Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for setting a banknote processing machine, in which threshold values are determined by sensors for the detection of the state of banknotes.
- the disadvantage of known methods lies in the fact that it is very complicated and expensive for the operator to set suitable threshold values for the sensors of the banknote processing machine. In this case, for example, by the manufacturer of the banknote processing machine ready predetermined threshold values, which are rigidly predefined, are assumed. Problems arise z. As by aging or contamination of the banknote processing machine or by changes in the banknotes to be processed. Even if one or more of the threshold values are set only too small by the operator, banknotes which are no longer suitable for circulation are classified as fit by the banknote processing machine. However, if one or more of the thresholds are set to be too small by the operator, banknotes which are actually suitable for circulation will be rejected the banknote processing machine classified as no longer fit. Thus, the banknotes to be processed are not separated into executable and unfit banknotes in the manner desired by the operator.
- the DE 102 31 409 A1 proposes to solve these problems, for the determination of the thresholds of sensors for detecting the state of banknotes to select at least one convertible banknote and at least one unfit bill, to process the selected banknotes by means of the bank-note processing machine, data of at least one sensor are stored and to establish at least one threshold for the at least one sensor by evaluating the stored data of the at least one sensor.
- the operator may set a rate for the banknotes classified as unfit, e.g. In percent, indicates. For example, if the operator specifies that 10% of all banknotes are to be considered unfit, a corresponding value is entered by the operator and a certain amount of selected banknotes are entered into the banknote processing machine. The controller then sets the thresholds by analyzing all banknotes entered, e.g. B. how strong is the pollution and / or damage, etc. of the individual banknotes. Based on this analysis, the 10% of the inserted banknotes are used to establish the thresholds that have the highest level of soiling and / or damage, etc.
- a rate for the banknotes classified as unfit e.g. In percent, indicates. For example, if the operator specifies that 10% of all banknotes are to be considered unfit, a corresponding value is entered by the operator and a certain amount of selected banknotes are entered into the banknote processing machine. The controller then sets the thresholds by analyzing all banknotes entered, e.
- the invention is based on a method for setting a bank-note processing machine, in which threshold values are determined by sensors for the detection of the state of banknotes, wherein a number of banknotes is processed by means of the bank-note processing machine and data of at least one sensor are stored, the state the banknotes are recognized by means of the stored data and at least one threshold value, determining and displaying an effect of the at least one threshold on the recognized state of the banknotes; at least one threshold is changed based on the indicated impact, and at least the state and impact of the changed threshold are redetermined and the effect is re-displayed.
- the invention makes it possible, by determining and indicating the effect of the thresholds on the recognized state of the banknotes, to set the threshold values by means of a number of banknotes so that the recognition of the state of the banknotes has desired properties.
- Any banknotes can be used to set the thresholds; H.
- a painstaking selection of banknotes with certain characteristics regarding their condition is not absolutely necessary.
- FIG. 1 a banknote processing machine 1 is shown, which has an input tray 20, in which to be processed banknotes 10 can be inserted, ie banknotes, which should be separated according to their state into fit and unfit banknotes.
- the banknotes 10 are, one after the other, individually detected by a separator 25 and transferred to a transport system 30.
- the transport system 30 transports the individual banknotes through a measuring device 41.
- the measuring device 41 contains at least one sensor, the signal of which allows a conclusion about the state of the respective banknote in order to be able to make an assessment and classification of the banknote as fit or unfit for circulation.
- the sensor (s) of the measuring device 41 may be, for example, optical sensors and suitable light sources, the sensors detecting light reflected by the respective banknote or transmitted by the respective banknote, eg. B. light of a particular wavelength or a specific wavelength range. Further sensors may, for example, evaluate acoustic and / or mechanical and / or thermal and / or magnetic and / or electrical and / or chemical properties etc. of the respective banknote.
- the sensors mentioned statements about the state are possible, for. B. whether the respective banknote is dirty or damaged, or whether it has foreign bodies such as staples or adhesive strips, which affect the fitness for circulation of the respective banknote.
- the z. B. can be formed by a microprocessor with associated memory, whether it is in the respective banknote to a fit or a non-fit banknote.
- the control device 40 compares the signals provided by the measuring device 41 with predetermined threshold values, which, for. B. are stored in the memory of the controller 40.
- control device 40 controls points 31 and 33 in the transport system 30 in order to deposit, for example, revocable banknotes in a first output compartment 32 and unfit banknotes in a second output compartment 34. Further switches or output trays, shredders etc. can be provided in the transport system 30 of the bank-note processing machine 1 and are indicated by a continuation 35.
- the z. B. may consist of a keyboard and a display is used for the operation of the bank-note processing machine 1 by an operator. In doing so, commands can be entered via the keyboard or machining modes can be selected, and by means of the display, machining results can be displayed or the operator can by means of instructions be prompted to take certain actions.
- the operator selects any amount of banknotes. This may include banknotes that are judged unfit, d. H. these notes have abnormalities such as soiling, damage, staples, tape, etc. Likewise, banknotes may be included which are considered fit for circulation, d. H. these notes have z. B. at most a little pollution and / or damage, which is not bothersome. However, the amount of banknotes can be composed of any banknotes without these having to be selected or classified in advance by the user in terms of their state.
- the operator selects an operating mode of the bank-note processing machine 1 in which the one or more thresholds for the determination of the state of banknotes can be determined.
- controlled by the control device 40 the operator is then prompted by the input / output device 45, for example, to insert the banknotes into the input compartment 20.
- the banknotes are detected individually by the separator 25 and transferred to the transport system 30.
- the measuring device 41 or the sensor (s) contained in it, determines representative signals for the respective banknote, which signals are transmitted to the control device 40.
- the data of the signals of the measuring device 41 can be stored in the memory of the control device 40 in unmodified form. It is also possible that the signals of the measuring device 41 are processed by the control device 40, wherein the data of the at Processing results obtained.
- the processed banknotes are, under the control of the control unit 40, transported by the transport system 30, for example, in the output compartments 32, 34. In this case, a distinction can be made in convertible and unfit banknotes, but the banknotes can also all be transported to one of the output compartments 32, 34.
- At least one threshold value is stored in the memory of the control device 40, the z. B. has been set in the manufacture of the banknote processing machine 1.
- individual banknotes currency and denomination
- each type of banknotes has special characteristics, which are generally very different from banknotes of another sort differ.
- threshold should not only be understood to mean a value permanently predetermined for one or more of the sensors of the measuring device 41. - individual values 54 for the threshold values 52 influence the evaluation or evaluation of different bank notes 60, ie which area areas 61a of the bank notes 60, Depending on the threshold 52, are taken into account in the assessment.
- FIG. 4a It can be seen that the surface areas 61a of the banknote 60, in the example shown a banknote denomination 20, for the threshold 52 of ATMs suitable for cash dispensers (ATM) has a smaller size 62a than that in FIG. 4b illustrated area area 61b for bankable (Fit) threshold 62b.
- the different size of the area areas 61a, 61b considered in the assessment on the banknote 60 results from the different quality requirements for banknotes which are suitable for ATMs and / or money circulation. Since higher quality requirements apply to banknotes which are suitable for ATMs, the considered surface areas 61a of the banknote 60 are also smaller, because already in the presence of dog-ears with the size indicated by the surface area 61a, the quality required by the value indication 54 of the threshold value 52 is no longer present. Because of the less stringent quality requirements for banknotes suitable for circulation, the area 61b is correspondingly larger in this case.
- the control device 40 For setting the threshold values 52, based on the predetermined threshold values 52 and the above-described processing of the banknotes 10 and the described processing of the results by means of the control device 40 and the display of the input / output device 45, a change of one or more of the thresholds 52 is made .
- the control device 40 again carries out a processing of the banknotes 10 and the changes in the assessments of the state of the banknotes 10 caused thereby are indicated, for For example, by changing the histograms 51 or percentages 50.
- a renewed physical processing of the banknotes 10 by the banknote processing machine 1 can be dispensed with since the data from the sensors of the measuring device 41 were stored in the memory of the control device 40 during the first processing , But it is also possible to perform the physical processing again.
- the alteration of one or more thresholds 52 may be performed for one or more of the condition-affecting characteristics 61-63 and may be repeated until a desired result is achieved.
- the change of the threshold values 52 can be achieved by entering numerical values for the value indications 54, z. B. by means of the keyboard of the input / output device 45 are made.
- the elements of the display designed as sliders 53 can be shifted in order to change the threshold values 52. This can be done by the ad the input / output device 45 z. B. be configured as a touch-sensitive display.
- Another option is to move the SW ATM, SW Fit and SW Unfit thresholds shown as lines to the in FIG. 3 represented statistical distribution.
- banknotes bad state and banknotes good state can be selected and used for the setting or targeted banknotes with a certain state or certain state properties, eg. B. dog-ears, a random amount of banknotes are added.

Description
B. in Prozent, angibt.

- Figur 4
- einen Ausschnitt der Anzeige aus
Figur 2 . - In
- In
- In
