The unit has a bearing pad contacting with a front wall (18). The surface has a support zone (36) and friction zone (38) of the wall (18), and a front wall (40) and an upper wall (42) of the skirt. The gripping surface has asperities to attenuate visibility of degradations of the surface caused by the gripping unit.
