Object of the present invention is to develop a lighting unit for motor vehicles such that a modern LED styling with high brilliance and high luminous efficacy is achieved.
To solve this problem, the invention has the features of claim 1.
According to the invention, an additional lens is provided, which are associated with a plurality of small reflectors and the other to the same associated lenses on the one hand. The surfaces of the small reflectors are translucent on the one hand and aligned on the other hand to the light source and the downstream reflector. The location of the lens appears as the location of the light emitting diode (LED). The small reflectors appear as the LED reflectors associated with LED reflectors. Due to the fact that the additional lens is translucent, the partial light beam reflected by the reflector, which is not detected by the lens, can also be used for the light distribution. The design of the small reflectors determines the LED appearance, wherein the outgoing of the surfaces scattering effect is significantly matched to the rear side entering parallel light to produce a predetermined light distribution. The surfaces of the small reflectors are thus not substantially matched to the light coupled out by the lenses. Advantageously, the lighting unit according to the invention allows an easy to produce LED appearance, although preferably only a single light source is used in a rear area of the lighting unit. The fact that a parallel light beam entering from the reflector on the back side of the small reflectors also makes use of an increased luminous efficacy.
According to a preferred embodiment, a first auxiliary lens is provided with a plurality of small reflectors and arranged in a rear portion thereof through holes. The surfaces of the small reflectors serve as a means of scattering the light. Further, a second auxiliary lens is provided, which is arranged in the light emission direction behind the first auxiliary lens and has a lens in a aligned with the through holes of the first auxiliary lens areas. The lens has as a means for focusing the light on a collection lens segment, which protrudes on a reflector facing the rear side of the second auxiliary lens. Advantageously, a parallelized partial light bundle can thereby be focused onto the passage opening of the first additional optical disc. In addition, the lens has a Streulinsensegment that decouples the focused light directly forward in the light emission direction and laterally to the surfaces of the small reflectors. The scattered lens segment serves as a means of scattering the light. The lenses contribute significantly to the LED appearance since they have a higher luminance than the remaining area of the auxiliary lens by collecting and focusing the light and its relatively small area. Advantageously, this can emulate a considerably brighter light-emitting diode in a light-emitting diode system.
Further advantages of the invention will become apparent from the further subclaims.

The first
The
The second

The second
The
According to a further embodiment of the invention, the
