, Styrolcopolymeren und Polyolefinen.
7. Klebeband nach Anspruch 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Haftkleber ausgewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Acrylaten, Kautschuk, Synthesekautschuk, Polyurethanen und Siliconen.
8. Klebeband nach Anspruch 1 bis 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Klebe- beschichtung mit einem Flächengewicht von 40 bis 200 g/m2 auf das Trägerband aufgetragen ist.
9. Klebeband nach Anspruch 1 bis 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Einkerbungen dreieckig ausgebildet sind.
10. Klebeband nach Anspruch 1 bis 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Ein¬ kerbungen halbkreisförmig ausgebildet sind.
