Description

The present invention relates to the field of fastening or closing profiles.

Such fastening or closing profiles are used in various fields and in particular in the field of the display or manufacture of covers for the protection of objects, or more generally in the field of manufacturing. packing bags.

Particularly in the field of the display, advertising support films folded on themselves in a closed loop are frequently used and thus connected, at their ends made adjacent, by the aforementioned elements or fastening profiles. These films are generally driven to move next to a window to change the range of information thus made visible.

In the field of packaging bags, it is known to equip films at the mouth of sachets of closure profiles allowing, by their separation, the opening of the sachets and free access to their contents while allowing a subsequent reclosing.

The elements or sections of attachment or closure can be subject to many embodiments. It may be complementary hooks, complementary male / female structures or velvet type systems or loops / hooks, or any equivalent system.

Such fastening or closing profiles are generally packaged in the form of a strip wound on a support mandrel. One of the problems in industrial use is the connection between the end of such a supply and the beginning of a subsequent supply to supply a production machine.

So far, the traditional technique of connection between two reserves of fastening or closing profiles is to connect the ends of two profiles with a tape adhesive. This technique is however difficult to achieve. Indeed, to allow a correct engagement on the operating machine, it is necessary to obtain a perfect alignment between the two profiles. Moreover, the self-adhesive tape should not hinder scrolling. It is therefore often necessary to retouch the adhesive tape with cuts before authorizing the transport.

The means thus known do not give total satisfaction.

It will be noted, moreover, that the aforementioned known technique often leads to a low tensile strength.

The document FR-A-2036112 discloses a method for producing slide fasteners in the form of lengths of a continuous spiral-type slider closure chain. The method described consists in detaching a succession of zipper lengths from the continuous chain by transverse cutting lines passing through the ribbons and spirals. The method comprises a step of heating the plastic spirals in order to preserve the convolutions and to prevent the plastic spirals from loosening or detaching. The zippers obtained by this method are provided with usual extensions at their longitudinal ends.

It is now an object of the present invention to provide novel means having improved properties over the state of the art.

This object is achieved in the context of the present invention, by means of a method of connecting two sets of closure or fastening profiles, which comprises the steps of:
  • cutting the respective ends of the two sets so that each of them has two elements whose extreme edges are offset relatively in the longitudinal direction,
  • engaging the ends of these two sets in a guide comprising respective alignment means of the two sets while leaving access to at least a portion of the superimposed areas of the two sets, and
  • connect by welding the adjacent ends of the two sets thus positioned.

The present invention also relates to a guide for implementing the above method, comprising respective alignment means of the two sets while leaving access to at least a portion of the superimposed areas of the two sets.

According to a preferred embodiment, the aforementioned guide comprises on the one hand, a longitudinal groove adapted to receive in mutual alignment position the attachment means or closure of said profiles and on the other hand, blades flanking the groove and adapted to take a position between support sails of said sets.

On aperçoit sur la figure 1 annexée, un guide formé d'une plaque rectiligne monobloc allongée 10.We can see on the figure 1 attached, a guide formed of an elongate monobloc rectilinear plate 10.

Typiquement, la plaque a une longueur de l'ordre de 10 à 15cm et une largeur de l'ordre de 1 à 2cm.Typically, the plate has a length of the order of 10 to 15 cm and a width of the order of 1 to 2 cm.

According to the embodiment shown on the figure 1 , the plate 10 is provided, in the vicinity of one of these ends of a hole or eyelet 12 through to facilitate its handling and / or storage by hanging on a support. However, such an orifice 12 does not intervene directly in the connection process according to the present invention.

As indicated above, the plate 10 defines on the one hand, a longitudinal groove 20 adapted to receive in the mutual alignment position the fastening or closing means 112, 122 of the profiles 110, 120 to be connected and on the other hand, blades 30, 32 flanking this groove 20 and adapted to take position between support webs 114, 124 of said sets.

Such a groove 20 and such blades 30, 32 may be subject to many embodiments.

In practice, as illustrated on the figure 1 these means are made by means of a longitudinal cut, the plate 10 opening on the longitudinal end thereof opposite to the eyelet 12.

More precisely still, according to the preferred embodiment illustrated on the figure 1 , the groove 20 is formed by a longitudinal rectilinear slot formed halfway in the plate 10. The width of this slot forming the groove 20 is complementary to the width of the closure means 112, 122. It is typically of the order of a few mm. The two blades 30, 32 are formed on either side of the groove 20. The slot forming the groove 20 opens on the longitudinal end of the plate 10 opposite the eyelet 12 in the form of a flared cutout dihedron concave delimited by two straight edges in V 31, 33 forming bevels at the end of the blades 30, 32.

As those skilled in the art will understand, this flared cutout is intended to facilitate the engagement of closure profiles.

At its other end, directed towards the center of the plate 10, the slot forming the groove 20 opens into an oblong slot 40 whose largest extension extends transversely with respect to the longitudinal axis of the plate 10. This oblong slot 40 is intended to receive one of the sets. For this purpose, the length of the light 40 oriented transversely to the longitudinal axis of the plate 10 is preferably at least equal to the width of the webs 114, 124 of the closure assemblies.

Typiquement, la lumière oblongue 40 a une longueur (transverse à l'axe longitudinal de la plaque 10) de l'ordre de 10 à 15mm, tandis que la largeur (parallèle à l'axe longitudinal de la plaque 10) est de l'ordre de 5mm.Typically, the oblong slot 40 has a length (transverse to the longitudinal axis of the plate 10) of the order of 10 to 15 mm, while the width (parallel to the longitudinal axis of the plate 10) is from order of 5mm.

The plate 10 can be made of any suitable material, for example metal or thermoplastic materials.

The connection method according to the present invention will now be described.

As shown on the figure 2 the first step is to cut the ends of the two sets to be connected so that each of them has two elements whose respective ends are offset relatively in the longitudinal direction.

The longitudinal gap between the ends of these two elements is typically of the order of 1 to 5 cm.

In the case of closure profiles male / female type, preferably for a first set the longer element is a female element, while for the second set, the element of greater length is of complementary male type.

On the figure 2 , arbitrarily, the element whose web is referenced 114 has a length greater than the element whose web is referenced 124.

As illustrated on figures 3 and 4 , the subsequent steps are to engage the two sets on the guide 10. As illustrated on the figure 3 one of the assemblies is engaged by the end of the groove 20 adjacent to the light 40. For this, for example, the veil 114a of great length is engaged in the lumen 40 and then slid into the position underlying the blades 30 32 while the web 124a of shorter length is positioned above them.

The closure means 112a, 122a of these elements are placed in the groove 20.

The second set is engaged on the guide 10 by the longitudinal end thereof. The second set is inverted with respect to the first. That is to say, if for the first assembly the veil 114a of great length is slid in the position underlying the blades 30, 32, conversely for the second set the veil 114b of great length is placed above those ci, while the veil 124b of shorter length is placed in position underlying the blades 30, 32.

Une fois les deux ensembles 100a, 100b rapprochés en position adjacentes par leurs extrémités, les deux voiles de grande longueur étant en partie superposés, il suffit comme illustré sur la figure 5 de procéder à une soudure des deux ensembles 100a, 100b pour relier ceux-ci.Once the two sets 100a, 100b close together in their adjacent position by their ends, the two long sails being partly superimposed, it is sufficient as illustrated on the figure 5 to weld the two sets 100a, 100b to connect them.

It is preferably a spot welding 50 typically using a hot tip 60 and moreover at the closing means 114, 124 at the groove 20. In this case, the groove 20 prevents overflow of the weld.

Alternatively, the weld can be automated with a bar and spikes.

According to yet another variant, as illustrated on the figure 6 , the sets can be fixed by ultrasonic welding at the groove 20.

The welding zone preferably relates to the superposed parts of the two sets. It may, however, also extend in part on each of these two sets beyond the aforementioned superimposed zones.

According to yet another alternative embodiment, it may be envisaged to also weld together the adjacent transverse ends of the two assemblies to prevent them from being hooked up during the subsequent scrolling of the sections.

It is then sufficient to allow the assembly to cool and remove the guide by elastic deformation of the webs 114, 124 to have a continuous strip of profiles.

The method according to the present invention provides an assembly having a tensile strength superior to the state of the art.

The fastening or closing profiles, which may be used in the context of the present invention, may be the subject of any appropriate variant. It is advantageously of profiles in thermoplastic materials, for example polypropylene. On the Figures 8 and 9 attached, there is shown sets 100 comprising two elements 110, 120 respectively comprising closure means or attachment 112, 122 carried by webs 114, 124.

Their configuration can be the subject of various embodiments.

We have shown on Figures 8 and 9 , two non-limiting preferred embodiments.
