Definitions
- the invention relates to a contact holder for producing a KndmKey ist between at least one electrical contact surface and an electrical conductor resting thereon, in particular for contacting a connecting line on a sensor element of a sensor for detecting a parameter of a measuring gas, in particular the exhaust gas of internal combustion engines, according to the preamble of Claim 1.
- a known gas sensor for detecting a parameter of a gas component in particular a lambda probe or temperature sensor (DE 101 32 826 Cl), has a sensor element with a rectangular cross section, on the large surfaces of which are turned away from one another, electrical contact surfaces are arranged.
- the contact areas form the electrical connection potentials of electrodes arranged in a measurement area of the sensor element which is exposed to the measurement gas.
- a connecting cable led to the contact surfaces connects this
- the contact holder has two identically designed ceramic pressure bodies and a tensioning element which tensions the pressure bodies against the large areas of the sensor element, so that the conductors are pressed against the contact areas.
- the conductors can be glued to the sensor element and or welded to the respective contact surface.
- the tensioning element is designed as a shrink-on ring, as a ring-shaped, closed, stamped disk part with an H-shaped opening in cross section and inwardly directed tabs, or as a ring-shaped closed wire bracket part.
- the contact holder according to the invention with the features of claim 1 has the advantage that the design of the pressure bodies in a one-piece assembly module and the provision of predetermined breaking points between the pressure bodies, by means of which the pressure bodies can be easily separated from one another, significantly simplify the handling of the
- Contact holder is achieved in the assembly of the sensor in the series process, which is reflected in a reduction in manufacturing costs.
- Claim 16 has the advantage that the contact holder can be manufactured very inexpensively as a mass article. In addition, the functionally relevant dimensions and contours can be realized directly and very precisely in the die tool.
- FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section of a measuring sensor for recording a parameter of a measuring gas with sensor element, connecting line and with the contact holder connecting the connecting line with the sensing element, shown schematically, 2 shows a section of the contact holder according to line II-II in FIG. 1,
- FIG. 3 shows a view of the contact holder in the direction of the arrow in FIG. 2
- FIG. 4 shows a top view of the contact holder in up to 6 three assembly stages in the production of the clamp contact of the connecting line and sensor element
- FIG. 10 is a plan view of a modified embodiment of the contact holder
- FIG. 11 is a plan view of the mounting module 12 and 12 contact holder in two modified embodiments.
- the iru Fig. 1 schematically shown in longitudinal section sensor for detecting a
- Parameters of a measuring gas are designed here as a lambda probe for determining the oxygen content in the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine.
- the measuring sensor has a housing 10, in which, by means of an insulating seal packing 11, a sensor element 12 is received, which protrudes from the housing 10 with a gas-sensitive section 121 and is surrounded there by a protective tube 13 provided with openings 14 for the exhaust gas to pass through.
- electrodes are arranged in a known manner, from which conductor tracks lead to a connection-side section 122 of the sensor element 12 which is remote from the gas-sensitive section 121 and which terminate there in contact surfaces 15. As can be seen in the sectional view of the sensor element 12 in FIG.
- the rod-shaped sensor element 12 has a rectangular cross section.
- a total of four contact surfaces 15 are arranged spatially separated from one another on the large surfaces of the sensor element 12 facing away from one another and each connected to a conductor track.
- the contact surfaces 15 are each contacted with an electrical conductor 16 of a connecting line 17, via which the sensor element 12 with a control device
- the electrical contact between the electrical conductors 16 and the contact surfaces 15 is produced by means of a contact holder 20 which effects a clamping contact between each contact surface 15 and an electrical conductor 16 resting thereon.
- the connection-side section 122 of the sensor element 12 with the contact holder 20 is enclosed by a pipe part 18 which is placed on the housing 10 and is closed at the end with a closure disk 19.
- the connecting line 17 passes through the insulating closure disk 19 and is held embedded therein.
- the contact holder 20 comprises two pressure bodies 21, 22, which are arranged on diametral sides of the connection-side section 122 and are mirror-symmetrical, and a tensioning element 23, which engages the two pressure bodies 22 and exerts a compressive force on the pressure bodies 21, 22.
- a pressure body 21 or 22 is pressed onto two electrical conductors 16 resting on their associated contact surfaces 15, and a non-positive electrical and mechanical connection is thus established between the contact surfaces 15 on the sensor element 12 and the conductors 16 of the connecting line 17.
- the tensioning element 23 is designed as a spring clip with two spring legs 242 connected via a spring bar 241. Each spring leg 242 carries a latching nose 243 at the end for latching on the pressure bodies 21, 22.
- the two pressure bodies 21, 22 are combined in a one-piece assembly module 25, as can be seen in a top view in FIG. 4.
- the pressure bodies 21, 22 formed within the assembly module 25 are delimited from one another via two predetermined breaking points 26, so that by breaking open the predetermined breaking points 26 located in the plane of symmetry of the mirror-symmetrically formed pressure bodies 21, 2, the two pressure bodies 21, 22 can be separated very easily.
- the predetermined breaking points 26 are formed by narrow material webs 27 with perforations 28. Possible designs of the predetermined breaking point 26 can be seen in FIGS. 7 to 9, in each of which a side view of the assembly module 25 is shown.
- perforation 28 is realized by round holes 29 spaced apart from one another, in FIG. 8 by square holes 30 spaced apart from one another and in FIG. 9 by a crack or a longitudinal cut 31.
- the assembly module 25 has one central receiving opening 32 for the contact surfaces 15 with electrical conductors 16.
- Arranged on the assembly module 25 are two diametrically arranged locking troughs 32 for receiving the locking lugs 243 formed on the spring clip 24 and two run-up bevels 34 leading to the locking troughs 32 for the spring legs 242 of the spring clip 24.
- the insulating material which preferably consists of a ceramic with a high proportion of aluminum oxide or magnesium silicates, is pressed in the green state into a strand which has both the outer contours of the assembly module 25 and the latter central receiving opening 32, as well as the locking troughs 33 and the ramp slopes 34.
- These functionally relevant dimensions and contours can be realized directly and very precisely in the die tool for extrusion.
- the strength of the predetermined breaking points 26 is then adjusted to the target specifications for the breaking strength of the predetermined breaking points 26 by introducing the suitable perforation 28 into the material webs 27.
- the strand is then divided into individual pieces in the green state, the division being determined by the axial length of the assembly module 25. The individual pieces are then sintered.
- connection line 17 The clamping contact between connection line 17 and sensor element 12 is produced as follows:
- the mounting module 25 is pushed onto the sensor element 12 to such an extent that it surrounds the contact surfaces 15 on the connection-side section 122 of the sensor element 12.
- the electrical conductors 16 of the connecting line 17 have already been connected to the contact surfaces 15, e.g. by gap welding or soldering, but can alternatively also be inserted after the assembly module 25 has been pushed on between the latter and the contact surfaces 15.
- the tensioning element 23, here the spring clip 24 is pushed onto the mounting module 25, the spring legs 242 sliding with their locking lugs 243 along the ramp slopes 34 on the mounting module 25 and into the end of the ramp slopes 34 existing locking troughs 33 engage, so that the spring clip 24 is locked on the mounting module 25 (FIG. 5).
- the predetermined breaking points here the spring clip 24
- the predetermined breaking points 26 are destroyed in that a stress state is generated in the predetermined breaking points 26 which is greater than the strength of the predetermined breaking points 26. This can be accomplished in various ways: In the simplest case, this state of tension is generated by the spring force of the spring clip 24. The spring clip 24 must therefore be designed such that it provides a suitably high pressure force. The stress state in the predetermined breaking points 26 can, however, also be generated by subsequently increasing the pressure force of the spring clip 24, for example by deforming the mounted spring clip 24. Such a deformation can be caused, for example, by
- FIG. 10 shows a modified contact holder 20 in its pre-assembled state. It differs from the previously described contact holder 20 essentially in that the tensioning element 23 has two spring clips 24, which engage with their locking lugs 243 in a respective locking recess 33 in the assembly module 25.
- the two pressure bodies 21, 22 are again formed, which are delimited by two predetermined breaking points 26 formed by the material webs 27 with perforations 28.
- the assembly module 25 with the already mounted clamping element 23 is pushed onto the sensor element 12 until the assembly module 25 surrounds the contact surfaces 15 with electrical conductors 16. Then by applying a compressive force in
- the modified assembly modules 25 for the contact holder 20 shown in FIGS. 11 and 12 likewise have two pressure bodies 21, 22 which are connected to one another via two material webs 27 which act as predetermined breaking points 26.
- the two pressure bodies 21, 22 are not mirror-symmetrical, but different.
- the Material webs 27 and thus the predetermined breaking points 26 lie outside the plane of symmetry of the central receiving opening 32.
- the contact holder 20 described is not limited to use with a sensor. It can be used wherever a clamp connection is to be made between a contact surface and an electrical conductor resting on it, e.g. also in temperature sensors for measuring the temperature in the exhaust gas of internal combustion engines or in sensors for measuring the pressure in the exhaust gas of internal combustion engines.
