- the long length of the sides of the chimney imposes a thick chimney liner to withstand the large bending produced by the pressure of the gases, and therefore a significant weight.
- the invention relates to a missile launcher perfecting the oldest design in a manner different from that disclosed in the aforementioned patent. Unlike previous designs where the cells were arranged in rows along the chimney, they extend here around it, in a regular circle or polygon. This arrangement of the cells allows a significant reduction of the launcher, and especially a significant gain in mass correlated to greater strength of the structure, including when it is integrated into a marine vessel like a surface vessel, for the reasons that will be given later in this description.

Unlike what was the case with the rectangular chimney, the chimney sheath 26 can extend close to the missile sheaths 24 since it remains at a distance the nearest amounts 22 thanks to its circular shape. The evacuation of gases is facilitated by the largest diameter that can be attributed to it.
- the presence of a convergent inside the ceiling of the plenum 19 is still possible and reduces the pressure losses and the pressure of the gases exerted in the chimney 13 and the lower plenum 19.
- the convergent 34 appears in FIG. 8 and consists in widening the chimney 13 downwards in the base plate 20 over at least part of its height.

Instead, it is recommended to establish a border called sidewalk 32 on the upper plate 29 around each of the cells 12 and to rest the doors 31 on them; the doors 31 are provided with a seal 33 to closed section, in particular circular, which crashes on the sidewalk 32 and provides much better sealing 1.
